Why does it have to be a level 4 interchange? With that 100M - you could have done a lot more - you could have constructed maybe 20 level 1 interchanges.

Are engineers designing your roads - OR POLITICIANS. Level 4 interchanges go with 20 lanes roads like you find in LA or China.

Look at these level one interchanges... with 100M - you can build I think 20 or even more - each at 5m dollars.

But surely that Accra's Pokuasi interchange surrounded by dirt roads is classic Potemkin village; a facade; a pig with lipstick. You cannot stick a four level interchange in the middle of a slum technically and call that development.

Absolutely; Kikuyu gave the perfect description; it's precisely like communist era Russia's Potemkin villages or North Korea's Pyongyang - which on face value appears to be a great city but dig a little deeper; you will find a failed city with millions living in slums; and with business districts; without any paved inner roads

How are we comparing with a city that has thickets surrounding the Central Bank Building. In as much as we call Accra a village atleast they try making it decent. Abuja is a lost cause.

They will show you the Abuja-Airport expressways for 10yrs if they have to; But get out of two or three highways; and the golden mosque; it city where you find skyscraper in the middle of dirt roads.

Outside the Potemkin village at the middle of the city - is swatches of slums by the local community and immigrants who cannot find decent housing.

Abuja outside the main higways look more like Niamey, Bangui and Juba. The inner roads right to the CBD are absent; You'll find a skscryapper in the middle of what looks like Athi River or Ruai or Kitengela.

You own business district doesn't have paved inner roads beyond those two highways. For kenya - it struggling at paving footpaths and walkways - but Abuja, Lagos and Accra - you inner roads are unpaved.

I have seen right inside the CBD - you find a skyscrapper like that WTO - and the roads are unpaved. That is why all they can show is one highway.

When I asked - I heard sijui HAMMATTAN dust had buried the roads;

Use Google earth and you'll realise that this roads only cover the CBD. All of their estates are covered by dirt roads with thickets all over(no landscaping whatsoever). Add to that most of the houses look unoccupied.

Abuja like you is a sick joke; Mombasa has roads all over; and right now it's seeing more thn 1Billion dollars of investment in 40km mariakani-msa highway, dongo kundu phase including 2-3km bridge, likoni will see africa longest suspended bridge, we have tanga (tz) border to malindi highway, we have 1B free port and port expansion by Japanese.

Abuja has long way to get to current Mombasa - and yet 3-4 yrs from now - Mombasa will be miles away from any west africa city

Kenya overally is not dead economy like your now going 10yrs recession hit oil dependant economy with 24B dollars budget.
