At first emboldened, that's an insult.

At second emboldened, even though she's right, her post is misleading because many notable white women in a developed country didn't change their surname.
Well, to be honest, No they don't have more money or fame or success than Beyonce. And yet she answers Mrs Carter. I guess people are looking at it from a "Pride" angle.

At second emboldened,
her post is misleading because many notable white women in a developed country didn't change their surname.
I dont see how this relates to her post.

Personally, If a guy agrees to marry a girl that chooses to retain her name in marriage, then its the guy's decision and there is no problem. I doubt many men will agree to that though. And this includes the "civilized" white men in the west.
63.3 percent of Men’s Health followers said they would be upset if their wives kept their maiden names.
96.3 percent of Men’s Health followers said they wouldn’t take a woman’s last name if she asked them to.

Statistics aside, I wouldn't do it either.

What thread exactly?
It's more like accusing someone of being gay because he's pro gay.
I replied the girl because her post reeks inferiority complex and she used to insult Nigerian/African women.....
I cant remember them now. But its more than one.
I have no issue with you replying her. You sounded feminine that's all. And how did she insult Nigeria/African women? Just curious.

Seriously.....What I believe by being equal doesn't imply sexual organs.
Woman A has big brèast while Woman B has small one- It doesn't mean one is inferior to other. Same as in men.
Using organs to argue doesn't fit in.
Equal right means Men and Women should be seen as the same in the soceity. Thoughts about them shouldn't differ.
Lol.
You took my statement literally.
Anyway...

Yes thoughts about male and females should differ immensely. They both have different roles to play in the society. Trying to see them as "the same" in a bid to be politically correct is to try and create a social utopia. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE.

Ermm, the girl post struck me when she used Beyonce fame, popularity and whatever to insult other women that share different views from her.
How does surname really matter in human being? I don't think it really does, except if the woman is a celebrity i.e her name and surname would be needed.
You might not even be aware that your wife is answering another name.
I'm still in my teen years. grin
Oh. I see.

There's no where I argued they should bear their mothers name.
It's weird to answer their mothers name.
My stance is that a woman shouldn't be forced to change her fathers name except if she's willing to do so.
And most people assume she is willing to do so when she meets a man she loves. She loves him so much that she is willing to trade her father's name for his own and leave her father's house to his house, and stop depending on her father but depend on him instead. That's why she changes her name to his own.

Lmao! I didn't remove it now. It has been long I did that.
More like some Male Nairalanders were playing with their genders and I also did so.
I finally removed it when Seun banned Tosyne2much for changing from male to female. cheesy
I didn't mean you removed it just now. It was a while ago, yes. But why the deception in the first place? You even put a female pic then if i remember correctly.

I believe in equal human right in all ramifications(genders, sexuality etc).

I don't care if my wife-to-be answers any name. What I hate is when any gender tries to showcase a superiority complex.

No one should insult Chimamanda for not changing her name and her husband shouldn't be called weaklings neither should Beyonce be insulted for changing hers. To each on her own.

I've come to know that most powerful female celebrities either hyphenate their surname with husband's own or don't change it at all.
Some Nairaland guys are just empty chest-beater. Mhen, their egos need to be lessened.

Ermm, why would I wish to be a female? I'm male....undecided Smh
But you sound female. And its not because of your apparently noble ideals either.
I'm not the first person to mistake you for a female. Even when some questions are posted at females you respond. It makes you look...somehow.

If the sexes were equal, God should have given all of us pen1ses and mammary glands. Not being 'equal' doesn't make one group less special than the other. We excel in our different genders. We have different functions. This is what makes us Unique.

Not caring if your wife answers your name or not is your opinion. However I would like to know how old you are. Why is this important? The closer you are to taking up the responsibility of marriage, the more likely I will take this your opinion seriously. If you marry a woman properly, how will you let others know she is now yours? A woman bearing your name is not a sign of superiority complex, it is a huge responsibility. It means she is yours to take care of for the rest of your life. Its not fun at all so don't take it lightly.

Powerful female celebrities keep their father's names(its not even theirs, its their fathers') because of the popularity the name brings and the doors such famous names open. Even if you Google Dr Ivara Esege you will realize that nobody knows him; but the moment you say "Chimamanda's husband" then the name rings a bell. Google it now and you will see Dr Esege is not known without Chimamanda until the second page of Google. Chimamanda cannot afford to change her name to "Mrs Esege"; she will quickly fade into obscurity if she does hence the need to retain her name.
Before you mention Beyonce as having being famous and yet changed her name, remember that Beyonce is known by her first name and not so much by "Knowles" which is her surname.

You once had (f) at the end of your name, francistony. you have removed it now. I don't know why you would want to be mistaken for a female but I respect your right in making that decision.

Chimamanda? A role model? Smh..... A role model said gals are not supposed to close their legs, and that's what I call stupidity
She became a loud mouthed feminist only recently in order to sell more of her books in my opinion. I read that line where she said girls were thought to close their legs as if it was a derogatory thing female children were being forced to do. Some people just do hero worship without thinking.
Anyway Chimamanda dear, you know I admire you and some of your works. No beefing on my part but sometimes your stance in this feminist thing is suspect.

1) I'm a male.

2) Chimamanda is a role model to both single and married.
...just so you don't know, Chimamanda is married to Dr. Ivara Isege.
But in most of your posts, you sound like a disgruntled female.

bro,no matter how careful you are, just pray to God for good marriage, people change after marriage. A once loving partner can be bedrock of hatred, talking from first hand experience...

People react differently to issues, what you can take in stride,is enough to end some people's marriage. My cousin left his wife, claiming she's dirty. This is someone he dated for 6years before marriage.

So marriage is very complicated..
As in, your cousin divorced his wife because she was untidy in the house?
did they do church wedding? Did they have children?
I can understand some things will make a marriage unbearable but untidiness sounds a little petty to me.

She should better broach the subject and clear the air before he goes all Jack the Ripper on her cheating heinie.
According to her, her husband is the "walk away and cool off type". Has hit her only once since the marriage, apparently not the violent type. my colleagues said to give her drugs and send her home and she should be extra nice to him and all will be well. But with all this stuff i see on nairaland about man stabbing woman am not so comfortable with that.

Anybody that pretends to swallow such without even seeking an apology or explanation is mean and may be planning Armageddon.
she said she tried to bring it up that night but he refused. Told her they would discuss it later. Unfortunately she hasnt attempted to broach the subject again since then.

A woman came to the hospital today very anxious, sleep deprived, poor appetite, headache, generally a nervous wreck. When questioned she says her husband caught her cheating on him by walking in on them in a compromising position at her shop.

He responded by turning and walking away. She returned home later that evening after thinking of how best to confront the situation but the man has not brought up the matter since then.

She said it has been over a week now and Oga is carrying on as if nothing happened and she is going crazy with anxiety because she doesn't know what is running through his mind.

I asked if she had done something like this before and she swore she hadn't, that it was bad judgement on her part with a former ex. I suggested she be the one to breach the subject to her husband but some of my colleagues believe she should let sleeping dogs lie and take a sedative.

What do you guys think?

margaree:
Hello nairalanders.
I'm new here and I actually joined because of the challenge I have with my son's skin...my son has CMA- cow milk allergy- which caused him to develop a rash that thickened his skin right from the 2nd day of his birth. I didn't know it was CMA so I changed from Johnsons to Aveeno. It improved but after a while, it went back to the way it was and became even worse and very dry. I took him to the hospital and the doctors gave me ketacanozole cream which I used but it only cleared his face. I did a research on the internet and came up with baby tribotan. The baby tribotan cleared up the rash but it left his skin very dry, wrinkly and also multicolored- he's dark but now some areas like his elbow, knees, back, ankle area down to his toes are darker.
Please what can I do to make my baby's skin whole again?
Thanks very much for your help.
PS: I stopped every form of milk so rash is no longer the problem.
You can start by leaving his skin alone. He's a baby, not a beauty contestant. He will heal.

Why aren't you breastfeeding your baby? Wouldnt that have saved you all this stress?

Correct me if i am wrong but Johnson's and Aveeno are baby skin care products aren't they? What have they got to do with the CMA?
HealthRe: RIP DJDOLA- We Will Miss You by Royver(m): 11:50pm On Dec 21, 2014
Please just for clarification, the doctors are not on strike. It is the nurses and other health staff that are on strike. Depending on the department you intend on going to the doctors might be admitting patients. So please check the hospitals very well. Most of them are working on outpatient basis but some departments are admitting patients with doctors taking care of the patients in the ward.

Two months later

Miss Zainab Adamu walked into Industrial Trust Bank and nodded in acknowledgement to the greetings she received from the other bankers. It had been quite easy for her to get her job back at the bank since her late father had after all put everything in her name and the Board of Trustees were more than pleased to keep management of the bank in the family. She walked to her office and checked to make sure she had no outstanding issues; then she went casually to the vault room.

She walked down to the Special Items Unit and searched around for the vault marked with the number for a special deposit made by Mr. Dino Brown as she has seen on the ledger she and Rimi had spent two nights tracing through. When she spotted it, she used the Bank’s master key to open it.

There inside was one of the strangest boxes she had ever seen. It was small and rectangular but very heavy when she tried to lift it. She brought out the golden Key from her pocket and used it to open the thick box. Inside was a chip. She took the chip and closed the box back and locked the vault.

Back at the house, Rimi came out of the bathroom, a towel around his waist and sat in front of his laptop. He moved his left shoulder, happy that there was no longer any pain from the bullet wound he had gotten at Don Kamir’s place. Inspector Bello had interrogated him a couple of times but decided he had nothing to do with the saga that had occurred after his release. The Jewelry box that had been stolen at the Mr Adamu’s Jeweler shop had been found at Uche and Tonia’s apartment and once their bodies were found at Christopher’s place along with the information from Don Kamir’s mansion, the inspector surmised that Tonia and Uche had been killed in a sort of deal gone bad with Don Kamir and Dino brown. Rimi had been finally released from police scrutiny and was now a free man. He had since proposed marriage to Zainab who had happily agreed.

Rimi accessed the chip with the bank’s online account software. It produced a certain code for a bank account, with access to whoever possessed the code. Rimi clicked on the button for account balance. He whistled.

“Honey, its saying Twenty billion dollars! With full access to fourteen different Swiss bank accounts!” He shifted nervously in his seat. “Is there any way this can be traced back to us?”

“Nope. Completely untraceable. I ambiguously asked one of our technical gurus at the bank.” Zainab’s voice came from the bathroom.

“Whoa. I can see why those guys were willing to kill for this. What are we going to do with all this money? Open a charity? Buy oil blocks? Buy a country?”

“Ahem,” Zainab said and Rimi turned around. Zainab was standing at the bathroom door wearing a silky nightgown that accentuated all her curves. She looked so beautiful in the bathroom light and she smiled mischievously at Rimi and his heart skipped a beat.

“Wow.” He said, getting to his feet.

“Take care of me first, then we can talk about our money.” she said.

Rimi grinned and switched off the laptop as he took Zainab in his arms. They would worry about the money tomorrow. Tonight he had the love of his life in his arms and he was going to cherish every moment.

THE END.

FINAL CHAPTER

THE END OF ALL THINGS

Don Kamir backed away from the CCTV in shock. He was sweating profusely and the gun in his hand shook violently. This was the same guy Dino Brown had sent after him! He had dispatched most of his guards and now had just killed Crystal! He picked up the comm. and tried to call any of his remaining guards to help him but most of them had already fled the scene. He paced around the desk confused and muttering to himself. Finally he made a decision. He picked up his mobile phone and dialed a number.

“Hello? Inspector? I need you to come to my house right away, someone is trying to kill me…Donald Kamir, former senator…Yes Yes I am still alive…Look if you don’t believe me how many people know that you received the sum of N1million every month to turn a blind eye to the Crimson mansion at Cedar point, regardless of whatever went on there?…Alright, alright, come immediately.”

He cut the call and looked at Zainab and Rimi.

“The police will be here in fifteen minutes exactly.” He shook his head.”I never thought I would need their help. At least I’ll be locked safely in here until they come then I can tell them whatever I want and bribe my way through.” He stopped and turned his attention to the CCTV as One Bullet made his way upstairs.

Rimi knew where this was going. He stood, carrying Zainab up in the process. This man was probably going to kill them as they were of no use to him anymore. He glanced at Zainab and smiled.

“I love you.” He whispered.

Zainab looked up at him, her eyes still bulging in fear.

“What are you planning on doing?” she whispered back, but was cut short by Don Kamir as he began to speak again.

“You two are of no use to me. That guy coming upstairs is a hardened killer and will most likely shoot through you to get at me. And I don’t want the police getting their hands on you, you know too much-“

He had barely finished speaking when Rimi charged him, screaming as loudly as he could, using his body as a shield to protect Zainab from the line of fire. Don Kamir was taken completely by surprise and fired wildly at Rimi. The Shot went through his left shoulder muscle but Rimi didn’t stop. Before Don Kamir could fire another shot Rimi had knocked the gun out of his hand and they tumbled over the large desk. Don Kamir punched Rimi hard on his injured shoulder and Rimi cried out in pain. Don Kamir then began to strangle Rimi, using his hands to squeeze his throat and cut off his oxygen supply. Rimi began to see white spots before his eyes as he started to black out. There was a shot and Don Kamir cried out, letting go of Rimi who struggled backwards gasping for air. He looked up to see Zainab pointing the gun at Don Kamir.

“You killed my father!” She screamed.

“Now, take it easy, Zainab!” Don Kamir said, his face swollen with fear. Blood oozed from his left leg as Don Kamir went on his knees to beg the angry daughter of the man he had agreed should be killed.

“You joined Dino Brown in signing my father’s death warrant! Murderer!” She cried, the gun in her hand shaking violently.

“And you’ll be a murderer too if you pull the trigger! Once you kill you can’t go back!”Don Kamir begged. “Spare my life! Show me that you are better than me! Don’t use me to taint your innocent hands!”

“I hate to agree with the monster, but he is right.” Rimi said, getting to his feet and approaching Zainab carefully. “The police won’t understand why you killed him, Zainab. There is no place in the law for revenge killing. Please I don’t want to lose you to prison. Please give me the gun!”

Zainab wept hot tears as Rimi gently coaxed the gun away from her hands. She held unto Rimi as he hugged her, wincing in pain as she leaned on his injured arm. He pointed the gun at Don kamir.

“The Access code for the door. Tell me or I shoot your other leg and keep shooting until the police arrive.”

“You dare not!” Don Kamir shouted. Rimi sighed and pointed the gun at his other leg and the Don screamed.

“No! No ! I’ll tell you!” He gasped. “55343078!”

Rimi went to the door and punched in the access code and it opened. Immediately One Bullet entered. Don Kamir’s eyes widened in shock. In his panic he had completely forgotten the assassin was outside.

“We don’t want any trouble.” Rimi said, holding Zainab protectively while aiming the gun at One Bullet.

One bullet ignored them and walked into the room towards Don Kamir who was still on his knees.

“Please…” Don Kamir began.

One Bullet didn’t wait for him to finish but emptied the rest of bullets from the Uzi into Don Kamir. He watched as Don Kamir slumped lifeless to
the floor in a pool of his own blood.

“This time stay dead.” He said.

He walked back to where Rimi and Zainab stood by the door trembling in fear.

“You both should leave before the police get here unless you want to be involved in this mess.” He said.

“You aren’t going to hurt us?” Zainab asked fearfully. One Bullet shrugged.

“You are not on my list. You never were.”

And then he was gone.

“Let’s get out of here.” Rimi said, grabbing Zainab’s hand. Zainab removed her hand from his grasp and ran to Don Kamir’s desk. She searched around until she saw the gold key. She took it and went back to Rimi who looked at her quizzically.

“The way I see it, it belonged to my dad as well, at least it was in his keep before your friends stole it.” She blurted out.

“I’m not objecting, but we need to get out of here fast!” Rimi said, hearing the sound of sirens in the distance. He grabbed her and running with her down the stairs, they ran out of the mansion a moment before the police arrived with Inspector Bello leading the charge.
