Manchester City have spent the off-season beefing up their squad before the start of the Premier League and Mancini said Donovan might also be on the shopping list.

"Landon Donovan is a good player. It's possible," he said in New Jersey where Manchester City are preparing for the New York Challenge, starting Thursday.

Donovan, 28, is currently under contract to the Los Angeles Galaxy of US Major League Soccer but was loaned to Everton last season. MLS officials have said they hope Donovan will remain at home.

Adriano to sign on Saturday



Adriano Correia is set to put pen-to-paper on his contract with FC Barcelona at 13:00 on Saturday after agreeing to join the club from Sevilla.

The Brazilian will sign the deal at the Blaugrana club offices in the presence of president Sandro Rosell and vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu.

Afterwards Barça’s second signing of the summer will then pose for photos outside the offices in front of the large Barça crest.

On Monday afternoon the club will officially present Adriano as a new player in an event that will take place with a press conference and then a photo shoot on the Camp Nou pitch which fans can attend.

Adriano is the second summer signing after David Villa joined the club before the World Cup Finals from Valencia.

Football is a contact game and not poker but the way the Spainards choose to embelish every contact is just disgusting to the eye and the ref made it easy for them.

Some of the Dutch tackles especially De Jong were bad but look at the way both sides play the game
It got to a stage opponents were scared to tackle them the only hope opponents have to get the ball is by hoping Spain has a turnover or miss a scoring chance

Like I said earlier Robben was tugged by Puyol but shrugged it off in a sportman like manner and continued to run but if anyone moves within 3 fts of Iniesta he rolls like he was shot by a sniper.

Spain have the better personnel and dont need to take a roll at every opportunity.

Despite all the Possession Espania had, they only got a goal from a Set Piece. It simply tells you that the Germans are a good side. Loeh might have made a mistake by removing Boateng, who is undoubtedly their tallest player in the back line. Who knows, Puyol might not have had a clear header. The Germans are a real good side. Espania should look out for Sneider and Robben in the final cos those two can sure turn things around. Since Germans are out, Netherlands all the way.

Cheats will never win a world cup again. You see maradona have paid dearly for his infamous hand of God in this world cup with a disgraceful exit. I hated FIFA rules on that Ghana/Uruguay match. How proud will Uruguay be if they go ahead to win the cup after using hand to stop a goal bound ball that would have sealed their fate. The referee would have just awarded that goal to Ghana. Afterall his decisions are final in the pitch. I cannot blame Gyan, world class players have been missing penalties since history of soccer. Uruguay should never benefit from this fraud.

Cristiano Ronaldo's child was born to an American who was paid to be a surrogate mother, according to reports in the Portuguese media.

Correio de Manha reported that the 25-year-old Real Madrid winger hired the woman, while Diario de Noticias added that the baby boy was born on June 17 and weighed 9lb 8oz.

The report also said that Ronaldo had begun the paperwork to bring the boy from the US to his native Portugal, where he will be brought up by the star's mother Delores and sisters Elma and Katia.

"He's very happy, of course. Who isn't happy having children?" sister Katia told Diario de Noticias.

"The baby looks like him, although he's still very small to see what his features will be like."

Ronaldo, who last summer became the world's most expensive player after his £80 million transfer from Manchester United, announced on Sunday via Facebook that he had become father to a baby reportedly born in June.

The report added that the player's girlfriend, Russian underwear model Irina Shayk, was initially devastated by the news but has now agreed to stand by Ronaldo and help him raise the child.
