Whoa!I am amased by your knowledge on SA music,I am a South African and a big fan of Nigerians music, esspecially what is comming out now,My son is four years old and whenever Ikechukwu,Naeto C,P Square,Two Face,Sasha plays he call me and we do the dance(you know the hand thing).
Femi and Fela Kutis are big in SA,Last time Femi was here he perfomed in front of 20 to 30 thousand people in Johannesburg and you know that when you talk about life perfomence Femi is the King(I could still see and hear him saying Bang!Bang!Bang when I close my eyes). He later went to Soweto where he perfomed I think for about 60 thousand people,it was like a rock star has landed in SA,he invaded SA it was amazing.

After reading this I think I should start a promotions company that will bring SA artist to Nigeria and virsa versa,we got to open the market,I need a partner Nigeria.

Guys I want u to help,we have couple of Nigerian players in the league(SA premier League) and would want you to tell me if you know them.
Maybe If you are interested I can update you on their progress.

1. Felix Obada he plays for a team called Thanda Zulu Royals, the team was bought two season ago by swedish consortium that include sven eriksson and his son,Obada just came back from a week trial with a Swedish team called Malmo Fc.He is midfielder and is doing really well.

2.Greg Etafia plays for Moroka Swallows a goalkeeper,he is one of the longest serving member of the team,he is been a captain on many occations, represented Nigeria on couple of occations,he have been awarded a south african citizenship and is registered as a local boy, therefore creating space for an foreign player(SA teams have only five spot for foreign players)

3.Pere Ariweriyai a tough defender, strongly build and tall.Pere plays for Amazulu,a that is based in Durban,he is one of their best player.

So out of this three wich one are you guys familiar with.

By Hosea Ramphekwa

Mamelodi Sundowns are set to reveal former Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard as their new manager.

In a dramatic move away from the traditional South African model, Rijkaard could take the reins and be given the right to administer the club much in the way English clubs are run.

In the English Premiership a manger like Sir Alex Ferguson of Manchester United is the supremo running many aspects of the club.

Although Sundowns boss Patrice Motsepe is being cagey about the identity of the man to take over from Trott Moloto, sources told Pretoria News that the Dutch legend Rijkaard is likely to be at helm with Moloto as his assistant.

"Motsepe is playing his cards close to his chest. The manager is certainly a foreigner but I think he will go for Rijkaard," said a well placed source.

Rijkaard fits the bill of the manager, whom Motsepe described without actually naming him during an announcement of a sponsorship deal between his club and car manufacturers Chrysler/Dodge at Grand Central Motors in Midrand.

"We are going to employ a manager and the whole team will be under him. A manager who has operated at a higher level. We need somebody who has a great track record," said Motsepe.

"The manager will select his team and share his ideas with the technical team. It is very expensive exercise, but we will make an announcement in due time, said Motsepe."

Bringing Rijkaard, who led Barcelona to Uefa Champions League glory in 2006, to Chloorkop is certainly going to cost the third richest person in the country an arm and a leg. The former Ajax Amsterdam player, who brought Barcelona to these shores last year to play Sundowns will definitely not come cheap.

Motsepe said of the seven candidates he spoke to, "four of them said we should do away with our technical team but we said no because we want our people to learn".

Motsepe said the move to appoint a manager is not a suggestion that he has lost faith in current coach Moloto.

"I have got a lot of faith in the coach but we haven't reached our targets. Every coach's success is based on results and we haven't had results. That's why we are taking this kind of action," said Motsepe, who added that the decision followed recommendations by the committee that was looking at the club's poor performances.

The Brazilians boss also addressed the crisis that has hit his club recently. The crisis includes misconduct by players and said technical director Ted Dumitru, whom fans were calling for his removal, is staying put.

"I never employed Ted to be a coach at the club. His involvement is like everywhere in the world. His main objective is to identify the best talent and focus on it. Ted is going nowhere," said Motsepe.

Motsepe also read a riot act to wayward defender Mbulelo "OJ"Mabizela.

"At Sundowns nobody is bigger than the club. If anybody lacks discipline we will take strong action against them. We will not allow lack of discipline," he said.

The billionaire was elated about the one year deal he signed with Chrysler, who offered Downs 18 cars yesterday.

"We are excited about deal with Chrysler. Chrysler and Dodge make some of the best vehicles and we are confident that our relationship will contribute to an increase in the sales of their excellent vehicles."

Chrysler SA's managing director David Elmore said: "The choice of Sundowns for a sponsorship deal of this nature is fitting as it combines the various dynamic brands that will compliment each other."

Do you have any idea of the transfer fee of Ezenwa Otorogu and Monday Osagie, ?
I currently have no details but I will let you know as soon as I hear something, but I dont think is anywhere near what Worgu got from Sudan,I am still suprised that between the two SA sides(Kaiser Chiefs and Ajax) he chose the latter, since chiefs is the most succesful, biggest and the richest in the country(its got 13 million supporters accross southern Africa).
Maybe Ajax promised him a big move to sister team in Amstradam after a season but I know for the fact that they don't buy but like to develop their own players.

Nedujizzy did you know that Mikael Obi was at one point as 16 or 15 year old(not sure) was at Ajax cape town for six months send by chelsea before going to europe.?

am kind of really surprised how these sudanese clubs pick up Nigerian players for big bucks, i mean, how do they get returns for their investment when the CAF champions league prize money is just 1,000 000 dollars, and i don't think there is much going on in the sudanese league.
the only avenue i suspect,is when they sell these players to European clubs except that, can someone please tell me whats going on in Sudan[they are in a civil war or something and yet they can afford to splash such cash around]
Oil money my brother, its got nothing to do with investment returns its about Sudanese image, this teams are the extention of the national team.I am sure that goverment sponsor both of them.

I realised that the show will suck after Latoya was voted out instead of Tawana,I knew that it was a sign or pattern Africa will use to vote in future.Viewers hated the untouchable from last season soo much that anyone who look or behave like them is voted out.And again until we judge people by their charactors not by country of their birth we will start doing the right thing, keeping entertainers irrespective of where they're coming from.
Here is my advise to Mnet, from Jan to March have BB South Africa, and from April to July have BB West Africa, and from August to October BB East and Southern Africa(like they did on east african idols). All of us will still be voting, maybe as it is(one vote per country) or by majority votes.

This is where we will see real or deserving winners.

Ajax beat Chiefs on Nigerian striker!
Submitted: 0 days ago

The Siya crew has it on good authority that Ajax Cape Town are set to welcome Enyimba duo Ezenwa Otorogu and Monday Osagie to their stable soon.

Otorogu, who is a striker, has been an Urban Warriors target for some time and it seems the club has acted fast in a bid to lure the player to Ikamva. Meanwhile, Osagie is a central defender.

An agent of the two players has been quoted in Nigerian media as saying, “The players have agreed personal terms with Ajax. What is left is for both clubs to agree on the transfer fee.”

The prolific striker has previously told the Siya crew that he’s aware of interest from South Africa, but could not think much about it since Enyimba were still involved in the Caf Champions’ League. But the club has bombed out of the African club competition and Ajax were quick to snatch him.

Kaizer Chiefs were also reported to be interested in Otorogu’s services and the player recently told the Siya crew he’d like to join Chiefs as he wants out of Enyimba, but the Chiefs guys never really followed up on their interest and Ajax seem to be having the last laugh.

SportsMaradona To Coach Argentina? by RSA(op): 11:55am On Oct 22, 2008
Former Argentina forward Jorge Valdano has warned his country not to appoint Diego Maradona as national team coach, saying the 1986 World Cup captain’s lack of experience would make it a risky move.

Valdano also said he regretted Alfio Basile’s resignation as Argentina coach last Thursday following the previous night’s World Cup qualifying defeat in Chile.

Maradona, who said in a television interview on Friday he would be delighted to accept the Argentina job, has emerged as an outside candidate to replace Basile.

“Diego has no experience, apart from sporadic and short interventions,” Valdano, Maradona’s teammate in the 1986 World Cup side, told the TyC cable sports channel.

Maradona had two brief stints as coach of Deportivo Mandiyu and then Racing Club in the mid-1990’s.

“I have the maximum respect for him, but he hasn’t done any background work, which is a basic necessity for coaches who aspire to the highest level.

“It appears risky to me. It’s difficult to land on your feet as coach of the national team.”

Carlos Bianchi, Sergio Batista and Miguel Angel Russo remain the favourites to take over as manager while Carlos Bilardo, coach in 1986 and 1990, has cropped up as a rank outsider.

“It’s sad that the collective failure of the national team has been concentrated into the hands of the coach (Basile),” Valdano added.

“The coach symbolises more than the players but these have a collective responsibility.”

The new coach’s biggest dilemma will be whether to persist with controversial playmaker Juan Roman Riquelme after his recent inconsistent performances.

“Riquelme always needs to be one of the main players,” said Valdano. “It’s impossible to have him in the team without giving him all the responsibility.”

Horst R. Schmidt brings his wealth of FIFA World Cup bidding and hosting experience to the Soccerex 2008 conference programme.

Three years ago FIFA hired Horst R. Schmidt remains adamant that the 2010 FIFA World Cup will be an incredible spectacle.

On a recent FIFA and LOC inspection tour around South Africa’s World Cup stadiums, he stated, "I think that Soccer City is one of the most exciting sites I've ever seen in my sporting life".

As well as playing an integral role in preparing South Africa for the most illustrious sporting show on earth he maintains his position as Treasurer for the Deutscher Fussball-Bund (DFB). Horst R. Financially its a good decision but career wise thats a bad bad move,I know that lately the sudanesse top two teams have been doing well in Africa's club competitions but their league have only two teams and I think he wont get the exposer that he need in order to attrack the top european teams, but God works in mysterious way maybe this will afford him time to shine he is only 19,time is on his side.
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa III (3): Official Thread by RSA(m): 3:22pm On Oct 21, 2008
To be honest,Big Brother Africa is failure, anyone with a charactor will be voted out,we hate people who are clever, manipulative, streetwise yet the game is all about that,Last year (sori nairaland) we kept Ofuneka for what?she did nothing to be in the top three and this year we are doing it again, why not vote TK or Thami out? and leave Mimi who was the most entertaining person in the house.

Looking at how things stand,Tawana,Thami,Hazel maybe munya will form an allience, next nomination will be Rico(again) and Morris and obviuosly Morris will be voted out and Ricco will have a choice of choosing between the two couples.
SportsRe: Enyimba Fans: Let's meet here by RSA(m): 9:26am On Oct 21, 2008
Qouta point taken, like I said we are narrow minded.Yes I may aggree that we lack talent but to make things worse is that our teams dont send thier strongest teams to this competitions, they send their development teams. And until our teams take this seriouly we will never know for real if we are that behind.
I think this season will be different though,Supersport United is taking this competion seriously.Their owners are doing business in Africa and they would want their team to go all the way, they have a strong team with couple of international from across the continent.
And also Ajax Cape town will be trying hard, ajax is a selling team therefore to them its important for their players to play international competitions to add value to thier CV'S

Hardluck to Enyimba I watched that game and unfortunatly they where outplayed Ahly is a difficult team to beat at home.
Regarding Bafana Bafana I know that we are written off but South Africans have the tedency to do well when no one is expecting them to do so,I just hope that we pick at the right time and suprise the world.

SA has made us proud on many occations on the short space of time,in 16 years of playing international competions SA won AFCON once, runners up once, third also once and we have qualified for the world cup twice.I think at the moment we are going through a bad patch and things will get back to normal.
Pss also during that period Orlando Pirates won CAF champions cup,and Kaizer Chiefs won Confedation cup.
SportsRe: Enyimba Fans: Let's meet here by RSA(m): 9:29am On Oct 20, 2008
QuotaSyste:
@RSA, how much pay do SA league winners take home at the end of every year's league? African champions league is a sorry US$1Million.
@QuotaSyste the league winner this year will get US$1,3 Million and next year it will increase, and at the same time teams are getting a monthly grant of +-US $290 000 and obviously all  teams have sponsors and also gate takings,it is a profitable business. The cheapes team/franchise in the league worth around 13 mil USD.

And there are cup competitions Telkom Cup,Nedbank cup,MTN.

I must point out that South Africans are narrow minded,Africans competitions are not taken seriously or supported here.Maybe this is the result of being isolated for too long, people forget that the experience one gains in competions like this are very important,Orlando Pirate won the CAF champions league cup in 1995 and the following year majority of those players lifted 1996 AFCON.
SportsRe: Enyimba Fans: Let's meet here by RSA(m): 3:08pm On Oct 17, 2008

don't even dare comparing South Africa to nigeria. South Africa is much more advanced than nigeria in all aspect. I can tell you that Enyimba is the only club in the whole of nigeria (with more football clubs than South Africa) with a web site, yet a non functionig website. Rubbish country.
I think Nigerian authorities must pull up their socks,I know that once that is sorted most major company in Nigeria and abroad will line up to pump money in your league just like in South Africa,Nigeria deserve to be up there in terms of organisation,we need strong leagues in Africa in terms of organisational structures so that we can develop our facilities and infrustructures, football in Africa can be as big as South Americas or even better europe. We can keep our top players and sell them only when the prize is right, like 40 million british pounds grin or some record braking amounts grin
