Stillthebest:

Women are always known selfish ones both in the home fronts and public spaces.
When a man is married he takes up the responsibilities of both himself, the kids, running of a home and that of the woman totally. Even during weddings, a man must take care of certain things relating to the woman personally apart from the bills that would come from her family.
A man have se.x with a woman, cu.m in her, be on top to do the jerking, still gives her money to take care of herself... Who really needs Milk and maltina here...eeh eeh?
People talk about how women are the real deals In children's lives. But quick to forget sacrifices men take too.. A man can come home last night with the last 5k, and a child comes to him in the morning for school bills of #4500. A father gives the Child the money.. meanwhile,he had planned to fuel his car with 2k prior... Can he now?
At home, a woman will prefer to come back and ask for her #1000 she added to the groceries money because what u gave her isnt enough. Imagine! Won't she or her kids eat from it? This n more.
This has transcended. A man impregnates a woman, takes care of the resultant kids from day one to securing Jobs for them after versities, what next... "A ti gbe baba rele"(the man died) leaving the woman to reap the fruit of his labours
In a public office, a man takes up the responsibilities of both men and women, old and young. But their wives create special programs for women empowerment and girl child alone. Starting NGOs relating to women alone, supporting only woman... So men should leave the Earth for them Abi?
Society hasn't been fair to men and boys. Women are to be pampered, but they are already misusing the opportunities. Sometimes, I want to attribute their issues to lack of self esteem. Let them too think out of the box and have all encompass programs once they have the forum to do so.. being a first lady doesn't mean the wife of a governor should be liable to women alone. Or aren't their husbands not first man too? i am also tired of the girl child thing but you have turned this to a gender war, we still have some funny things here in Nigeria that is a no no especially when it comes to women. I believe both gender is to be treated equally in all things, given same opportunities, no pampering of any body. the way a woman is treated when her husband dies is different from that of a man, in some issues especially in the northern part of our country, a man is seen to be superior to a woman, the women are raised that way and behave that way. not until children are brought up with the right mentality, these stereotypes will continue. |

traihit: You wrote as if you read it from my mind! I'm tired of people shouting girl-child, marginalization and those similar terms. What about thousands of homeless uneducated boys on the road who have no one to care for them, no activist to invent a mantra to help them, no foundation to secure their future. Yet, the number of thugs and kidnappers are increasing. I'm an advocate of education for both genders but when we weigh the consequences of illiteracy for the two genders, it's more terrible for the boys than the girls because a lot of social nuisance and political thuggery today is caused by these illiterate folks. So let them tell us something else. We've already seen what women can do in power. why not start one for the boys, women are doing it for the girl child, men should wake up also. |

Profkenny1: You saw the plights of underprivileged women, what of plights of underprivileged men?? Men are far more oppressed by the society than women. Men have no one to cry to when oppressed hence the rate of suicide in men is four times that of women.
The specie called man has also being faced with challenges that helped him in helping the woman to survive on this cold planet.
Caring about empowering women while forgetting about men is detrimental to the development of the society.
Caring about the girl child while ignoring the boy child will lead to a dysfunctional society. this is a woman calling for empowerment of female child, let the men in power call for empowerment of the male child na, who is stopping them? women are forming different NGOs for the female child, you are a man oya start your own |

Xisnin: I don't deal with emotional stunts. stick to the topic. I don't know what will happen. It depends on what the police are looking for. Guns or cultists? the men will be targeted but if they are looking for prostitutes, only the women are targeted. I am sure you already know why.
It is the same thing that happens to black suspects in the US. But in their case, their oppressors are mostly whites and they can point fingers. However
You see nothing is really black and white as you think it is.
I don't know really. For a neutral object, it is the men because it is common sense to suspect risk takers in such situation. But if it is a gendered item. The right gender will be targeted first before others.
You see if I go to a farm and found all the crops destroyed, I won't suspect cheese hawkers, it is herdsmen with cows that will be my primary suspect.
Do I really need to explain how this work? Don't you do something similar every day?
Stop using generic examples. In Nigeria, the accuser is mostly believed by the mob. If someone shouts "thief" in the market, you will be lynched regardless of the accuser's gender. That is how it works. Perhaps, you have a specific example in mind?
So many missing information. Who cheers such a person? What is their relationship?
You may protest that is how things are. Humans operate based on hierarchy even if we pretend not to. It is this hierarchy that determines primal reaction to conflict judgment. If a senator slaps a fellow, very few will care but the case will be different if a laborer was abused.
This is getting ridiculous. Asking this question is itself a big problem because it shows you cannot see what it is in front of you. You don't know about the slut/olosho tag weak Too emotional irrational dumb and so on.
I don't know if you are raised in a family or on the street but I know from birth that several people care about me but society doesn't owe me anything aside normal social behaviors from others. Your problem may be that you cherish people's approval too much and have become slave to it in the process. Nobody is brainwashed to spend on women. They willingly do it to get what they want. When it happens, it is pure capitalism. If I may ask, how were you brainwashed to spend on women and who did the brainwashing?
This is enough So many lies and distortion in one post. The man who claimed men are more oppressed is also angry that women are entering politics. What an irony!
Let us assume you normally pick people along the way to work to help them. Now picture yourself driving along a narrow path at night in the rain and you spot 4 people waving you down. Who are you more likely to stop and pick 4 men or 4 women? How about your friends, who are they more likely to wait for? Do you think they are stupid for weighing their risks?
For me, I see nothing wrong with most stereotypes and I won't cry about them because it is what it is.
True oppression involves unreasonable deprivation from what others get from similar scenario or forcing someone to do what they don't want. He didn't allow me to play with his bike is not oppression, it is an individual choice. Any stereotype that doesn't limit finance, freedom or power should be trivial matter in this part of the world.
In some parts of Igbo land, women cannot inherit their father's land. That is oppression. Would you want a female king in your village? We already know the answer.
Not. Hey SARS raided our house took all the men and left the women. Or some religious police arresting only women in some Kano streets for prostitution. Claiming geder-based oppression in such scenarios is foolishness. Of course, the problem needs to be solved but it won't happen through misplaced gender war but the sweeping ban of such actions.
I understand why you hold these erroneous beliefs. Most people who live in the shadows usually think their ideas are a reality because they have never been challenged but when they go outside their comfort zones, they are usually shocked. this is why I love nairaland, you have explained it all, if he doesn't get it after this post, just forget the guy |
