@ tkb,

Its not just becuz of the hat-trick. . . . . he's showing stuff that we totally ignored previously for sake of he was not scoring as prolifially as we wanted. 85% of Antonio Valencia's best crosses came from DB9's tee-offs.

DB9 is a born footballer - it is not gra-gra or agi'di.

Didnt canales start over ozil in the first game? How come he was dropped in favour of Mesut, If your unchanged team point is to hold water?
U act as though u don't know JM's policy ---- u don't cut it, u are off d team! Canales didn't perform well in that game; Ozil is still in there 'cuz he's done well in two games. . . . the next game is crucial, if he starts & doesn't play well then i bet u he's going 4 a spell on the bench.
Big issue here is not in his talent (or lack of it) but the he's playing for a club & manager desperately looking 4 success even if it comes at the expense of budding careers. The general RM enviroment is not very tolerant. This is where lots of people assume he's made a blunder moving to RM.

Which Madrid player played well against Sociedad. That was a scrappy match and BTW why didnt you favourite Canales or Leon start over Ozil.
Calm down. . . . . JM is basically trying to keep an unchanged team; a carry-over of the "seemingly" impressive game against ajax.

Are you watching Ozil in this match again?
Yes man. . . . i watched the UCL game - RM vs Ajax & yes ur man was fantastic; but i'll attribute that more to Ajax's seeming inability or unwillingness to play, they let RM have it all their way. But did you watch the Sociedad vs RM game huh your man hardly got a kick of the ball. . . . & thats another thing that would count against your man; when the "miss ball don't miss leg" guys are on the turf, Ozil hides. 2 more games like this & i bet u he is history even before kaka shows!

Catastrophic loss at the midweek in the Europa Ligue. . . .

But Alvarez completely surprised everyone in the team selection for the Andalusian derby with Malaga. . . . no fabiano, navas, konko or kanuote. Musta caught the Malagans off-guard too. Good victory though; buys Alvarez a bit more time to try steady this ship!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester Utd vs Liverpool On 19th Sept: 3 - 2! by RuuDie(m): 12:29pm On Sep 20, 2010
About the O'shea incident . . . . . there's always the question of if the striker woulda eventually gotten the ball given that the VDS was already rushing out to attack the situation. So we cannot directly say that was a goal-scoring opportunity when the ball was loose and not in the control or possession of the attacking player.

Yellow card and free was just about enough punishment!

& they said Berba wasn't worth 30mill. . . . . that how SAF had lost it 4 taking DB9 over CT32. . . . . . I will say it to my last breathe; I don't care if all Berba does is to pomade his hair and stroll about the OT pitch all the rest of his career - he is still one of the BEST players to wear the MUFC shirt!

Really don't think there's any need for alarm. . . . yes, the 10 changes was a big factor but also remember it is not easy playn against teams with all 11 behind defending their goal - which was clearly all Rangers set out to do. We missed scholesy's incisive passing but would it have worked against a 4-layer defensive unit squeezed in 1-half!?

Personally, am just glad we finally kept a clean sheet grin

That's where you got it wrong.

The concept of deciding MOTM based on who got the winning goal is extremely misleading as it doesn't neccesarily reward the best performer on the

pitch but rather who was lucky enough to score the winning goal. . . . Ozil, based on actual performance for 90 mins, was MOTM.

Your logic is akin to saying solskjaer was MOTM at the 1999 UCL final simply because he scored the winner (note, he wasn't even on the pitch for 90 mins)

whilst conveniently ignoring Peter schmeichel's exceptional performance that kept united in the game. (that's the best e.g I could find btw, but you get the drift)
I really do appreciate the fact that you recognize the concept - & I also agree with you that in many instances, it is flawed. . . . . but that is just how it is sometimes and we have to accept it.

As per this discussion, I'm not doubting Ozil's ability; he is indeed a good footballer and yes, he had a very good game against Osasuna but how much of his talent are we gonna get the chance to see in a RM shirt, I wonder - when Kaka returns, what becomes of him!!? Already I reckon he is behind Khedira, Granero; even Canales & Pedro Leon in the pecking order but Dayo seems to think he is all that (as he does of anything German of course). . . . . dude just made the biggest mistake of his career.

So if the winning goal was an own goal, Who would the man of the match be?

How come Enyeama was MOTM when Nigeria lost to Argentina and not Heinze who scored the winning goal
Well in this case, it wasn't an OG!

You can re-translate Boole's laws of logic for all I care. . . . or is Marca now the official decider of who MOTM should now be in La Liga games!!?

Maybe Enyeama was PEAK or MTN naija MOTM - certainly not in Argentina.

Playing 0 : 0 against a team with no point man heheheh
Thats not true even RM will have problems breaking down this Depor side the way they was setup. . . . it was almost 1-way Sevilla dominance all night long.
This term, we are a bit stronger than before; promising youngsters like J.Carlos coming through and showing they can mix it up with the big boys and also the squad has been bolstered by 2 creative & relatively experienced midfield signings from Serie A.
There's a bit of depth in the side now than last season, so much so we can have players of quality as Romaric, Renato, Negredo & Fabiano on the bench & still put out a decent side. . . . . & also have options if we have to change things during the course of a game.

Sevilla 0 - 0 Deportivo

A game we deserved to win. . . . did everything right but put the ball in the back of the net & Depor's Manu was in fine form; making some heart-stopping saves.

I'm still a bit nervy about our defense though. . . . . Carceres is just not it - Zokora was quite good and energetic, Kanoute anonymous, Negredo brilliant (RM's loss).

the young sub jose carlos is a talent - pity the bloody aristocrats from catalan & madrid will soon be knocking on the door & we just cannot refuse 'em.

4pts from 2 games. . . . not a bad start; at least we're still up there in 3rd - keep this up & we'll be vying for the top honors come May. Good job lads!

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Everton Vs Man United [3 - 3] On Saturday, 11th September 2010 by RuuDie(m): 2:31pm On Sep 13, 2010
@ 2-3 i felt the team shoulda just held the ball for a while passed it around and take some sting outta the everton momentum; instead they gave it away cheaply high up and didn't bother to press and keep the opposition penned on their own side choosing instead to defend deep.

annoying but i'm still not really bothered be'cuz eventually the defense aspect of our game will tighten up - am just loving the fact that we can line out against difficult opposition without our "key-est" player and still perform as well as we did on the offensive. Last season, no Rooney, own goal or P.K. . . . . wahala dey!

Leon and Canales? Do they even have national team caps? Ozil was a star at the World cup. Whether Leon and Sergio Canales would ever achieve that is something we have to find out in their next 20yrs
Who cares about national caps & WC stardom. . . . . . and BTW, who the bleep knows Ozil in Spain huh do not mistake some small publicity in Nazi-land as worldwide popularity.
Fact remains when Kaka returns & we all know for certain that he will your much revered Ozil will sit his butt on the bench so much that the only sponsorship deals he will make will be with ROBB - lucky for him their subs benches in the bernabeu are bit more comfy than those in Onikan!

Xabi Alonso is not attacking so he isnt a direct competitor with Ozil,

Van Der vaart was there when he was overlooked repeatedly, No one has faith in him even the Dutch coach van Marwijk. They are just looking for who would buy him.

Ozil has a bigger pedigree than Canales and Leon. Ozil is one of the revelations of the World cup at least he would get his chance till he messes it up
It doesn't matter who is direct competitor or not - the point is there is very limited available starting slots in that RM midfield.

Ozil has bigger pedigree than Leon & Canales huh Maybe in his li'l turkish villa, definitely not in Spain - I really don't need to say much, RM's starting 11 against Mallorca tells you how much of a mistake Ozil made. . . . invariably, if Kaka had been fit, he probably would never have made the bench!

Truth is. . . . . we very rarely watch all the games of these so-called "big ligues" except one of the more stronger or popular team is playn.
The other weekend Villa-Everton was on and it was so totally flat and uninspiring.

Its true that the near equality in terms of resource distribution of these "smaller" ligues make them a little more competitive. I've watched Ligue1, Russian, MLS & even J-ligue matches that are far more exciting than what we have in the so-called "big-name ligues."
