If you didn't reset it when you bought it from the owner, then it's mere battery preservation settings that's meant to protect the battery from too much charging. That's why it will charge when it's off cos the settings doesn't apply in such state. Just go to settings, then to battery. You should see it there. I've got the same settings on my Samsung

The easiest way is telegram. There are some verified callers who shill these coins before they're even launched on pancakeswap. Most times there are AMA sessions to communicate and relate with the team.
Also, there are channels where you can paste the CA of the said coin, and all the details will be shown. You can see if it's honeypot or not. You can even use tokensniffer to check the contract address know if it's honeypot, and if a copy code from another coin. There are other uses of it, so you can DYOR on that.
Another channel for on chain research is Lookonchain... You can search on telegram for it. It tracks wallets of whales and helps you commute with others on the channel.

The below pic was when it was still early.. by then sef, most people thought it was too late to enter. If you're in a shitcoins shilling telegram channel, you'll get a lot of shill coins. And they vary with what's currently trending at the time.
