HOW TO PREVENT FOOD ALLERGIES IN CHILDREN

Practical steps to take when introducing any new food to your baby.

Let's say your baby is 6 months of age and trying a puree or pap for the first time.

Follow these steps to avoid an allergic reaction

1. MAKE PUREE/PAP/CEREAL WITH ONLY ONE INGREDIENT
I know most mums have been looking forward to trying different recipes but it will do your baby a lot of good to start simple.
A single-ingredient food makes it easy to watch for reaction and trace any possible reaction to the food causing it.

2. GIVE THE SAME FOOD FOR THREE DAYS STRAIGHT
Give your baby the same food once each day for three days straight, your baby starting to eat solid food at 6 months of age should still have a steady supply of breastmilk so solid food should be given once or twice during the DAY, for three days straight.

3. WATCH CLOSELY
When introducing a new food, watch baby closely for any form of reaction or discomfort that might be casued by the new food. You will be looking out for rahes, stomach aches, vomiting, loose stool, breathlesness etc

4. SUBSTITUTE AND ELIMINATE
Any food ingredient that causes a reaction should either be substitued or eliminated from your baby's diet to prevent further occurence.
If a parent happens to be allergic to a particular food ingredient, you should be more careful when introducing such food.

5. PASSED
Food ingredients that has passed the 3-day test can now be fed freely to baby and matched with other food ingreients that are safe for your baby.

PS. Some food ingredients cause more allergic reactions than others, ingredients such as Milk, Eggs, Peanuts (groundnuts), Soy, Wheat, Fish, Shell fish such as shrimp, Tree nuts such as walnuts and cashews nuts are common allergens which accounts for 90% of all reaction in children.

I've been following this thread for a while now, you're awesome I must confess. I've been trying to conceive for a while but it's to no avail. 4 months ago I had this symptoms so I did the urine test and it came out positive but 4days later my period came since then I've been trying. In October I went home to see my parent and decided to visit my sister then she took me to see her friend's mother who is a midwife, on getting there she told me that am menstruating with pregnancy I was shocked tho but after a series of check up and native medicine am still seeing my period. I don't know what to do please I need help because I didn't test on Saturday last week and my period came on Wednesday

Why not go to a lab and carry out a blood test
Some women menstruate in pregnancy but you need to be sure it's not a threatening abortion.

hello mamas and Dear sis...I had fibroid surgery in February this year,and cyst also.afer the surgery I was gvinin three months to start trying
..after three months I started trying and since then I didn't conceived..i decided to call a friend in the hospital who chked my file and told me things the doctor didn't tell me.he said during my surgery the notice my tube was rotten so dy hv to cut that part out and rejoin in back together. so I jus have to wait until the tube is well healed and strengthen. mama am so sad.am jus confused and Dnt knw wot do.

Am just wondering what kind of hospital will do that without informing the patient.
Pls don't lose hope. The good thing is that there are 2 tube, am hoping they didn't cut the other. Even if they did, you can still conceive with it.
My advice is to run hsg and ascertain condition of the tubes. It's a standard procedure for some hospitals, a lot can go wrong with all these surgeries. So usually, hsg is done afterwards to be sure tubes are not affected.
The type of blockage will determine how you can unblock. Lots of women have renewed their hope of conception with alternative medicine/herbs even after being written off by medical doctors.
Just be calm
