Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Should I Inform My Boss Or Ignore And Just Sign? by Rubyjade: 10:47am On Sep 12, 2024 |
I disagree. There's something called Risk Management and Conflict of Interest. Both must be properly managed. If you don't notify them, if at any point you "genuinely" got a contract through your small side business and they find out, the company can validly sue that you used the company's materials or intellectual property to get the contract. But if it is well documented that you told them ahead and they have no objection, then you "might" escape. However, a non-compete means you have to cease that side business as long as it is in the same line of business (conflict of interest) as the organisation. Weigh the pros and cons, then decide if you want to keep the side business or you want to take the offer. Treasure17: You said your wife and not you so I don't think telling your boss about this is necessary and besides the location is different but remember disclosing it might cost you the Job. |

Nazgul: Easy with the lie biko. You're not talking to a kid. I buy this thing almost every weekend and they put it on the scale before I make payment. Do you think I'll pay for something that's not up to a kilo. Which seller in this Tinubu's administration would sell you 8 chicken laps for 1 kilo? Make una de sufry de lie abeg.
You clearly don't buy chicken cos if you do, you won't be making this argument.
I attached a pic below for you to see. What's your location? |

Sapeleboy911: Lol!! I can relate. In my new location my light bill for line 11 (Band A) averages around 45 - 55k monthly, while my rent is 22k monthly. That is understandable though given the fact that I am guaranteed of at least 16 hours of uninterrupted power supply daily. Electricity ain't cheap anywhere around the world. Ask Dubai and UAE resident, it super cheap. |

Never be hungry for success bro but I get where you are coming from The choice is in your hands and if you are feeling like that then I can imagine others at the company do too.
On the flip side, start seeking for new opportunities that will improve your circumstances. Once you get it, leave. But look at the legal clause attached to the 7% equity. It should be something you can cash out, just in case the company blows tomorrow 🙂 |
