I strongly recommend that we accommodate the Northerners and give them land for RUGA. grin

They are victims of brainwashing. The earlier we start helping these poor suicidal people from the North, the better for us. The only thing they use to make money is Cattles and we are saying no RUGA. What if they start carrying explosives and bombs? Helping them is for our own good my friend.

Even the 16 years old girls should be shared among us, so we can 'train' them.
Brainwashing?
They perfectly know what they are doing.
You are not more politically knowledgeable than an average Northerner.

We know. But those in power there are not helping their poor. So we must assist them. We have been giving them alms in the South as beggars. The ones who dont beg, we use them as security guards and they polish our shoes. I think we should do more, like giving them free food and clothing and some condoms too. grin
Oh really.?
But when it is time to vote, they would vote their own people in on the basis of ethnicity.

Go and sit down.

Gas would always be relevant.

It is not like crude that is unclean.
Gas is used to power industries, power countries, heating and cooking.

It is invaluable

Lol, ignorance has taken a deep toll in your spine arguing for the sake of it.The problem with most Nigerians is that they are arrogant and have zero intelligence yet you'll be busy screaming that you're the most educated set of Africans.

Look, population has little to do with HDI of a nation, we just need to equip ourselves with the amount of resources we're embedded with in the modest way so as to leapfrog HDI score.Channel your resources in the right track of development and almost everything will improve, South Africa with her resources which they've been putting into proper use, has a higher HDI than Nigeria, in fact it beats Nigeria in all indices of development.

Look at Kenya, it doesn't have any natural resource or rather it's a human resource powered economy which is trying to improve the indices of development with the little they have though some few corruption snitches here and there. They beat Nigeria in almost every index of development including HDI yet they're less resource dependent, so shameful.

Nigeria with its vast natural resources can't still account for its resource wealth till to date as your bustling poverty figures and low HDI scores are concerned, your current hurdles makes you to fall in the bracket of war torn nations like DR Congo and Sudan. And then you'll be hear making noise to other Africans how you're better than them in this and that, nonsense.

If you claim that a country has a higher HDI due to its low population, please answer these boldly;

Why does China has a higher HDI score than Bangladesh yet its population is bigger than that of Bangladesh?

Why does South Africa has a higher HDI score than Zambia yet its population is bigger than that of Zambia?

Why does Kenya has a higher HDI score than Rwanda yet its population is bigger than that of Rwanda?

Am waiting..
HDI has nothing to do with population?
lol
The concept of human development is population based.
The bigger the population, the higher the demand on resources, the lower the development.
It is as simple as that.
Kenya and Rwanda are both small countries, with relatively small economies.
Both play at the same level. There is really no much difference betweens both countries.
Kenya is richer than Rwanda so the population difference is not so much as to influence the HDI.
There is virtually nothing in Kenya that is not in Nigeria.
But how many people are competing for that becomes the question.

Look at this analogy. Nigeria has a GDP of 400billion dollars. By far the biggest economy on the continent.
Now divide the GDP by the population and you would find out that the GDP/capital of Nigeria is very small.
Smaller than many countries in africa.

It is the same with HDI. Our population is so big. Three times bigger than south Africa who is the second, which is very significant.
And most times the bigger the GDP/capital, the higher the HDI.
It is basic economics that even a 10 year old can understand.

I cannot discount the effect of corruption. Corruption is a problem, just like in virtually every part of Africa.

But over population is a critical factor.
The only way to increase our GDP/capital which is directly linked to HDI is by massively increasing our GDP so the population no longer becomes a factor.
If we have a GDP of 1 trillion dollars, there would be so much money to go round for maximum development, even when there is corruption.

Yobeezy:
Yes Kenya is also a corrupt driven society but they're ranked ahead of Nigeria in most basic development indices currently, you can engage yourself in a research for this.

From population to economy? You sound funny.
Why does South Africa has a higher HDI than Nigeria yet Nigeria's economy is the biggest in Africa?

Your low HDI is propelled by just your failures to work on quality of life and among other human development indices, nothing more.

Having a big economy isn't a big achievement after all and has nothing to do with the development of a country, it only shows the total economic output of a given nation.
China has the second largest economy in the world, does it means it's better than other 193 nations in the world? Furthermore, your huge economic size is attributed to your oil and population.

If you claim your government controls large portion of economic wealth in Africa, then why are 100 million Nigerians living in abject poverty?
The largest figure in the world, Why don't they use those wealth appropriately to plummet poverty figures and improve human life?
I don't know how to explain this to you.
It seems education in Kenya leaves a lot to be desired.

The countries with the best HDI in the world are Nordic countries.
Iceland,Finland, Norway, Sweden.
They have better HDI index than America, Canada, Germany.

What is common to those Nordic countries? Very low population.

Their economies cannot match the Germany or Americaof the world, but they have a better HDI than Germany.
Why? Less competition for resources.

Now bring that back to developing countries.
These countries are not developed yet. They are trying to develop.
Now add overpopulation into the mix and you have a much bigger responsibility even with a large economy.
One in every five African is a Nigerian. That is some serious responsibility that cannot be underestimated when it comes to resource allocation and its effect on HDI.

The only way to improve our HDI to world class standards is to reduce population growth and massively grow the economy to support the already existing overpopulation.

That is a responsibility the likes of Kenya will never be able to fathom or understand.
When your country has the same level of responsibility, then come back and tell me about HDI.

Stop using population as an excuse to hide a white linen, why does US have a higher HDI than Nigeria despite it's bustling population of 300+ million, this is lame.

Kenya has a higher HDI than Rwanda yet its population is almost four times of Rwanda, does this means Kenya has a higher HDI than Rwanda due to its overpopulation? This reasoning is illogic and uncalled for.

Your low HDI is attributed to your failures to invest in indices of HDI such as life expectancy, healthcare, quality of life, access to water and among others backed by your corrupt politicians.

Instead of wasting your energy screaming to Kenyans how you're better than them in everything yet when analysis is done one by one, Kenya dethrones Nigeria in most aspects, you should reserve it for mega revcolution against your corrupt politicians.
The US has a bigger economy than Africa combined.
So yes, you are right in a way.
But our economy is not that great to sustain such high HDI index for such a big population like america would.

So Nigeria would need to significantly grow the economy to at least a trillion dollars .

You keep talking about corruption as if it is only in Nigeria.
Kenya is also highly corrupt.

Though I understand the obsession with Nigeria. The Nigerian government are in charge of more wealth than anywhere else in Africa.
So the figures in Nigeria tends to be mind blowing.

Kenya is ranked ahead of Nigeria in most basic development indices currently, this is a bitter pill for you to swallow.
Just visit the Kenya Nigeria thread and peruse through from page 1 to 4000+.
You'll curse your ignorance, the problem with most Nigerians is that they're extremely ignorant and have zero intelligence, talking as if other African nations are living in stone age.
Many countries are ranked ahead of Nigeria in HDI same as India.

Overpopulation plays a role here. A country with a $10 billion economy but with 15 million should have a higher HDI than a $100billion economy that has 130 million people.
It is simple. It doesn't mean Kenya is better.

We are both developing countries, with Nigeria having by far the bigger economy.
And when you factor in corruption and overpopulation, it is not surprising that Kenya has a higher HDI than Nigeria.

Many countries in west Africa have a higher hdi than Nigeria, yet Nigeria account for 70% of the economy in the subregion.

Thats besides the point

Nobody is applauding insecurity. But its unpatriotic to always look for every and anything bad with the country just because u want to hate on buhari
Oh really?
So you know this and your useless APC people didn't apply this during the Jonathan administration?
How many solutions did APC offer Jonathan?
How many council of state meetings did buhari attend?

When obasanjo was capitalizing on insecurity to write letters undermining the GEJ admin, how did APC respond?
Did they condemn it, or rode on it to Victory?
Did the north support Jonathan to defeat insecurity?
Didn't they claim he was a Southerner who wanted to reduce their vote?

If you cannot answer all those questions, then you and your party are hypocrites.

You people instituted politics of madness and you want to reap sanity?
All of una no well.

I don't support those rejoicing over insecurity, though I don't think it is true.

But the real point is that we cannot continue like this. Insecurity is damaging to Nigeria progress.

Face your president and stop insulting people.
