They are scammers. It is called "one ring", where they call numbers and immediately disconnect with hopes that curious people will return the call. The scammers use phone numbers bought on the dark web that they use to call other numbers.
The aim of the scam is to encourage those who get a missed call to call the number, after which they will be ripped off as the call will be re-routed to premium rate number overseas & will be subsequently billed exorbitant sums for listening to pre-recorded messages.
Then they get heavily paid as a commission for referring people to a premium call rates that likely pinch adverts to the listeners.

My guy this is what happened to my Old MTN Line, even MTN customer care cannot solve it, have called and explain what is happening to my number they keep on telling me stories that i use to call Foreign numbers, if i load Airtime it will vanish, what suprised me is that they can even borrow money with your line and the borrowed money will vanish, am not Joking bro now am oweing MTN N3000 which i know if i try to pay back they will still take the money, i just bought a new sim two months ago that am using, bro please is there a way out i think my SIM card has been hacked, how can i be free and regain my old MTN sim back.
