Thanks for that Map.

Usual daily rant of a mad cow.
Just30:
Idiot does the land look like rocks to you ?

You just take pride in being a lunatic.

The picture shared here has been after years of work to restore the soil ... Still it gets very dry and unpleasant during the dry season without rains.

Turkana lands are highly fertile soil but because you guys won't invest money there, you've left them hungry.

The soil in Egypt, Algeria and co are much drier than in turkana and they still farm from it
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp20182: 9:15am On Mar 27, 2023
There is no soil idiot in those places - that is sand. The picture you earlier shared would pass for some best arable land in kenya.

The donkeys your posted here have more sense than your resident mad cow.

Just30:
Excuses upon excuse for laziness

They are standing on good soil and all they need is water ... Temperatures up north of Ghana is mostly in the 43 degree Celsius range and the land looks just like turkana for 9 to 10 months of the year untill it rains for the next 2 to 3 months.

At least turkana has grass and shrubs which means it can be reafforested just like Northern Ghana.

Kenya is just to dumb to provide irrigation facilities.

With more than 2 times the cultivated lands of Ghana, Kenya should be growing more food than Ghana but you don't.

Again, fighting corruption and improving effeciency are nice to do things, in the near future.

For now, Eskom has 400 billion rand ($24.32 billion) debt that need to be repaid so it can come out of it's bankruptcy

South Africa gov doesnt have that 25B dollars to give Eskom - therefore allow Eskom to raise electricity prices to cover cost of backdated cooperation and efficiency.

You got to pay that debt first.

Then we can discuss improvements required in power sector.

The more you delay dealing with reality - the more your economy, quality of life and well being worsen.

From 2010 till now it's been -1 or 1% or zero growth of GDP.

jl115:
De Ruyter is a man of impeccable character he didn't need to do that interview, and his fight to stop corruption at Eskom nearly cost him his life.

And obviously you never watch the interview since if you did you would've known about the rampant and purposeful sabotage at Eskom.... How can you R 1 billion a month at Eskom isn't a problem? Again you are saying ludicrous things!!

Also since you can't Google yourself, Eskom has received no less than R270 billion in bailouts..... That's 20% of the Kenyan GDP to put that in perspective.... Obviously throwing money at Eskom doesn't work.
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp20182: 1:46am On Mar 27, 2023
I watch that dude interview - it's full of blame game - blaming corruption is easy - but that wont solve the problem. Money will solve the problem.

And 1B a month of rand to Eskom is nothing compared to the economic price your'e paying. Assume that Eskom mess is costing GDP loss of 1% of your gdp, tt 5.5 trillion rand...1% is 55B rand; if it knock out 2 percent; that is 110B rands.

jl115:
Nothing wrong with universal electricity , that's also not what sunk Eskom....Like I said Eskom management set out a comprehensive energy plan to ensure the profitability and sustainability of Eskom as well as providing universal coverage.

Also do you have any idea how much money Eskom has received?? have you even just googled it?? If you did you wouldn't be saying "give eskom money" as it stands Eskom is losing R1billion a month just because of corruption and your suggestion is to give more money for people to steal?? I suggest you watch Andre de Ruyters interview and come back wink

Your suggestions are literally ludicrous....increase tariffs by 1000%? and yet in your previous post you were talking about how the poor will be left out if privatised? do you not see the hypocrisy?

SAA is in the process of being privatised...should of happened years ago. Eskom should follow the same route.

You don't have to buy the entire grid, that's the point, you can by parts of it....and yes electricity is the same as any other business including telecoms.

You dont know what arid means. From that picture - your north region would be one of kenya best land. The same for Nigeria North. Your poverty at the north is down to pure laziness.

Kenya north - places like Turkana - temperatures alone over around 40 celius degrees all year long. There is no single grass or soil. Just stones, shrubs and rest. And this true for 2/3 of kenya.

Ruto has hired 30,000 teachers - The biggest hiring of teachers in the history of Independent Kenya - but you're inside Raila rectum to see.
Ruto has given out more than 20B Kesh to microloans to support SMES/Hustlers - you have not seen that.
Ruto has registered 4.3 million farmers (about half of all kenyan farmers) and given them e-vouchers - for fertilizers and seeds at half - price.
Ruto has nailed gov to gov fuel/oil deal worth 4.5B dollars or 500B KES - that secure supplies of fuel till december - but you're inside Raila rectum.
Ruto has cut 300B - from budget - has cut budget deficit from 6.5% to 5.7% - has arrested inflation - but you're inside Raila rectum to see.
Ruto has institute reforms at KRA - that will see revenue shoot to 3 trillion - but you cant see.
Ruto is instituting so many reforms - and it's been only six months - that has impressed likes of iMF/WB - enough for them to soon realese money.
Ruto has attracted many foreign investment - target to move from 1B - to 10B dollars annual.
Ruto has digitized 5,000 gov services in six months - they are now going to hit 7,0000 gov service - all online in e-citizen. Almost all gov services will soon be available online.

Rule of law. No extrajudicial killings. Judiciary independent. Police independent. No single court order disobeyed.

And it's just six month - but because you're inside Raila rectum - you aint seeing nothing.

Which one of the above has the Ruto government built?

You're just a typical Azimio dunderhead. Farmers produced little last year because Azimio did not support farmers. The millers are paying good prices for maize - but there is not enough maize.

Your moronic Uhuru and Raila did nothing when fertilizer rose to 7,000 kes a bag - most farmers planted without or with less - hence low yields.

Ruto right now is busy distributing subsidized inputs - for next season.

You continue to suffer Uhuru mistakes until next harvest.

Wuoche:
So the government sees it fit to import maize from other countries instead of promoting local farmers who has maize enough to solve almost three quarters of countries maize problems?

LA NINA is over for some part. We know go into EL NINO

Tropical East Pacific is warming fast. El Nino is coming! El Nino/ La Nina is the biggest global climate driver of weather due to the amount of heat in those waters. Expect a big weather year ahead w/ near record global heat, extra weather extremes & perhaps less Atl. hurricanes.

"A naturally occurring climate pattern that brought upheaval to weather systems around the world has ended.
La Niña was in part responsible for record-breaking rain in Australia...drought in East Africa.

10,000 crocodiles die as lake dries out in Kenya

https://www.msn.com/en-xl/news/other/10-000-crocodiles-die-as-lake-dries-out-in-kenya/ar-AA18BBMv?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=6164a8a3aeb84044bd43f08b19c5a080&fbclid=IwAR1hMyiqkjPwTz4lR00rF5hdjTjMDJIXKS0C8q-jdvCvuEzGYGahFh7iE9U

The second biggest crocodile habitat in Africa has dried up completely following failed rainy seasons . Lake Kamnarok in Kenya's Rift Valley was once home to 10,000 crocodiles, second to Lake Chad in holding capacity. But the ox-bow lake has been shrinking over the years, largely due to fluctuations in weather systems. It has also been draining its water to a nearby river through a natural fissure, according to local reports. Crocodile carcasses are now scattered on its cracked floor. The few remaining crocodiles have relocated to nearby private dams, a resident told NTV Kenya television station. He said they are worried of increased human-wildlife conflict because of encroachment.

Certain part of Kenya, Ethiopia, Somali and horn of Africa have had failed rainfall for 5yrs - something you will neve understand.
Certain part of world have also had extra rainfall for those 5yrs.
It's called la-nina or climate change.

There is nothing kenya gov can do except assist the drought striken people. In place like Nigeria - because nobody help drought stricken people - they've become huge security problem - either as islamic terrorists or invaders killing farmers.

Animals have died. Millions of wildlife have died. One lake completely dried and 10,000 crocodiles died.

And dont start us on irrigation - after 5yrs of without rain - rivers dried up - lakes dries up - well dries up - and these people main livelihood - cattle die in their millions. They become poor and destitute.

Why is hard to understand that drought is natural disaster. If Ghana was to have five years without rain - you will get worse famine that 1982.

Your famine is due to stupidity - kenya drought is due to factors beyond anybody control

Mad cow - when a big tree or giant is being fell - it all the many small blows that eventually topples it. Russia is being reduced to nothing through a long war of attrition. The first major hit was 1989. The US has been single super power since then. Slowly NATO and EU has co-opted former soviets....encircled Russia and we are facing the end of Russia as major global force.

Russia definitely seem to have met their waterloo in Ukraine. They are struggling militarily in a "special ops" against their slavic cousins. They haven't take Bakmut despite months of fighting. Russians have take huge toll - as Ukraine just sat back in the winter - and took their men out.

Eventually someone in Russia will put a bullet on Putin head and take over power - like happen in Sudan or Libya - hand over Putin to ICC.

And he would have removed two term limit - and continued to wreck Tanzania for a long time.

Kazi Kazi - Samia saved your country from Magufuli disaster. You really must thank your good fortunes for COVID-19 killing the idiot scientist who opposed scientific measures to contain covid and became it's first victim.
https://www.theeastafrican.co.ke/tea/news/east-africa/two-years-of-samia-reforms-in-tanzania-4163744

Last month, she struck a further conciliatory tone, allowing opposition groups to resume political rallies and those in exile to return to the country. Her predecessor Magufuli, as soon as he assumed office, banned political rallies “for the sake of development”. President Samia, on the other hand, has rallied for national unity.

The Magufuli era was characterised by constriction of civic and political space and a violent crackdown on the opposition and the media.

President Samia did allow the banned media outlets to resume publication, even though critics have said she hasn’t helped amend the laws Magufuli introduced to squeeze the freedoms. Placing a strong emphasis on reconciliation, she was guest of honour for the International Women’s Day at the opposition Chadema party at an event in Kilimanjaro on March 8, a gesture that went down well with the nation.

Primary and secondary school students once stopped from going school due to pregnancy will be given an opportunity to return to school in the formal system," said the then Tanzania's Education Minister Joyce Ndalichako in Dodoma last year.

The government announced that the new policy will also apply to students who stopped classes due to truancy and other problems.

Unlike Magufuli, President Samia reopened Tanzania’s diplomatic relations with the world, and resumed Tanzania’s frequent travels by a head of state. This has seen her tour Beijing to Brussels. Dakar to Davos. Dubai to Doha, London to New York and Nairobi, Los Angeles to Kinshasa and this week, Pretoria.

She helped resolved most of the petty trading quarrels with Kenya on her state visit and boosted ties across the East African Community.

Same story with cement;
Dangote is all over but Nigeria cement is twice expensive than Kenya.
Probably thrice than Egypt.

That is why cement consumption is stuck at 20m.
Kenya has risen from 2m - twenty years ago - to 10M metric tonnes now.

Nigeria was doing better when they were importing cheap cement - had even reached 40m metric tonnes

Now all local production has benefited Dangotes - but Nigerians are paying.

Import substitution is a very dangerous policy - unless you're discipline and no corrupt - and intelligent.

Outcome - Dangotes worth 20B - and Nigeria leading world in poverty (despite all gas and oil).

Wait for refinery - you will be buying Dangote fuel at twice the international price.

Dangote will bribe his way in Abuja by claiming he is saving forex smiley and morons like you will buy it.

Subsaharan:
an increasing number of people have been encouraged to cultivate even more hectares of land with an increasing demand for rice paddy from Mega rice mills, and millions of rural jobs created every farming season.

You cannot achieve self-sufficiency when rice is twice expensive than international market.
That is total absolute madness.
That is manufacturing poverty.

You come back when nigeria has open all borders for all rice - and Nigeria farmers are still able to sell their local rice - because it's of high quality or competitive prices - value. Dont force Nigerians poor deeper into poverty - every inflation send the poor deeeeeeeeper into povery - as mos to their expenditure is FOOD.

In kenya for example - we produce very little rice - but it's of highest quality - Kenya middle class buy kenya's pishori rice for it's quality - then we flood cheap pakistani rice for the poor.

Kenya has not retained 750M of airlines; soon you wont be able to fly;
Everyone has forex issues - even oil giant like Nigeria - at least kenya we do not have forex control;
Nigeria - you're blocking airlines, MTNS and foreign companies to repatriate their dollars smiley
That sign of impending doom.

Kenya
The forx are still flowing in and out.
We have 8B held in private accounts - 7B held by gov - so we have dollars.

We have market failure in forex market but we dont really care for short term - market will fix itself.

We are covered with fuel intil dec 31st (we signed 4.8B dollars credit supply). We are covered in food.

Subsaharan:
During that period, Nigeria achieved self-sufficiency in rice production, Nigeria also built the largest milling capacity on the continent

Energy security would be achieved very soon.

Those are real-time achievements, so I don't know what you are saying about corruption.

Continue importing toothpicks if it makes you feel any better.

Now you are struggling to find fx to pay for food are you here talking nonsense
PoliticsRe: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp20182: 5:18am On Mar 15, 2023
You're a nutjob. Nigeria messy naira re-design will further damage your economy. Countries try to fight inflation without slowing down the economy. What you've now in Nigeria is worse than inflation - it's now stagflation - inflation is high while economy growth is slow.

Subsaharan:
I just thought about the economic consequences of quantitative easing that Central banks took as a response to the recession caused by COVID and how Central banks have been trying to manage the repercussion of that monetary policy. Inflation since then has been rampant largely attributed to excess market liquidity, global supply chain disruptions, and the Russia - Ukraine war.
The Federal reserve bank has opted for a conventional tool to curb inflation in the U.S., Increasing interest rates. This has caused major disruptions to the global economy from the scarcity of Fx in countries like Kenya to the chaos we just saw a couple of days ago in SVB.

Now I think CBN's method of managing the consequences of quantitative easing Is this cashless policy. Within 2 months, the CBN was able to successfully take ₦2trn worth of cash out of the economy slowing down inflation even with its unintended consequences to the economy, a little bit unconventional but very effective. The marginal rate hikes by the Fed would do nothing to slow down inflation at least not as quickly as they would like. Now they have to "invent" money to bail out SVB depositors to contain the situation.

But nobody knows what the consequences of the Supreme Court ruling would be. With a huge value of liquidity taken out of circulation, what would be the repercussions of a sudden release of liquidity back into the economy? What impact would it have on inflation? Wouldn't that amount to economic terrorism? Shouldn't National interest be prioritized? I suspect those questions to be answered in the coming weeks and months as I will be keenly watching events.

They had almost 30B dollars worth of external debt; and 25B on domestic debt;
That 30B has nearly doubled to 50B - due to Cedis depreciation;
Now add 25B in cedis - local debt.
You get 75B - that is 100% plus of Ghana debt to GDP.

That is big risk with external debt. Currency depreciates - you're in for the music.

Shma2023:
$58B debt in a GDP of $70B is pretty much 82%. That was in 2021.
Ghana in 2023 is having more than 100% debt to GDP.
