When Nigeria was working, Jonathan took loan in the tune of $460m from China to install CCTV Camera in Abuja Metropolis.

As at today, Nigeria is servicing the loan and the project wasn't executed.

This won't be nonsense to Ipobians haters, biafraudster and wailers. They will never be happy with PMB because, it's no more business as usual.
Your sudden blindness to dangerous ventures by this government is nauseating.
Politics$30 Billion Loan: Endless Borrowing Will Lead To Endless Sorrowing - Atiku Abuba by royalamour(op): 5:25pm On Dec 17, 2019
This was contained in an article he posted on his facebook page.

Recall that the Senate, recently gave a nod for the Federal to borrow a staggering $30 billion.

The former vice president reacted to the outrageous amount the federal government is about to borrow.

He wrote:

"Endless Borrowing Will Lead to Endless Sorrowing.

By Atiku Abubakar.

John Quincy Adams once said “there are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by the sword. The other is by debt.” He may have very well been referring to Nigeria of the last three years.

Barely two weeks ago, I warned during my Founder’s Day lecture at the American University of Nigeria, Yola, that Nigeria had taken almost as much foreign debt in the last three years, as she had taken in the thirty years before 2015 combined. Now that is frightening. And very true.

Frightening, not just because of the amount, but because after such unprecedented borrowing, we have emerged as the world headquarters for extreme poverty and the global capital for out of school children. It begs the question: what were the funds used for?

I have said it time and again. The business of government is too serious to be left in the hands of politicians. We must all ask questions because if they throw away the future, it is not going to be their future they are throwing away, it will be all our futures.

The fact that Nigeria currently budgets more money for debt servicing (₦2.7 trillion), than we do on capital expenditure (₦2.4 trillion) is already an indicator that we have borrowed more money than we can afford to borrow. And the thing is that debt servicing is not debt repayment. Debt servicing just means that we are paying the barest minimum allowable by our creditors.

And while spending 50% of our current revenue on debt servicing, this administration wants to take further loans of $29.6 billion! To say that this is irresponsible is itself an understatement.

As a businessman, one of the very first things I learnt is that you do not take loans except you are expanding your business. Even as an individual, when your income cannot fund your lifestyle, you are challenged to grow your income, not your borrowings.

Even if this administration borrows $1 trillion, it will never be enough because their challenge is one of capacity. They are not using the funds they already have wisely. They do not need more debt. They need more intellectual capacity.
The money the Muhammadu Buhari administration wants to borrow to fund its Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) could be acquired without sinking the nation into further debt. All it requires is visionary leadership and business acumen.

In my economic blueprint, I said that rather than turn in regular losses (which it has consistently been doing), the best thing to do with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation is to reform it. Of course, the administration’s paid propagandists went into overdrive, accusing me of planning to sell the NNPC to my friends. But just last week, Saudi Arabia’s ARAMCO, the most profitable company in the world, took that route and almost broke the global stock market with the most successful initial IPOs in world history, bar none. Ironically, Saudi Aramco raised $29.4 billion via this IPO. Just the amount this administration wants to borrow.

That could have been Nigeria’s story, but for our failure of leadership. By reforming the NNPC, Nigeria can raise the $29.6 billion the Buhari regime wants to borrow, and we will raise the money without going into debt.

If we had taken that route, not only would we have attracted Foreign Direct Investment into Nigeria, but even better than investment, we would have attracted confidence in our economy, because it would have shown that we have a thinking leadership.

Take the example of the Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas company. This is a joint venture between the Nigeria government and the private sector. Yet, while the NLNG declares very handsome profits, in billions of dollars every year, the NNPC declares loses! This is proof that the NLNG model works, and the NNPC model does not.

Moody’s, the world’s preeminent rating agency, has just downgraded Nigeria. Ghana, a nation with only 15% of our population, now attracts more Foreign Direct Investment than Nigeria, and Rwanda, a country with less than 15% of our mineral endowment, has an economy that is growing at twice the rate of our economy. The problem is not revenue. The challenge is not Nigerians. The issue is leadership.
While there is scant information in the Medium Term Expenditure Framework for what the loan would be used for, I could not help but read a communication from the Presidency to the effect that one of such projects would be the digitalisation of the Nigerian Television Authority and other similar projects.

Spending revenue on such projects would be foolish, but spending loans in such a manner is nothing short of foolhardy. The Nigerian government does not have a good record of running businesses, and a public television network is unlikely to yield the type of income that would justify taking out loans to digitalise it. Besides, is that a priority, when we have 12 million children out of school? Like I said, capacity, not revenue, is the problem.

And in proof of this, I offer the example of how this administration took delivery of $322 million Abacha loot in 2018 and claimed it shared it out to poor Nigerians, only to obtain a $328 million loan from China, allegedly for ICT development the very next month. How do you share out $322 million and then borrow $328 million? Who does that? At the risk of repeating myself, it is clear that no amount of money, whether from revenue or borrowings, will be enough for an administration that lacks capacity.

So, what must Nigeria do now? Rather than profligate borrowing, what Nigeria needs to do is restore investor confidence in our economy. Key to that is respecting the independence of key institutions, such as the Judiciary and the Central Bank of Nigeria. Both of these institutions are now the captives of Buhari and his cabal, and though they are loathe to admit it, they cannot take one step without watching their backs.

Why are foreign investors leaving Nigeria for Ghana? The answer is that Ghana, unlike Nigeria, has learnt how to divorce key institutions from politics. The Ghanaian central bank enjoys a degree of independence that our own CBN can only dream of under the prevailing atmosphere. You will not hear Ghana’s leaders give flippant interviews overseas about their plans for the cedi, as Buhari has done in Europe about the Naira. It rang alarm bells because it is not the job of the executive to interfere in the role of the reserve bank.
Neither will you find Ghana’s leaders blatantly intimidating the judiciary by obviously setting up judges and invading courtrooms. Why would any investor come to Nigeria under such prevailing circumstances? Their thought would be that if they had industrial disputes, our courts, under this administration, could not be counted on to deliver impartial justice.

I was part of a team that paid off Nigeria’s entire foreign debt. I, therefore, cannot sit and watch an administration without vision squander our children’s future by taking and wasting loans that they do not even have the capacity to utilise properly.

Thank God for leaked memos that have exposed the lies this regime has told Nigerians about unprecedented revenues in the Federal Inland Revenue Service and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. Now, we know that Nigeria is not poor because she is not making enough money. The truth is that Nigeria is poor because she is not making the right leadership decisions.

Thomas Jefferson said, “to preserve our independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt.” Dear citizens of our beloved nation, this is a call to heed.

President Olusegun Obasanjo and I paid off this nation’s debt, and I will not stand idly by and watch while Nigeria is plunged into second slavery by those who only know how to reap where they have not sown.

Our youth must have something better to inherit from us than unsustainable debt fuelled by insatiable greed. That is why I call on the Senate of the National Assembly to show loyalty to Nigeria and reconsider its decision with regards to approving Buhari’s $29.6 billion loan request.

We need to pay heed to Benjamin Franklin’s advise that “he that goes a borrowing goes a sorrowing”. I call on Nigeria’s youth to identify the Senator representing their senatorial zones and write to them, urging them to vote against this request. Do this, because it is you and your children that will pay back these loans that would be squandered by this ravenous cabal who do not have the word enough in their vocabulary."

BRATISLAVA:
So now that you heard his side it has justified the cruel treatment to your mother that you said made her to suffer? What do your unborn children have to do with his unkindness to your mother?. Problem is that many men do evil to their wives not knowing that the people who will never forgive them are the children. The way your unborn children will have nothing to do with this is if you treat your future wife well. I have no pity for men who do evil and get abandoned by their kids. This is why abuse in any form is foolishness, because it is the children who will suffer it not even the spouse you want to hurt. His side means nothing. The oppressors do not need sympathy except from fellow oppressors. And yes, it will be taken as a pat on the back. Loyal or disloyal, nobody deserves to be abused . Just divorce. Former spokesperson to H.E Olusegun Obasanjo and former aviation minister, Mr. Femi Fani Kayode has taken to twitter to respond the statement of Mr. Femi Adesina about the Punch Newspaper publication.

According to Punch Newspaper, "They won't refer to Buhari as Mr. President, rather, they will continue to refer to him as General Buhari in their subsequent publications until he starts obeying court orders and release Sowore."

FFK wrote "Whether he has earned the title of Major General or not the fact remains that the Punch has voiced the opinion of millions that your principal is a divisive, vicious, unstable, repressive, fascistic & dangerous tyrant who is unworthy of being called Mr. President. Suck on that!".

Mr. Adesina earlier today, responded to Punch Newspaper publication condemning the continued detention of Mr. Sowore.

Adesina said "If you decide to call him Major General, he wasn’t dashed the rank, he earned it. So, you are not completely out of order. The fact that you can do so is even another testimony to press freedom in Nigeria."

Mr. Sowore was arrested for the second time during a court proceeding in a Federal High Court, last week in Abuja.

The DSS is yet to charge Sowore to court after his arrest.

The just concluded Kogi state gubernatorial election in which Yahaya Bello was declared winner was marred with irregularities and violence.

According to reports, over 60 cases of violence were reported. More than 30 persons lost their lives.

The international observers described the election as a violent one.

Yahaya Bello was declared winner by the INEC after he pulled over 400,000 votes. The victory was not without post election violence as the PDP Women Leader in Ofu LGA was burnt alive in her house.

Others such as the wife to the PDP Leader in the same Ofu LGA was shot in the head and she died on the spot. Valuables such as houses, cars, and other properties were also destroyed.

The APC National Women Leader, Hajia Salamatu Beiwa, the SDP gubernatorial candidate, Natasha Akpoti and the PDP candidate, Engr. Musa Wada had after paying a condolence visit to Mrs. Acheju's family, condemned in the strongest terms the killing of the late PDP Women Leader in Ofu.

A group of rented thugs on Friday morning stormed the Federal High Court in Abuja ahead of the trial of pro-democracy campaigner and Publisher of SahareReporters, Omoyele Sowore, condemning his release by the Department of State Services.

Sowore, arrested on August 3, 2019 by the DSS for calling on Nigerians to demand a better country from the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari through peaceful demonstrations, was on Thursday released by the secret police after 125 days in detention despite two court orders directing his release after meeting stringent bail conditions in that period.

The hired thugs, who stormed the Abuja court on Friday morning held placards bearing different inscriptions.

According to them, the DSS shouldn't had released Sowore because he had to pay for what they described as 'sins'.

PoliticsMama “boko Haram” Detained Over 66m Fraud by royalamour(op): 12:53pm On Dec 05, 2019
A High Court Sitting in Maiduguri has arraigned a self-acclaimed Boko Haram negotiator, Aisha Wakil and three others on a four-count charge of 66m fraud.

Wakil, is also known as Mama Boko Haram for her supposed links with the group culminating in her reportedly participating in negotiations.

Mama Boko Haram, the CEO of Complete Care and Aid Foundation, was arraigned before Justice Aisha Kumaliya of the Borno State High Court 12 alongside her country manager Lawal Sowode and two programme managers of the foundation.

The arraignment followed a petition written to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission Maiduguri.

They were charged with three counts of conspiracy and cheating to the tune of N66m.

The petitioner, Ali Tijjani, Managing Director of AMTMAT Global Ventures had alleged that on September 7, 2018, Complete Care and Aids Foundation awarded his company a contract to supply processed maize grain, referred to as biski and worth N15m, which Wakil received on behalf of the foundation.

Tijjani said his company, upon the request of the defendants, also processed and funded their trip to Morocco.

Count two of the charge read, “That you Tahiru Saidu Daura, while being a programme manager of Complete Care and Aid Foundation; and Aisha Wakil, being the CEO of Complete Care and Aid Foundation on the 7th September, 2018, in Maiduguri within the jurisdiction of this honourable court, dishonestly induced Ali Tijjani, the CEO and alter ego of AMTMAT Global Ventures, to deliver to you processed maize grains (biski) valued at N15m which you are yet to pay and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 320(a) and punishable under Section 322 of the Penal Code Cap 102 Laws of Borno State.”

The defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges and the prosecution counsel, Fatsuma Muhammad, applied for a trial date and for the remand of the defendants in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Centre pending the determination of the case.

The defense counsel Babagana Zanna, made oral bail applications for the defendants on the ground of the administrative bail earlier granted to them by the EFCC.

Justice Kumaliya, however, granted them bail in the sum of N30m with two sureties in like sum, one of whom must be a civil servant not below the rank of a permanent secretary and must acquire a landed property in GRA worth 30m.

The Nigerian government has raised alarm concerning the stealing and replacing of clips, bolts and knots on the Lagos/Ibadan rail line.

Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Fidet Okhiria, said 5,000 clips and 10,000 bolts as well as knots had been replaced along the rail track.

Mr. Fidet said, “You can’t imagine that between Lagos and Ibadan, we have replaced over 5,000 clips and close to 10,000 bolts and nuts on the track and it is not a good thing at all.

“Without those things on the tracks, accidents can occur.

“We know the volume of passengers on a train. So vandalism of rail infrastructure has to stop.”

He added that government would still go ahead to extend the Lagos-Ibadan line to Kano in three years.

The Nigerian government has in the past 10 years sunk over 4 billion dollars in its railway sector with the hope of reviving and sustaining the sector.

PoliticsSack Oshiomhole Now Or APC Will Not Survive After Buhari’s Tenure – Okorocha by royalamour(op): 2:12pm On Dec 03, 2019
https://i0.wp.com/www.editorialtimes.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/Adams-Oshiomhole.jpg?resize=696%2C418

Senator Rochas Okorocha, the immediate past governor of Imo State and a serving senator on Monday made insinuations suggesting that a prominent member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) needs to be sacked if it must survive beyond 2023 when President Muhammadu Buhari’s tenure would elapse.

Okorocha did not directly mention the name of the person that needed to be fired, but he painted a picture that seemed to suggest he was referring to the national chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole, who supposedly plays the role of a coach in the party.

He said, “No party ever survives with crisis, and on daily basis you hear about crisis in APC and anytime a football team is not doing well, you don’t blame the players, you blame the coach and if he needs to be fired, you fire him and get a new coach to teach the people on how to win their matches.

The Imo West senator added that “when you run a party based on sentiments you are going to have a similar problem that the PDP had in the past. For God’s sake, if someone is not doing his job correctly, he should be shown the way out so that others can come in. After all, we have more than one hundred million people in this country.”

The senator, who had since been suspended by the Oshiomhole led APC over anti-party activities, sounded a warning that the party may not survive after President Buhari’s exit in 2023.

Buhari had during the NEC meeting, appealed to the APC stakeholders not to allow the party to die after his tenure.

However, Okorocha, who spoke again during an interaction session with some journalists in Abuja insisted that there was an immediate need to address the internal crisis rocking the governing party, beyond President Muhammadu Buhari’s recent plea.

“The appeal by Mr President is okay but more needs to be done to reorganize the party and any party that does not respect its organs is bound to fail, you don’t have the BOT, you don’t have NEC meetings, you don’t have Committees working, that is not a party, so we need to call a spade a spade and do things correctly and the party will pick up and everybody will be happy for it so that the whole idea of forming APC will not be in vain,” he said.

Okorocha, who noted that “in 2015 we built the APC around President Buhari because of his integrity to wrest power from PDP” said, members of the party were still going to ensure that the party did not die after his tenure, but that “he needs to show leadership”.

Meanwhile, the former governor expressed optimism that the party stakeholders would jettison their grievances to ensure the party lives beyond 2023 as Buhari pleaded.
