About the mail confirming availability and interest, I got the mail as well. But I am not excited by it. At this point, after waiting for over a year, only a substantive offer of employment can excite me. Or at least, invite for medicals. What I felt happened was that their management thought that 'Ok 6 months ago, we had X number of prospective employees on our waiting list. Let us confirm how many of them are still interested.'

For me, it was more like a headcount. Even tho, I wish to heaven I am wrong on this.

I also agree that this email was sent simply to determine how many interested candidates they still have left to potentially employ. However, if I'm been positive I would have to consider what reason they could possibly have for doing a headcount at this time. It is most likely that they are gearing up for the next batch of experienced hire. Why else would they need to do a head count? Besides, there's a lot of chatter about train 7 recently so who knows... Just stay positive.

I also don't believe anyone has received invitation for medicals yet, but it will happen soon.

Any information for those wait listed fir experience hire. They sent some mails last week seeking guys availability and interest. You can drop yr mobile so we get in touch and updated of wats happening.

I'm also on the wait-list and I got the same mail asking for availability and interest. I'm still hopeful.

Unfortunately I don't have anything new to add except to confirm all that has been said.

When I called, I was told that some experienced candidates had already been hired but that I should be patient as the period given was long enough to accommodate new positions that will come up in future. Nothing specific.

Let's remain hopeful that our time will come...and soon too. They're just saving the best for last. :-)

But after making few phone calls, I was able to confirm that indeed, they have started inviting folks for medicals. Although, I don't know nothing about definitive offer. I can only speak for invitation for medicals.

Which number have you been calling? Can you find out if they are calling by function? I mean engineering, HR, finance, etc.

No, this type of unit cannot be used for a tipper. Tippers are purpose-built for the function they serve. This unit can be used for a trailer in any form though.
Yes, there are other less costly products. However, you need to know before buying, what you will use the product for. This will of course determine what you will eventually buy. Think about what you want to do very well. For instance, you can start off with the cheaper, but much less profitable box trucks (15tons) in order to gain a little experience with drivers, etc before trying the more lucrative, but riskier trailer business. Let me know what you decide and I may have a product that's ideal for your business.

You will rarely find spring suspension on the front and rear tires of most tractors from Europe, even if it is the older FT models. Between tipper and trailer, each can be equally profitable, depends on getting a good loading point, drivers and mechs.
Cost of maintenance between the older and newer models don't vary that much, the cost benefit of replacement parts for an older model (usually over 10 years old) are outweighed by the frequency of repair if you consider how long those trucks were used in Europe and the mileage racked up before selling on. As long as you manage the trucks well and ensure use of genuine diesel, there is little disparity between older and newer models.
