No matter how poor the quality of finishing is, 18-20m will not give you good duplex in any path of Nigeria.
Carcass alone will cost you about 13-15m, while the most moderate finish will also as much

It's a pity how this section has become. This was probably the only section I visited at least 4 times a day and read every word in the contributions.
I've been inactive for a few months and I started reading posts from February and it was very obvious that the elders have left the house and children have been moulding each others head.

The experience shared and gained here cannot be measured or paid for. Unlike the perception of most new dancers on the theatre here, reading and learning here doesn't create quacks but clients who are better informed and who could reason rationally.

Please bring back the Platform of old!

Here’s my opinion on the issue that you raised.

Many vendors have moved on and stopped posting either because of personal commitments or being bullied away.


For owners like me, many of us have finished our builds and many more since then, gained the experience and simply stopped participating.

In my opinion this specific thread has outlived its intent if not its usefullness.

I’m more than happier to see you again here and a big AMEN to your prayer.
Good things is about coming.
I’m well understood that most home owners then have done with there project which I’m so happy about.
But we still need you people here to always guide new home owners based on your experience With others professional so that people will not be mislead.

I like all the professionals and home owners here for there comets about the OP that asked if 13m can give him simple and good 5bedrooms duplex from scratch to the finishing stage. It’s now shows that 13m can never give him such edifice.

But OP don’t be discourage 13m is a lot of more just have it in your deep rooted mind and have positive mind that it’s done... prepared to spent additional little more money to give you your desire home

@ OP ..Based on experience don’t start what you can’t finish.
13million can’t give you such building.
Listen to professionals advise and get full details of the work before you start so that you will know what you are working towards.

Which there wealth of experience in build industry make this section one of the best on Nairaland

Actually I know what make some of them keep quiet this day is just because some are label names which is not that so aspected by them and many more like that.

What we do we see this days mostly is non professional advise which in turn do give some home base bad names bcs for example some who has not visited site ones in his life or know anything about building will be give building quote to non home base person and later a professional give advise or quote the next thing we will see is that the quote is TOO HIGH,
so many thing like that pls is too annoying why because some of you guru has ran away from here.

If all ran away who will make the this section great again pls that is why I will mention some names here to pls come back again and let’s rebuild this Nairaland as a whole

Thanks a lot...but if you paint the POP directly with out screeding ..... What are the disadvantages....

As I said it’s not compulsory to screed the pop, but to give good smother look, ask your pop man or painter to screed and sand paper it.

To your neighbor that paint directly without screed didn’t commit any crime for doing so

But agree with me that we have good , better, and best in everything this also applicable to finishing.
