Well done oga Barcanista Please do not relent in championing this cause. With the recent development in Nigeria, The seed has been planted in many hearts already |

Obiagelli: EU, ECOWAS and co are bringing countries together, if you are so much interested in unity, let's bring Nigeria together. The world via ECOWAS on co is trying to people together irrespective of race and tribe while you are doing the exact opposite.
I guess am done here. I'm sorry dear but I've known you to be more articulate than what you're doing here. U of all people should know that ECOWAS promotes regional interest na. Haba |

kestolove95: Remove south south from South East we don't have any bizness with you people just like we don't have bizness with d north and west...d igbos think we fools stop bringing the south south into ur biafra.. I didn't know where you're from but I was 100% sure you're not from SS from your comment. Look at the map of Nigeria first. Nobody from SS will be happy the way the whole Nigeria is feasting on their oil and rubbing it all in your face daily. No insult intended but Thank God you're now busted cos u were just being mischievous. Smh collynzo2: See this Kogi state fool hahahaha. |

barcanista: Exactly the idea. It is for a permanent unification and not just a temporary idea. The term SS and SE itself project "disunity" hence, I use the term eastern region. You know look at our Northern Neighbours hardly refer to NE or NW. Those are just political terms. We have no choice but to be united. By the grace of God we will achieve that. Amen following* |

Sweetguy25: I'm utterly disgusted to my bowels at the number of threads on this section themed and targeted at Igbos and how pathetic, miserable, loving, hated or whatever moral lessons the Igbos need to learn because of the conduct, behaviors and voting patterns at the just concluded elections. Can't we have peace? What is wrong with you people for gods sake? Are Igbos the only tribe in Nigeria? Why can't you people just move on and let us have our peace and sanity? Why!? Why!? Why!? Why!? You should know the tribe that has the most jobless youths in Nigeria na. Creating threads up and down against Igbos shows how jobless they are. The guys at the top won't be here creating useless threads na. But not to worry, their problem is coming to an end cos Buhari will soon start paying them 5k per month If they put this kind of energy into business, they may be as successful as Igbos |

ozoigbondu: The Oba of Lagos, Alhaji Rilwan Akiolu, on Sunday organised a prayer session for peaceful co-existence in Lagos and Nigeria in general.
The prayer was conducted at the Iga Idunganran Palace of the royal father on Lagos Island. Akiolu said that the prayer was imperative to peaceful co-existence in Lagos and Nigeria in general, after peaceful conduct of the general elections in the state.
He urged different tribes in Lagos to work for the progress of the state.
The royal father urged the president-elect, retired Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari to assist Lagos in repairing most of the damaged federal roads in the state.
Akiolu, who spoke in Yoruba language, said that when Buhari came to his palace during the campaign period, he was three hours behind schedule.
He said that Buhari complained of bad roads and he told him that when he becomes the president he should help the state to reconstruct the road. The Oba said he was sure that God would give him the power to do it.
Akiolu urged the incoming Governor of Lagos, to do what he promised the people.
The prayer was conducted by Imam Mujitabah Giwa, the Alawiye of Lagos and his league of Imams.
Giwa prayed for peaceful coexistence in Lagos and also for political leaders in the country.
Some traditional rulers in Lagos as well as white cap chiefs were present at the prayer session. Chief Rasak Okoya, Chairman of Eleganza Group was also among some dignitaries present.
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/04/oba-of-lagos-akiolu-organises-prayer-for-peaceful-co-existence-in-lagos-nigeria/ If I hear 'The heart of man is desperately wicked, who can know it?' 'Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth has already spoken' Using religion to play down genocide threat on a whole tribe. Imagine the Oba swearing by Allah to carry out his lagoon threat and still trying to use religion to get away with it. This can happen Only in Nigeria!!!!!!!! Video that I saw him swear by Allah , put his finger in his mouth and raised it up, people are here telling me he was using metaphor. Who is deceiving who? Even on nairaland here, there are countless threads already opened by his subjects on how to deal with Igbos in Lagos following Oba's threat. His throne is too sensitive for such direct threat without mincing words cos his followers have been incited with so much hate already. In a civilized society, a genocide threat such as this will be given the kind of justice it deserves. I think Igbos are too peace loving walahi. This matter should be in ICC not in any church or mosque. So Because it's against Igbos on this one, we have to embrace peace cos we're ONE NIGERIA. Which other tribe in Nigeria will tolerate such genocide threat? Arrant Nonsense Spits and Unfollows thread |

Politics › Re: What The Igbos Have Lost In The 2015 Election by Rose2014: 6:19pm On Apr 12, 2015 |
TooNoisy: 1. Political Relevance: Now that the Igbos are the opposition and let us see how they are going to cope with being an opposition Party. They have lost the Presidency and Vice Presidency. The cannot get the Senate Presidency or Speaker of the House. The most they can get in the government is Minority Leader of the House or Senate. I see Igbos decamping to APC.
2. Leadership: Who is going to lead the Igbos now? Jonathan was unofficially the Leader of the SS/SE but now who will lead the Igbos in this wilderness. Is it Peter Obi or will they now bow to Akpabio from Akwa Ibom. The Igbos need to go back to the drawing board. They have always looked to other Tribes for Leadership, even looking at the South South now, so I see Igbos decamping to APC in search of Leadership.
3. Governorship Seats: The PDP has only two seats in the SE. Can you believe that? So much for speaking with one voice. The PDP has 2 seats, APGA 2 seats and APC has one seat. These APGA elements will never team up with PDP. They do not want to be part of Opposition. I see two governors decamping to APC
4. Trust from their Hosts: Unfortunately the Igbo over-politicised the Lagos state governorship elections. Even ridiculing the Oba of Lagos to his face. Now that Chukwuemeka Agbaje has lost; Eze Ndigbo of Lagos will remain a third class monarch forever. But the truth is that the Yorubas in Lagos will be more careful in dealing with the Igbos now. You live in a State where you are given the same rights as any other Lagosian but you now choose to Challenge your hosts. Trust me, APC will look for subtle ways of neutralizing Igbos.
If the Igbos were politically smart, they would all support Rochas Okorocha because he could be president in 4 years time. Buhari will most likely be a one-term president and when power returns to the South, it can only go to the South East. Unfortunately, only Rochas, Nigige and Ogbonnaya Onu are wise enough to see that. sweetheart don't worry, Buhari promised to be paying you 5k per month so there's hope for your situation Your joblessness wasn't caused by Igbos na. If your brothers start thinking like entrepreneurs like Igbos, your frustration will be over. Stop hoping that government will spoon feed you. It"s not going to happen. If you have some talent, put it to good use. That's what Igbos do. No need to hate, rather make Igbo friends and plead with them to show you the way |

MalcoImX: The Sovereign may here and there use a little whip to keep people in line. But largely it was a cordial gathering with laughs and even singing. | Honestly, we always fall by literally translating what shouldn't have been. You know the Buhari's, 'Dogs and baboons soaked in blood' is still viewed by many to mean to shed blood, while in all sincerity it only means "a hotly contested race."
If we don't understand other people's tradition and ways, it's better to ask them. My inability to understand, for example, the Igbo personality always makes me to have an open space, though I may argue insistingly, in the hope that the other view may be seen. U made some good points. On my part, I have elders in my family so I understand idioms and proverbs when used however when an Oba(from a supposed sacred throne) swears to Allah, licks his finger n raises it, while threatening genocide, his stance is no longer proverbial |

MalcoImX: The reference to the lagoon swallowing all those working against the interest of Lagos is a cultural thing. It shouldn't be taken literally as somebody trying to deny others life. The Obas and people of Lagos have used and will continue to use the phrase. So, why is it an issue when the Oba reminded the Igbos of the cultural ethos and metaphors of Lagos. Maybe you need to watch the video again Oba wasn't referencing anything o He even swore to Allah sef while threatening Lagoon genocide Metaphor ko, comic relief ni |

raumdeuter: It was very right
Oba is the custodian of lagos tradition and when some visitors are hell bent on going against the tradition he needs to read them the riot act Chai if this is how u truly feel then Buhari should be fast with this 5k per month cos u really need it before frustration kills u |
