100 universities from nearly all English speaking countries of Africa with Airtel operations. In from 2005 - to 2010 - it was always Kenya finals - kenya dominated from quarters - except when Ibandan fluke through. There cannot be an indictment of university education...than that. Austine1213: |
It hardly measure the quality of education. The Education Index is calculated for 176 countries as the geometric average of mean years of schooling and of expected years of schooling in a given country/territory. jl115: |

UON infrastructure is probably more than perhaps all Nigeria universities combined. UON has I don't know 10 or more campus. It has skyscrapers and plazas - leave alone the campus Heck I check most kenya universities have large student population than Nigeria except the online University of Nigeria. samorobo:

2010 - Nigeria participated - University of Ibandan was knocked out in preliminaries by Ghana - and we had an all kenya final. The semi-final - was also a Kenyan affair bar Makerere University. Here is final btw Egerton and Nazarene in 2010 - Ibandan had long biten dust. 100 African universities in many countries and as always Kenya still dominant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQ-73_FB3mk&feature=youtu.be&list=PL11D98DA7562E7927 Kenya dominance was too much - it compromised the program viability. samorobo: |
There are many indices out there; so which Index are you referring to. You're supposed to be better than other idiot. jl115: |
Kikuyu, I was checking Vodafone - Vodacom deal - only to discover the Rotchschield were their investment banker. South Africa you must remember has many jews. The Rotchild control diamonds and even gold. So you can expect Oppenheimers and DeBeers are their quisling. The so-called Kimberley process is their thing...where a few Jews sit in Paris and decide which gold or diamond is real (certified)... the Jewish cabal control the world wealth through such a "verification" process.Ask Zimbwabwe - they got kicked out from Kimberley - and they could only interest the Chinese. The fact that South Africa has 50,000 plus Jews - with Jews reportedly owning most properties in places like Capetown - and the fact that Southern Africa is mainly the minerals the Jews deal with (Diamond, Gold, etc) - you can bet South Africa is just little Jewish kingdom. The Oppenheimer and Rothschild probably run it. kikuyu1: |
If you look at semis and quarters - it was just kenya universities competing against each other - and bar 2009 Ibandan fluke - all the finals were kenya universities. Semi finals - ALL KENYAN affair. The Final All KENYAN Affairs. Kenya education standards are not comparable to SSA standards. Only Mauritus compares.
|
The banning started. In fact, the so-called Africa University challenge was so ridiculous because from Quarters it would simply be a Kenyan affair - except for one or two flukes - for like all those years. The thing had to simply die It became a KENYA CHALLENGE. |
Polemics. Treasury issues bonds. SARB is their agent or Banker. When they start buying it - there is BIG BIG PROBLEM. SARB are not suppose to underwrite gov bonds. It get bought or not. But when SARC start buying - from thin air - then there is a problem - but not a big problem. Nigeria has a bigger problem - it cannot even print Naira because most of debt is in foreign currencies. jl115: |
Simple. If you check countries that are food giants or agriculture giants - you don't need statistics; you'll find them exporting food; lots of food; USA, China, India, Russia, Canada, Brazil, Indonesia.....each of those countries on average exporting 1-3b dollars of food to Nigeria alone. What does Nigeria export? Zero. Cocoa beans that poor Ghana does maybe in a few days. Poor little Kenya - go to any grocery in Europe and you'll find kenya products. theenchanter: |
Let get the frog-jumping by demonstrating how wrong I am. theenchanter: |
Says the idiots that yesterday didn't know about QE and SARB engaging it. It's very rich. Go back to school. If I was Invst Analyst of South Africa - this would be the AEIOU..the baba or mama. jl115: |
Very good. Let assume Nigeria has about 1/5 of Indian arable land. We know Indian apply maybe 2-3 times more fertilizer than NIgeria - I bet 5 times is the figure - why would Nigeria be anywhere near the top 8 countries with arable land. If we assume you apply same fertilizers with India - you'd about 4-5 times less - but we know you apply very little of it - and we can assume you should be 20-50 times less than Inidia. Talking USA, China, India, Brazil, Indonesia, Canada, Russia, Canada and Australia. Those countries agriculture are like 50-100yrs ahead of Nigeria hoe-powered agricluture. I bet Nigeria has few tractors than Kenya. I have seen fertilizer application is about twice Kenya - with 10% of of the land arable. theenchanter: |
So who bought their asset. My understanding of reserve bank - of south Africa - is fancy word for the Central Bank of South Africa. What they normally do is to issue bonds for sale - on behalf of South Africa gov. When they offer to buy it - they are basically printing moneyu jl115: |
Before I deal with the poverty capital - please tell us what QE mean. Use SARB as an example. jl115: |
Agriculture's biggest input is arable land. The next variable is the fertilizer applied. This is basic AGRONOMICS. The rest is details. That is why most modern countries don't bother with it - so much you can squeeze from soils and plants. You can dose it with fertilizers - 10 times what we apply in Africa - and after that - you're DONE. No more productivity or efficiency gains really. Nigeria cooked GDP fails when you examined it's make-belief agriculture. You only export cocoa beans. The countries you fake GDP statistics want to imagine are they peers export billions dollars of so many foods - and almost all have Nigeria as their market. The wheat farmer in Russia or Canada is looking at Nigeria and so do Rice farmers and so do milk farmers and so tomatoes farmers...you import basically everything except low nutriental value sorghum, millet and yams. theenchanter: |
If Kenya is in trouble - what would you say about Nigeria? Whose 90% of gov revenues have gone to the wind. Right now - you entire budget basically hinges on borrowing. Kenya I bet has cooked GDP figures - but Nigeria like I have told you has OVERCOOKED Hers for many years. Forget about me - Just look at you agriculture figures - and ask yourselves if you can be near US, Canada, Brazil, Indonesia, Russia, India, China. These are countries that based on LAND SIZe alone ..are at minimum 2-3 times (Indonesia)...the rest are so huge...Russia is basically like 10% of planet earth...you can squeeze 10 Nigerians in Canada and it still won't be enough. Brazil is basically a subcontinent and so is India and China. So when Yemi kale tells you that your agriculture is DEAD and yet it's 4-6th world best - what exactly is he saying. Nigeria in land size is not even in top 20 worldwide I bet. Don't even bother with the Netherlands who engage in intensive agriculture - please Explain to US how Nigerians that imports lots of food - and grow useless cassava, millet and sorghum - can have agriculture as big as 100B - and 200B as sector! IMPOSSIBLE. Heck I checked TANZANIA is bigger than Nigeria in land size . You're number 30. Ethiopea, South Africa, and Egypt way bigger. You need 20 nigerians to squeeze into Russia - and even if most of it north pole - the amount of wheat in Russia alone would drown Nigeria. obaaderemi: |
The default is to have Statistician head a Statistic body. Mwangi studied BA. In Kenya, there is no degree in Economics. There are of course economists in statistical bodies - but the CORE function is statistical - mathematical. Moronic version. Economics is more applied maths. But it good to have pure maths guy churn out the figures. And have Yemi Kale in TV stations churning out theories. But Yemi Kale is a heck of a manipulator in a super-corrupt Nigeria with a gov that would love nothing but the propaganda of GROWTH and SUCCESS. As for Mwangi - of Kenya - there was an incident where he is thought to have manipulated figures - and as always it was agriculture - he manipulated the prices and quantities - and we had agriculture shoot from 23-25% of the economy to nearly 30%. And that was the time Kenya gov was trying to borrow more from Chinese. This was I bet 2015-2017 - KNBS silent re-based the series of economic data. You have to understand the job comes with political pressure to show growth. Ghanaians do it so shamelessly don't bother with their statistics. Tanzanian Yemi Kale would be dead if he doesn't say Magufli destructive economics are doing WONDERS. obaaderemi: |
His term expired - and we are filling the position. Yemi Kale is likely to continue to keep his job as long as he keeps manipulating figures. Now he must be going for his 4 term. His is very popular in federal circles of Abuja because he keeps churning make-believe figures. The most outrageous is that Nigeria agriculture as sector is 100B - only 4th after US, India and China - and as Industry 200B - even China would struggle there. Leave alone Agricultural giants like Brazil and Indonesia with food ships in the high seas that rival Nigeria oil tankers. While POVERTY has become Nigeria's second name. obaaderemi: |
Here is South African one - Maluleke’s extensive experience in the organisation is backed by his qualifications: BSc (Mathematical Statistics) – University of Limpopo, MPhil (Urban and Regional Science) – Stellenbosch University. He has also completed Senior Executive Programmes with Wits and Harvard Business Schools. obaaderemi: |
I saw. And I SEEN MANY THAT CLAIMS SOUTH AFRICA WAS ON QE - PRINTING MONEY. Now you're a Mzanzi and analyst - help us find out if SARB printed the rand out of thin air and handed it to ANC treasury. jl115: |
Yemi Kale - Statistician General of the National Bureau of Statistics of Nigeria. He has been put there to MANIPULATE figures because he knows what figures economists would look at. The job requires just someone good in collecting and tabulating data. Not messaging. There is reason why Yemi Kale term has been renewed - he makes gov popular by churning fake feel-good numbers WHILE POVERTY IS INCREASING IN NIGERIA. obaaderemi: |
What are they buying the Gov Bonds with? Their retained earnings or capital? Their job is to print the rand - they can only buy by printing rand and handing it over to ANC. jl115: |
Probably the reason why he is manipulating figures. Nigerian Statistician-General should be STATISTICIAN. He should churn raw figures and not try to influence it. Yemi Kale is massaging figures. That is rather obvious if you study just the agriculture data. obaaderemi: |
I confirm they already printed money and bought gov bounds. ANC gov need 1B rands daily to survive. As the Covid-19 crisis takes hold of South Africa, the South African Reserve Bank – SARB fired its own bazooka on Wednesday stepping into the secondary bond market to purchase government bonds with newly created money. The government bond market has been unable to function normally for the past week, with yields spiking to record highs due to a shortage of buyers. But be careful - don't overdo it like ZImbwabwee. "If the purchases are funded out of printed money then, over a period of time, that could be a problem for South Africa as we are not a reserve currency and could get penalised by the market." jl115: |
University of Adis Ababa - is 3rd rate - and he is churning third rate GDP figures that don't make any sense. obaaderemi: |
