The showlines (American,Canadian and West German) were bred for 'show'

The working lines (West German, East German DDR, Czech...) were bred to 'work'. Most of these lines have deviated from the original standards.

Most people keep their dogs in cages,fenced compounds or on chain for most their lifes. Until this change,an average Nigerian gsd lover should just go for a low energy showline gsd.
