Veracious: @ romeo
I am not surprised by your Rants you call comments, as you don't sound to me, to be someone responsible or educated. i wonder why people like you should be allowed here on nairaland in the first place. lol. it's nitwits like you that shouldn't be allowed to come to nairaland until they learn to cut pictures to a reasonable size before putting it in their profiles, and a better display of education and responsibility is allowing others say their views irrespective of what we think of it. And i still wonder if you know what education is all about |

i am bringing this up because of constant mentioning of fornication even when they are engaged and are going to marry
1 Corinthians 7:36, But if any man thinks he is behaving improperly toward his virgin, if she is past the flower of youth, and thus it must be, let him do what he wishes. He does not sin; let them marry.
i am not too good with the Bible and i stand to be corrected!! |

dmax90: Let me if I may add ,my 2 cents,
Most Yoruba Movie actors are , , they appear more fluid and comfortable delivering their roles. After much delibration with colleagues of mine we concluded that its probably because they are performing in their native language. Even withing this gifted set of actors, we still have both the good and the bad. And I'll share a unique info I came across with you - 6 of 10 movies produced in Naija are Yoruba! The other 4 of 10 is shared between English, Igbo, and recently Hausa speaking movies.
1 of every 10 Nigeria movie is Yoruba!! Yoruba film this Yoruba film that and can some one please tell me where i can get one? subtitled!! let me see what all the noise is all about |

Orikinla: From the stage in the 1980S to the screen in the 1990s to date, I have been on sets with the leading Yoruba and Igbo actors. Therefore, I can say what I know from experience.
Yoruba actors are true artists and their naturalism makes them better actors.
When there was no money in acting, most of the Igbo actors were not interested in acting. But when the Igbo Electronics traders saw that they could import cassettes and CDs and fill them with B-rated home movies to be sold to their housewives and fellow Igbos, they jumped on the stage and are very artificial, because the greed for capital is their pivot and not the love for the Art. Garbage in, garbage out (GIGO).
Why are they always shouting when they are speaking, even when they are meant to be a couple making love alone in the bedroom?
You are watching a Nollywood movie, you just see that they are artificial. They are too camera conscious. Genevieve and Ini Edo are displaying for their boyfreiends and sugar daddies before the cameras.
I won't mention the other names, because they are my relations and pals. And when you tell them the truth, they refuse to accept their faults.
South Africa is not the third largest movie making country in the world, but South Africa has won two Oscars and have qualified for highly rated film festivals where Nollywood films did not even qualify for screening.
From Pa Orlando Martins to Olu Jacobs, Yoruba actors have blazed the trail in acting.
A script does not make a good actor, but a good actor makes a script great.
15 years of Nollywood and all we can boast of is quantity? Actually you are one of those wack people in our movie industry!! after so many years of being on set with all the supposed experience you have in movie, you are still a nobody!! doesn't that tell you something?. Envy like some stated above is your main problem. South African movies has gotten awards and even Spanish movies too or movies made in Palestine and what about Bollywood? or do all American movies get awards? give Nollywood the resources and time it needs and the awards will start coming in and when i say time i mean "to get wacks like you removed from the Nigerian movie industry" |

ifyalways: if a realtionship has ben going on before the guy travells out, then there is nothing one can do than to hope and pray for the best out of it.as for the gals loving or claiming to love the "guys from away"aka"ndi away"alais"away boys" better i look at it as something that has to do with ones personality and upbringing.infact its inferiority complex worrying such gals.any girl tha knows her self should know that its not too rosy outside.i mean some of those guys do menial jobs, some live with women old enough to be their mum, some even go as far as living with prostitutes and then come home to be feeling and claiming away for us, away boy my foot !its a pity that we gals sometimes don't think about the end.the guys are all explioters.they promise marriage, visa and just chop awof for the one month or so that they would spend and fiam, they pick race.leaving sorrows, pains and sometimes pregnancy in their trails.the babe is then left to lick her wounds alone.PITY Haba no be so now!!! @topic who no like better thing? some girls are doing what these girls are doing with away boys for free, no money no prospect no love |
