FALSE PUBLICATION BY DAILY POST ON NATIONAL BLACKOUT
The Transmission Company of Nigeria hereby states that the publication by Daily Post alleging that the Head of Public Affairs of TCN said that there will be a national blackout is false and totally misleading.
At the end of the collation at 08:30 am on Sunday, Fashina announced that the collation centre would go on an hour break and reconvene for the winner's announcement.
Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all the 27 local government results announced in the November 11, 2023 governorship poll in Imo State
Collation of results at the State Collation Centre started around 02:30am on Sunday in Owerri, the state capital, with the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Prof Abayomi Fashina, as the state Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the election.
Though 18 parties fielded candidates in the poll, this year’s governorship election in Imo State has been described by analysts as a four-horse race between APC’s Uzodimma who is seeking re-election, Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party’s Achonu Nneji and Jack Ogunewe of the Action Alliance.
According to INEC, the number of registered voters in the state for the poll was 2, 419,922 with 2,318,919 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collected.
At the end of the collation at 08:30 am on Sunday, Fashina announced that the collation centre would go on an hour break and reconvene for the winner’s announcement.
None of the other candidates won any local government.
Like Imo, governorship elections were held in Kogi and Bayelsa on November 11, 2023, though the collation of results from the two states has been adjourned to Sunday morning.

It was a moment of humiliation for Moscow. The headquarters of Russia’s Black Sea fleet – a building of elegant white columns overlooking the Crimean port of Sevastopol – was ablaze. Smoke billowed into a blue sky. First one, and then a second Storm Shadow missile slammed into its roof. Video captured the impact: a precise, deadly, thunderous strike
The attack on 22 September killed 34 officers, including Viktor Sokolov, the fleet’s commander, according to Ukraine. Russia denied this, releasing footage of Sokolov, suggesting he was still alive. Whatever the truth of the admiral’s fate, the blow deep into enemy territory was of major significance. It was further proof that Vladimir Putin’s full-scale invasion, 19 months on, had not gone to plan.
On land, Kyiv’s counteroffensive has made slow progress. Ukrainian troops have run into formidable Russian obstacles. But on water, it is a success story. Largely unnoticed, Ukraine has reclaimed the Black Sea at least in part, by turning it into a no-go zone for Russia’s bristling warships – no mean feat given that Ukraine has no navy to speak of, and a handful of old jets.
obaidan: i love that we won and scored 4.......but let's not lie to ourselves ....we are still mediocre the way we play and move the ball around, sterling still carries d ball and run aimlessly and give to opponents........we can get away doing this with burnley, we cant even try this with a team like brighton not to talk of liverpool or city.....this is not it yet......we cant be winning because the opponent doesnt have much to give, we should be winning because we can actually play and move the ball and not be giving balls to the opponent

sweetgala: The problem with Joe Ajaero is that he has made the NLC a political tool and therefore is exposed to political manipulations, Tinubu is not Buhari who is happy to act aloof, Tinubu is constantly thinking one step ahead, that N25k increment gazzumped Joe and the NLC because their members wouldn't follow them into a strike action if they suspect a measure of good faith from the government.
We saw it some weeks back when they called a strike and some workers refused to participate in several states.
Who is going to negotiate for Private sector, State and LG workers now? It's bad decision to always jump like herds and join federal workers to strike.
It's obvious State Governors are foot dragging on the planned increase in minimum wage so FG will just go ahead and take care of its workers.
Let them all continue. Just like state University joining ASUU strikes on what will likely not be binding on them. Many state workers are still owed salaries oooo but NLC won't do shishi to that!
Federal Governments don't owe money, unionism feeds fat on FG workers rebellion, I'm still waiting for NLC to go to private factories and say they don't like the working conditions of people doing factory work there
This is happening live at the Federal Ministry of Works Headquarters, Mabushi, Abuja where Engr David Umahi locked workers outside the Ministry and gave a directive that nobody should enter. The union are demanding the Minister to come and address them.

Protesting workers in the Ministry of Works have locked the minister, Dave Umahi, inside his office on Thursday morning.
The workers, who accused Umahi of highhandedness, adding that the minister prevented workers who were late to work from gaining access to the ministry.
The union members comprising the Housing and Works Ministry decided to lock up the ministry. The workers also blocked entry and exit into the building thereby preventing the minister from leaving the office premises.
They also claimed that Umahi “stopped engineers and directors from doing their work, and has been breaking public service rules since his appointment, by bringing in consultants to run the affairs of the ministry”
A union official, Williams Kudi, said that the minister has refused to grant them an audience to express their c

salesbloo: Certainly, maintaining poor money habits can significantly impact your financial well-being. Here are some common money habits that, if not managed properly, can keep you in a financially challenging situation, as explained by an accountant:
Failure to create a budget and plan your finances can lead to overspending and inadequate savings. Tracking income and expenses is crucial for financial stability.
Living Beyond Means:
Spending more than you earn can lead to debt and financial stress. It's important to live within your means and prioritize saving and investing for the future.
Not Saving for Emergencies:
Failing to build an emergency fund can leave you financially vulnerable when unexpected expenses or emergencies arise, forcing you into debt.
High Levels of Debt:
Accumulating excessive debt, especially with high interest rates, can become a financial burden, making it challenging to achieve financial goals or save for the future.
Impulse Spending:
Making impulsive purchases without considering their impact on your overall financial situation can deplete your savings and hinder your long-term financial goals.
Neglecting Retirement Savings:
Not contributing enough to retirement savings early on can limit your ability to grow your retirement fund and enjoy a comfortable retirement later in life.
Ignoring Financial Education:
Neglecting to educate yourself about personal finance, investments, taxes, and financial planning can lead to poor financial decisions and missed opportunities for growth.
Overlooking Tax Planning:
Not optimizing your tax strategy can result in paying more in taxes than necessary. Seek professional advice to minimize tax liabilities and maximize savings.
Not Diversifying Investments:
Over-relying on a single type of investment or asset class can expose you to significant risks. Diversifying your investments can help protect your portfolio from market fluctuations.
Delaying Financial Responsibility:
Procrastinating on financial decisions like setting financial goals, investing, or saving for major life events can hinder your financial progress and limit your opportunities for financial growth.
Addressing these poor money habits involves cultivating good financial practices, creating a budget, saving consistently, managing debt wisely, seeking financial advice, and investing for the future. Being disciplined, informed, and proactive in managing your finances is key to achieving financial stability and prosperity.
