Can this thread be about Aouth Africas natural beauty I decided to not put buildings or people in this thread.I wanted to showcase the landscape of South Africa, not all its developments which are the because of 'whites' and its wicked evil black people.

Umaru Yaradua leaving the King Faisal Specialist Hospital after being discharged by physicians. Thank God he made it finally and the enemies will eventually be put to shame.
The picture was taken during President Zuma inaugaration at Union Building in Pretoria almost two years ago,On BBC this morning they showed pictures of a small Presidential plane arriving and an abulance drove closer and drove off and then when another bigger plane came the abulance also drove to it and pictures where blocked for sometime and the abulance drove off with the  presidential convoy to the palace.
TravelRe: Why Don't Africans Spend Their Holidays More In Africa by RSA(m): 9:01am On Feb 23, 2010
In South Africa the goverment is trying to encourages more people to be tourists in their own country, they have a program called Short-Left which encourages domestic tourism.I think first as Africans we must develop the culture of touring. And we must first start within our countries and then our regions and through out our continent.
Research in South Africa has shown that the domestic travel/tourism has a positive impact on the local economy.I mean if more and more locals takes weekends holidays more jobs are created and also infrastructures in small towns develops.

The culture is developing in South Africa, and people now do understand that you don't have to be rich to go on a holidays, all you need is to plan ahead.Right now in SA there are leasure Clubs where you can buy holiday space and pay monthly until you've got enough credits to go where you want.

Personaly I have been to all Southern Africa countries most of them by road.I visit Mozambique every year(my father was born there,so I visits family),I also do Botswana atleast every two season, and have been going to Zimbabwe for the past three years(last year was just for holidays but the other two years was for a wedding and funeral of friends families).I did Zambia last year.Lesotho,Swaziland and Namibia are also the countries that I frequently vists.

But the places I like visiting most are in South Africa.Outside SADC I have been to Lagos for 3 days and didn't get the time to see the place but I'm happy that atleast I have touched down.Kenya and Uganda where also places I have visited. So as South African I would like to answer your question by saying the domestic tourism in Africa culture is developing, give it a time.Because Africa now is more safer than ever.

The more Africans touring their continent the more countries will relax their visa requirements, because that will be wise business decision.

Dalai Lama speak.

1. What is life like for the Tibetans still living in China?

"Tibetans within Tibet live in constant fear, and the Chinese authorities remain constantly suspicious of them. Their religion, culture, language and identity are near extinction."
(March 2009)

2. How bad is it? "The Tibetan people are regarded like criminals, deserving to be put to death."
(March 2009)

3. How did this situation begin?

"Around 1949, Communist forces began to enter north-eastern and eastern Tibet. By 1950, more than 5,000 Tibetan soldiers had been killed."
(March 2009)

4. And how did you finally get out?

"Accompanied by a small party of Tibetan government officials… I escaped into exile in India. Thereafter, nearly 100,000 Tibetans fled into exile in India, Nepal and Bhutan. During the escape and the months that followed, they faced unimaginable hardship."
(March 2009)

5. And what are your feelings about the Chinese?

"From time immemorial, the Tibetan and Chinese peoples have been neighbors. In [the] future too, we will have to live together. Therefore, it is most important for us to co-exist in friendship with each other."
(March 2009)

6. Peaceful co-existence is obviously preferable, but what if that does not happen?

"We must also prepare ourselves well in case the Tibetan struggle goes on for a long time. For this, we must focus primarily on the education of our children and the nurturing of professionals in various fields."
(March 2009)

7. What's the solution?

"Tibetans are looking for a legitimate and meaningful autonomy, an arrangement that would enable Tibetans to live within the framework of the People’s Republic of China."
(March 2009)

8. Why do you maintain your philosophy of non-violence?

"Because violence can only breed more violence and suffering, our struggle must remain non-violent and free of hatred. We are trying to end the suffering of our people — not to inflict suffering upon others."
(December 1989)

9. Define peace.
"Peace does not mean an absence of conflicts — differences will always be there. Peace means solving these differences through peaceful means: through dialogue, education and knowledge."
(November 2006)

10. And finally, how does Buddhism inform your world view?
"Although I have found my own Buddhist religion helpful in generating love and compassion — even for those we consider our enemies — I am convinced that everyone can develop a good heart and a sense of universal responsibility, with or without religion."

(December 1989
Christianity EtcRe: Christian God, Muslim Allah Same? No by RSA(m): 9:33am On Feb 22, 2010
@Benodic I like what I'm reading from you,I could read your post the whole day.I think the biggest thing that make lot of people get hooked to their religion is the 'God love us more' syndrome.Jesus didn't teach this but most Christians believe their religion is the only religion and that anyone who is not following its teaching is a sinner no matter how good you are as a human being.

Jesus was preaching peace, tolerance and humanity.Present day Christians are preaching the opposite,if you're not with them then you're an enemy or you've got demon and you need prayers to cast your demons out.

I grew up in a very religious Christian family and when you question certain things,I remember my mother use to make me kneel and cast out all the evil spirits in me and this use to upset me a lot.Muslims or other religions in my house where considered evil and satanic.

I knew from my heart that I love God and my love for God wanted me to find out why we are so divided and how come God choose certain group over the other even when all of them proclaim their love him?.

Today I can happily say I consider my self a child of God,and as  a child of God it means I carry his surname, which means I'm God and everybody around me is also God and we are all here to do God's work.Which is doing the right things, tolerance, peace, humanity and caring for each other.I am the happiest man today because I know the power I posses and the influence I've got to not only change or influence my life (positive or Negative) but of everybody around me.

Benodic from the little bit you've said it as opened my eyes and heart.A friend of mine once told me that Mandela practices or follow the teachings of Bhudah or Bhuddism,I know because he is also a very close friend of the Dalai Lama.
And also I was told by someone that Jesus was a monk in his early years and that the first people that knew who he was where men from the EAST,and we all know the who the people of the east are.

One clue that shows that Jesus recieved the Budhism teaching is when Jesus teach people that when someone hit on right give them also your left side, this is complety opposite to what the Jews religion teaches,it say an eye for an eye.

Mandela also has shown many clues of his Budhism teachings, you can tell that the old man has a peace from within,he has no enemy, meaning he does not hold grudges. And he try to give as much as he can to the people.

I think in years to come maybe hundreds or thousand there will be people who will use Mandela's path to follow God.

If it was in South Africa the magical X words would have been used millions time. And also you'll have reminded us how lazy and uneducated our people are.Now it is Zimbabwe your debate is balanced and there is no mentioned of xenophobia.

Do you know in South Africa where millions of Zimbabweans lives you'll never hear a statement like that made by an official of any organisation? But most Nigerians still consider South Africans blacks as the most xenophobic in the continent?

Nigeria flushed Ghananians out of their country before,Zimbabwe want to flush Nigerians out of their country,South Africa has never said it want to flush other Africans out of their country and there are more African immigrants in South Africa than anywhere in Africa, and research say most of them live peacefully here than where they come from.

^^^1,2 I won't go to the extent of saying I don't know what Nigerians do in South Africa although the is a quite significant numbers of Nigerians and some West Africans in South Africa who just sit in the street corners in Hillbrow and Sunnyside and one wonders how they earn their living. But I also know a lot of Nigerians who are owning small busineses like Internet Cafe's,Clothing Stores and Hair Salon also there are lot of Professors,Doctors, teachers and other professionals in South Africa not forgeting that there is a big percentage of Nigerians who runs churches, big and small.

My point is we don't have to generalise, lately I have seen changed of attitude among most Nigerians in South Africa, there is less arrogance and there for make it easy to befriend locals or develop relationship.

I miss intellectuals like BIKO who were real gems in the South African populous. People who could argue political and social issues with a reasonable IQ not the ones who keep comparing skyscrapers, how many tourists come to the country and how westernized their societies appear.

I haven't seen any leaders in your ANC who possess such intellecutal prowess and are able to chart or present a vision for the future of your country yet.

Some of you have become disllusioned Uncle tom's who are now content on Nando's chicken and driving the latest cars, the rest are scrambling for money and power trying to become the new BEE elite.

Steven BIKO WHERE ARE YOU, ASIMBONANGA!!?

The reality is Africa as a whole lacks leaders like Bantu Biko.

Yes Wayne listen and take this old men advises,it's not as easy as you've been told.Education is the key,the problem in South Africa is not the lack of jobs, there is plenty of Jobs but you must have an education, experience and skills.

You don't want to hustle with a poor uneducated South African man for same jobs grin they will eat you alive grin.

But if you have all the things mentioned on the top, you'll enjoy a peaceful and happy life in RSA I promise you.South Africa is two countries in one, you've got the poor third world SA and rich first world SA,and based on your education,Skills and experience it will depend on which country you'll live in.

The poor third world RSA is tough, that is where alchohol is abused, most crimes happen there, most foreign people are found there, and because the resources are scarce there, people don't trust each other, xenophobic people live there.

First World South Africa will offer you good infrustructures, good private health system(medical aid is a must),safe neighbourhood, good schools for your kids, good nightlife, good life just like any european developed country. If you live in this South Africa your life will be complete and there wont be any need to go to europe for a better life cause every thing europe have SA will have it and more.

So choose Wayne you want to hussle in the third world SA or go to first World SA? Choice is yours.
