Yes Kenya police have very good intelligence network; and they track those thugs; they really have no hope. Those who end up in prison are the lucky ones. Most are 18-21 kids - and they get culled.

The police are very corrupt in kenya - white collar corrupt - sometimes they engage in crime - but generally we have managed to keep crime and terrorism down using some part of managed EJK.

MTN has at least 10X more revenues than Safaricom, it's got crazy financial resources with little debt. I don't think it's backed by the Chinese, it just needs 1 or 2 Joburg banks, like Standard Bank and FNB, and it can come up with the funds easily. Ghana-More than 100% passes through MTN a foreign company. At least Safaricom is majority owned by Kenya gov+Public. Vodafone(through vodacom) only has 40%. Now imagine MTN South Africa is running your finances.

As for M-pesa - remember the money really doesn't reside in Safaricom - it reside in an ESCROW account in local banks.
