I was telling him to show me just one single "School of Technology" in the UK offering medicine and he was surprised.
He went as far as dragging "Computer" into it as if UNN, UNIBEN and other schools offering medicine are using Calculators for recording and research.
.
Boss, you're right. A mentor has reasoned me well on this. Thumbs up. You're intelligent.

[quote author=Zeeknow3245 post=100486743]Dude you're funny oo. What does Unilag,UI, Uniben and other conventional universities use? Abacus? Differential machine? Pascaline?
As for Medical Schools we have more than enough all we need is improvement not more problems. There's no need for more medical schools who would start protesting for salaries abeg.
You sound like you're learned but if you can show me any advanced country offering medicine in a "University of Technology" I will be very happy.NUC is greedy very greedy.
I dislike when people defend laughable things. It is very disappointing.
LAUTECH, ESUT etcetera you're listing have gone out of their scope.
FUTA want to join the bandwagon of schools offering medicine. Milk aspiring medicine candidates since medicine is the most sorted course.
I ask show me any Advanced Nation that has her school of Technology offering medicine.
Instead of FUTA to be thinking of medical research with other medical schools. Develop testing kits, Ventilators,Valves, Vaccines, Develop equipment for people suffering from stroke, recovering from paralysis. Instead they are there thinking offering medicine makes you a better schoo
Hmmm..... Arranging replies for you. Just a moment

Zeeknow3245:
Not at all. My issue I have always had is why must a University of Technology leave its full scope of Technology. I don't have a problem if it offers Biomedical Technology, Radiologic Technology, Orthopedic Technology as health related course, I have no problem. Very soon all of them will start offering Dentistry,Medicine, Nursing and then become a conventional University.
.
Bro, a university of technology can offer Medicine and surgery or any other related course, see LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, Oyo state, EBSU, etc. Infact Technology finds and has its area of application in Medicine (i.e use of computers, and some other computerized medical instruments).
FUTA has already commenced the building of their teaching hospital and the game plan was that before students reach 300L, the teaching hospital will be set for it's functional role.
For now, the basic medical department ( Anatomy, Physiology and biochemistry) have already been established in the school.
So in my own opinion, we should be glad because facilities for Medical training in Nigeria is grossly insufficient and now that a new one is stemming up, it should demand an applause and admiration.

2021 UTME: JAMB sets to commence sale of registration forms

JAMB news

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB) says it has concluded all arrangements to commence the sale of 2021/2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and Direct Entry (DE) registration forms.

The board disclosed this in its Vol. 2, No. 15 Weekly Bulletin of the Office of the Registrar and made it available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja.

The board said that official dates for the commencement of the sale of both documents and the conduct of the examinations would be announced not later than March 24.

According to JAMB, the 2021 exercise was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The board, therefore, warned that any ongoing sale of forms and registration was fraudulent and not associated with JAMB.

“This year’s exercise, unlike the previous years, is peculiar because of the series of disruptions to virtually all aspects of public life occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It is with this extant reality in mind that the delay is being experienced, with the board embarking on series of strategic adjustments, aimed at ensuring that academic activities are not unduly impacted.

“The public is to note that the 2021 UTME/DE application forms are not yet on sale. Anybody advertising anything to the contrary is a fraudster,” it warned.

The board, while reiterating its commitment to ensuring sanity in the entire process, also disclosed that it had apprehended one Mr Okogu Ambrose for illegally registering candidates.

Ambrose, the board further explained, was caught after collecting monies from innocent candidates in the name of registering them for the yet-to-commence 2021/2022 UTME exercise.

“Ambrose is a serial offender, who was arrested in 2020 for extorting money for which he had no authorisation to execute.

“The board would, however, ensure that relevant security agencies prosecute Ambrose with the hope that he does not escape the long arm of the law this time,” it stated.

JAMB also appealed to all and sundry to support its drive towards ensuring that bad eggs in the society, who were bent on destroying education developmental aspirations, were made to face the full wrath of the law.

HealthRe: How Safe Is Palm Oil For Cooking? A Critical Question For Discussion by Rursh(m): 2:23am On Jul 02, 2020
Using palm oil for cooking is very ok because it's a vegetable oil that has not been industrially refined.
Palm oil is used for preventing vitamin A deficiency, cancer, brain disease, aging; and treating malaria, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and cyanide poisoning. Palm oil is used for weight loss and increasing the body's metabolism.
The only dark side is how it is usually prepared locally.
HealthRe: Why Is Every Body Suffering From Malaria Nowadays??? by Rursh(m): 2:19am On Jul 02, 2020
The answer is simple.

1. The insect (Mosquito) carrying the protozoa (Plasmodium falciparum and the 3 other common variants is very common in the tropics.

2. The Plasmodium is reforming or let me say changes or become better resistant to drugs ie coartem ( arthemether and lumefatrine) used to combat it thus rendering them less effective.

3. The generally polluted environment we now live with free radicals (oxidants), pollutants et Al is making resistance to the early stage of the Plasmodium ( sporozoites) conducive this easing multiplication or transformation to the more inimical stage (trophozoites)
