Governor Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won all the 27 local government results announced in the November 11, 2023 governorship poll in Imo State

Collation of results at the State Collation Centre started around 02:30am on Sunday in Owerri, the state capital, with the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye Ekiti, Prof Abayomi Fashina, as the state Returning Officer of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the election.

Though 18 parties fielded candidates in the poll, this year’s governorship election in Imo State has been described by analysts as a four-horse race between APC’s Uzodimma who is seeking re-election, Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party’s Achonu Nneji and Jack Ogunewe of the Action Alliance.

According to INEC, the number of registered voters in the state for the poll was 2, 419,922 with 2,318,919 Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) collected.

None of the other candidates won any local government.

Like Imo, governorship elections were held in Kogi and Bayelsa on November 11, 2023, though the collation of results from the two states has been adjourned to Sunday morning.

i love that we won and scored 4.......but let's not lie to ourselves ....we are still mediocre the way we play and move the ball around, sterling still carries d ball and run aimlessly and give to opponents........we can get away doing this with burnley, we cant even try this with a team like brighton not to talk of liverpool or city.....this is not it yet......we cant be winning because the opponent doesnt have much to give, we should be winning because we can actually play and move the ball and not be giving balls to the opponent

Very pathetic and on point. Why must State and Local Government workers, bankers etc join the strike that only benefit federal workers.

The problem with Joe Ajaero is that he has made the NLC a political tool and therefore is exposed to political manipulations, Tinubu is not Buhari who is happy to act aloof, Tinubu is constantly thinking one step ahead, that N25k increment gazzumped Joe and the NLC because their members wouldn't follow them into a strike action if they suspect a measure of good faith from the government.

We saw it some weeks back when they called a strike and some workers refused to participate in several states.

Who is going to negotiate for Private sector, State and LG workers now? It's bad decision to always jump like herds and join federal workers to strike.

This is happening live at the Federal Ministry of Works Headquarters, Mabushi, Abuja where Engr David Umahi locked workers outside the Ministry and gave a directive that nobody should enter. The union are demanding the Minister to come and address them.

Protesting workers in the Ministry of Works have locked the minister, Dave Umahi, inside his office on Thursday morning.

The workers, who accused Umahi of highhandedness, adding that the minister prevented workers who were late to work from gaining access to the ministry.

The union members comprising the Housing and Works Ministry decided to lock up the ministry.
The workers also blocked entry and exit into the building thereby preventing the minister from leaving the office premises.
