You will still be talking till 2030.....so many pessimists have predicted the fall of crypto but it is going strong. Some of them are mute now maybe they are trading with it. NFTs will still need serious regulations, they just made it very easy for people to steal artists digital work and make money of it. But the concept is good if I should say. |

MARSONE: So a friend sent me a job advert on LinkedIn of a firm looking for a Steam experienced 3rd marine engineer to work on an FPSO in Nigeria.
I sent out my CV to the firm and they got back to me 4 days later asking me to look at the pay scale and reaffirm if they should proceed with the process.
Looking at the pay scale, it was way below what I was expecting and I had to reject it with the below message.
I will be willing to discuss further if the pay is in dollars and monthly take home is above $3500.
NB:
I am UK schooled with all the necessary certifications and very well experienced in my field with double digit years (12 years) experience. From your previous post that's around 2020 you indicated your 20 years old, how come you have 12 years experience in your field? We should be professional enough with our lies please, thank you. |

Okay1234: There's need to introduce new stuufs. It's easier to introduce different fonts and formats on forums like Reddit and even quota without having to go through a near-coding process. New features are all needed, like a block button and banning of IP addresses so that trolls won't be able to create another account after getting banned. Some of Nairaland mods should also be sacked. There is a reason they won't ban IP address. Your public IP address is being recycled by your ISP. It's not a static IP address but a dynamic address which changes constantly. If you decide to start banning IP address, it will also affect innocent users. |
Education › Re: 11 Brand New Courses To Be Taught In South African Universities by RubiesBanking: 6:05pm On Sep 18, 2021*. Modified: 7:32pm On Sep 18, 2021 |
TMKsouth: The South African education authority responsible for media and ICTs (MICT SETA) has developed 11 new qualifications aimed at addressing the shortage of skilled labour in the country's IT sector.
“As the MICT SETA we are excited about our partnership with the Higher Learning Institutions in launching and spearheading the provision of formal training for 4IR (the fourth industrial revolution) in South Africa,” said Matome Madibana - MICT SETA’s acting chief executive.
“We are hopeful that with these 11 qualifications we are going to bridge the current shortage of skilled labour within the ICT and digital industries and, ultimately, increase the employment rate and entrepreneurship.”
The newly developed qualifications are:
1. Artificial Intelligence; 2. Cloud Computing; 3. Cyber Security; 4. Data Science; 5. Design Thinking Lead; 6. Design Thinking Practitioner; 7. Internet of Things; 8. Robotic Processing Automation; 9. Quality Engineering Automation; 10. Systems Development; 11. e-Waste.
Madibana said that these qualifications will equip young professionals and the current workforce to deal with the disruptive effects of new technologies, enabling them to innovate and create new products and services across industries.
The qualifications were developed in collaboration with a community of experts such as universities, colleges, and government departments, he said. Hmm...I'm going into cybersecurity and doing some needed Comptia certification exams to get certified. I will look more into this maybe it can help further my knowledge on the field. |

I really don't blame them to be honest. I still remember when I borrowed one of my guy around 50k and he promised to pay back next week.
When it reached the week he was supposed to pay, i started hearing stories and it kept on going for over 3 months. I had to involve some guys to collect my money from this dude before he could pay back.
And do you know the most funniest thing? The dude started acting as if I'm wicked and all but he decided to block me and not respond to my messages for almost 2 months?
Initially I didn't support what these apps do nowadays calling your contacts to retrieve their money, but honestly most Nigerians are very wicked when it comes to paying back the money they owe. If you don't involve someone to threaten him to pay back you won't see your money.
Some even brag to themselves how they did not pay up thinking they're wise and they pocketed free money. That nonsense attitude must stop.
If you know you don't have a means of paying up during the agreed time it's best you don't go to them for help. |

SportsHD: Which state Is this? They once tried it with me at one petrol station in gwarimpa, in Abuja. I just put the keg in my boot, paid for the petrol I bought and zoomed off. I don't have time for nonsense. That's a ploy for attendants to make extra money. Lagos state to be precise around Ogba. Even the customers that are meant to be supporting you against this illegal charge will be mocking you because they think the money is too small. The money is not an issue but for the fact they claim what they're doing is legal. Even the new fuelling stations that just got opened around the area didn't take long before they started joining them. |

I just stopped near one of the fuelling stations around my area to buy fuel, and I noticed this issue of fuelling stations deducting 50 naira on the basis that they're not meant to sell fuel to customers using kegs. Is it legal what they're doing? And it's almost in every single fuelling station they do this sort of thing. The worst thing about this is if you argue it out with them, they will just take the fuel they sold for you and sell it to another customer whose ready to pay. |

Phones › Facebook Is Letting Religious Groups Charge Users $10 Per Month For Exclusive Co by RubiesBanking(op): 9:02am On Jul 27, 2021 |
Facebook is trying to persuade religious groups to partner with it, The New York Times reported.
The Times reported that Facebook has been courting religious groups since at least 2018, but it's made even more effort over the past year.
The Times spoke with the Leaders of the Church of God in Christ church, which recently trialed two new tools from Facebook to help it make money. The first let worshippers donate to the church while watching livestreamed services, and the second was a $10 subscription service for exclusive content, including messages from the bishop.
The Times also reported that, last month, Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook's chief operating officer, held a virtual summit for faith leaders in the style of a religious service. At the summit, religious leaders discussed new products Facebook had been trialing for their groups.
"Faith organizations and social media are a natural fit because fundamentally both are about connection," Sandberg said, The Times reported.
On Thursday, Reuters reported on Facebook's recent push to appeal to religious groups, saying the company introduced a new "prayer" tool in May.
Facebook did not immediately respond to Insider's request for comment.
Facebook has been partnering with religious groups, The New York Times reported. A US church said Facebook gave it access to new monetization tools. This included a $10 monthly subscription for exclusive content, including messages from the bishop.

Sandberg also touted Facebook's virtual-reality ambitions.
"Our hope is that one day people will host religious services in virtual reality spaces as well, or use augmented reality as an educational tool to teach their children the story of their faith," she added, The Times reported.
Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook's CEO, has championed Facebook's VR division, and he said in an interview last week that he wanted Facebook to become a "metaverse company" — meaning consumers would interact with it in 3D, rather than through their phone screens. https://www.businessinsider.com/facebook-sheryl-sandberg-courts-religious-groups-monetization-tools-2021-7
