Hello,
Thank you guys for this beautiful thread.
I've started the coursera UX design course but I haven't really found self learning easy.
Is there any free online cohort I can apply for, for accountability purposes?
Also, what else should I be doing apart from the coursera course? |

WUdec: Sometimes it feels as if it did not happen. Sometimes you still see their face, remember their favourite chair, their favourite lines, their favourite food etc
Most times you realise you have talked a lot about them every past week. Sometimes you wish you spent more time with them, sometimes you wish you were there before they died. Sometimes you wish you could see them again and treat them differently. Sometimes you cry and you don't wanna stop cos it hurts. Sometimes you wish they'd hug you. Sometimes you wish you can't go on without them etc.
Wherever she is, she'd want you to live on and become a better version of herself. She'd give you words of encouragement and tell you to go out there and live again. Change your life for the better and be happy. If she were still alive she'd have loved you to get married, have kids, live happily and help others in need.
Truth is she is gone and we have to accept the things we cannot change. We did our best while they existed. We did all we could to make them smile and we can't stop now. For if we give in to misery, guilt and grief...we will never recover. They have lived their lives and they raised you to make them proud. Now wipe your tears cos you are gonna be alright. Go out there and be what they wanted you to be.
PS: I lost my dad a few months ago and I've never been the same since but all I know is I must stay strong and make sure the family is good. And become the best version of myself i can be. We all came for a purpose in life and when that purpose is done, we all go. Only God knows the true purpose. You will be good trust me. I am here if you ever need someone to talk to.
May God help you through it and may he help you regain your happiness and strength. You were born to be somebody and hell yeah...you will! It's one week today, my momma died in my arms. When I look at people I just feel they're already dead because if my mom could die, what's the essence of living. I watched her breathe her last, it haunts me, it haunts me so badly. I keep wondering if there's something I could have done differently. Never in my life did I imagine I'd be that person that cries and types. My hear is literally aching. |

andyanders: Op, this is a very dicey situation on ground. Long distance relationship is very risky.
You described ur wife as a very prity woman. You can ONLY trust urself and nobody else. Having a young wife doing a marketing job is 80 by 20 % chance. 80 bad and 20 managable. You know ur financial position right now, of which must have affected having ur white wedding and taking ur, hence ur trouble.
Most women has fish brain and can be manipulated. Money u expect cannot buy u peace if something wrong blows on ur face.
Her job exposes her to danger/temptation as she comes across different clients- men. I know what 95% of young ladies that work with banks go through.
An example; I was in the office one day with some friends, when one of these smart young marketer walked. After her products display and sweet skill, one of the guys engaged her in a discussion nd offered her lunch. That same day, the guy took her to his house and fvcked her. We were surprised when he came bck to jist us. U knw her better. And you think this your story is necessary? |

@boldened is him indirectly telling you he is no more interested, he wants you to either choose him or the job,
I'm sorry but the fact that you're considering it to the extent of creating a thread is annoying. Your annoyance is in order. |

bukatyne: I am sorry, I do not like the tone of the husband to be.
He sounds like he is doing the girl a favor and very uncommitted to the union.
He doesn't want a long distance marriage (fair), he doesn't want a housewife (fair).
What is he doing to ensure it works out?
Babe is currently working at Warri: have they discussed she can get a transfer to Abuja? If yes, what are the prerequisites?
If no, what is the plan? When do they plan to get married? Is he actively looking for a job at Abuja? Is her line such that she can do stuff on her own? Is he working towards that?
What is he doing to ensure that things wok out for them apart from telling the lady what he wants/doesn't want?
Is he interested in the future career/ plans of the lady or is he the type of 'I don't want a liability' husband so his goal is an earning wife and not a wife growing in something worthwhile?
I think the lady has to ascertain he is marriage worthy or he is fit to give her the kind of marriage she wants before thinking of moving or transferring to meet him.
These are pointers to the kind of husband he would be.
Except she is a 'man na man, all men are the same' type of lady. This is very illuminating. Lol @man na man. That's the mantra of desperate ladies. |

Klass99: Lol , sweet heart I have made my contribution in the first sentence.
My cousin, gave up a good job in Abuja when she said yes to a marriage proposal and relocated to be with her hubby after the wedding/marriage rites.
She is not a happy woman several years after, in that marriage or state she moved to, because work opportunities are very limited.
She was even proposed to, dem never propose to you (or has he?) And even if he has, until you become his wife proper by our traditional customs/practices in Naija, do not quit your job.
Lol at your last sentence. I'm not angry I just hate the way we carry marriage on top of our head in this part of the world. With so much frenzy and feverish anxiety.....like what's the big deal nah? Sorry about your cousin. They're engaged. He's practically saying she'll quit once they've tied the knot. Big deal about something that's so stressful, especially for the woman. I get you jare. |

bukatyne: Move to Abuja as what? Wife? Fiancee? Girlfriend? Bedmate?
Oga has already told you he will retract his end of the bargain (what end: relationship/proposal) if thee distance interfers (which it will because it is a long distance).
Smart guy! Doesn't want to carry the guilt of a breakup so he gives you conditions like 'I will move on if water makes me wet' or 'if petrol makes my car move' or 'if air makes my balloon float'.
You better te pa mose: if the relationship would be, it would.
If it won't, let it die a natural death. They are getting ready to be married but he said he would not for the sake of her job be in a long distance marriage. |

Klass99: Dem use marriage swear for us in Africa?
If you no marry this guy, you no go see another one marry or you go die?
I am assuming this is about you and not a friend. I never even asserted it was my friend. You are right to make your assumptions though. You can now go ahead and make a concise contribution. PS : you're angry sha |

If the answer is yes, then she can start searching for a job in abuja And if she doesn't get one? |

dingbang: She should continue with her federal job in delta state. And forgo the marriage? |
Family › What Should She Do? by Rosebloom(op): 6:47pm On Sep 05, 2020 |
This lady recently got a federal job in Delta and met a guy who resides in Abuja . He proposed and they had agreed she'll work for at least two years while they try long distance.
After they had been in the relationship for a while the guy told her while he agrees to the arrangement he'll retract his end of the bargain if the long distance interferes(he was basically saying he doesn't want long distance). Suggested rather she quit and come look for a job in Abuja or start a business.
Note that he also does not want a stay at home wife. |
