Ken4Christ: The real answer is because the Church is blind to the days we are living in. We are in the dispensation of grace and the teachings we ought to follow are the teachings of our Lord Jesus and his Apostles. But ignorant ministers still base some of their doctrines on the Law of Moses which has been abolished.
If We stick to what Jesus and the Apostles taught, there will be little or no contradiction. It is people like you that are a problem to Christianity always choosing one part and throwing away the other. You have just claimed the law has been abolished so it is either you are telling us that the so called dispensation of grace is a period of lawlessness or you show biblical evidence of the criteria for choosing which law stays and which one goes. Since we are now in the dispensation of grace i would also want to know which dispensation those in the time of moses lived in and just a follow up question would those in moses time be saved by grace or by the law. Thanks |

ReinaFarine: Eating Unclean and Unholy Meat
I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean.
For neither, if we eat, are we the better; neither, if we eat not, are we the worse. ....
Paul and James and contradictory believes on the gospel to the gentiles concerning circumcision, eating food with unwashed hands, and other mosaic law found in Leviticus... Paul upholded grace, Peter upholder the law. One God! You have just misquoted and misinterpreted the Bible, the place you quoted Paul has nothing to do with clean and unclean food but talks about meat sacrificed to idols, you must read chapters from the beginning and understand the context. The day truth becomes multiple it becomes a lie, the day God allows multiple truths he becomes a liar, the day the Bible contradicts itself it becomes a work of man, one God, one spirit , one truth Even a human being who contradicts himself is regarded as untrustworthy not to talk of an all knowing God, man has continued to manipulate God's single truth to suit themselves, it is either a part of the Bible is understood or misunderstood, there is nothing like multiple understanding. Different apostles emphasized more on different subjects depending on the need of the people amongst which they find themselves, that doesn't in any way suggest that they played down on other subjects or relegated their importance eg if a man doesn't steal but commits adultery, there is no point teaching him about stealing when you can focus on the adultery which needs change. The question raised by freeze is a valid question every Christian should have asked themselves already. |

How will he get another life if not someone repurchase the one he lost back. His life will only be repurchased if he show sterling gratitude to the repurchaser. 4. What is God's gift to mankind? Jesus, who(Mankind) Why( to reconcile us back to our maker) after disobedience and sin, death led us apart. Sorry i couldn't reply earlier, been busy The verses you quoted in no way support what you are saying let me remind you that your point is that we pay for our sins by our death rather than christ dying for us. That number 4 your initial statement was '' Christ death is a gift '' wonder why you took the death part out, so if we apply the statement you are saying 1. Jesus died for mankind 2. So that we can be saved. Somehow you also left the how part out and i will still want to ask how does christ death reconcile us to our maker. |

If the free gift of life is lost to death, please how will you get it back on your own? That is why christ death is a gift. A life(Jesus) in exchange for many lives. Simple. The more i try to understand this your theory, the more confusing it gets because it keeps going in circles. But let's do it like this - 1. Still waiting for the biblical evidence to back up this theory. 2. Why exactly did Christ have to come to earth and die? 3. If someone borrows money and becomes a debtor does he remain a debtor? Following the logic of your theory that everyone who dies temporarily is sin free, that means they are eligible for eternal life na, or won't they be judged? 4. Please what do you mean by this statement "That is why christ death is a gift." to who, why, how?? Thanks |

achorladey: Matthew 20:28 even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many. Just like it was during isrealites, life for life. Jesus christ is a life giving spirit. 1 Cor 15:45. The life we lost as a result of sin leading to death is given back to us because of exercising faith in the greatest gift mankind can ever think of Jesus christ the life giving spirit. The Bible is so clear about Christ dying for our sins, why do you choose to downgrade the sacrifice christ had to make. 1 Corinthians 15:3, 2 Corinthians 5:21 etc, so many of them. Christ gives us eternal life by virtue of the fact that he has taken and paid the price for our sins and in turn given us the righteousness which he has earned |

Adam ability to gain his life back after he gave it in exchange for sins is no longer within his power. This is where death of Jesus christ comes in. Those that are living now and those that will be resurrected under Gods kingdom will not live for themselves believing they have earned it within their own capacity but instead they got the right to live again because of the person that die for them Jesus christ. I don't even understand what you are saying, first where in the Bible did you get this your theory of paying for our sins by our death (temporary) Please explain this statement "Adam ability to gain his life back after he gave it in exchange for sins is no longer within his power. If I pay for my sin by myself I have definitely earned the right to life because it is sin that holds us against death, death has no power over one without sin. |

achorladey: Get this straight....... Adam has one life given to Adam by God, Adam can decide to lose it by disobeying his maker. What will Adam get in return for sinning against his maker? DEATH. Dont forget its just that "one life". Now, since Adam has decided to buy death from company SIN, company SIN will pay him Death in return for his 'one life'. Therefore, you know Adam on his own cannot bring himself back to life because that is comprehensively beyond Adam's power, this where christ death comes in. 1 Corinthians 5: 15 and he died for all so that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for him who died for them and was raised up. So,Adam paid for his sins with that single life he has but he cannot redeem him it back on his own. Christ ransom sacrifice becomes the greatest gift Romans 6:23 from God. Only for those who exercise faith in it. Adam does not need Christ if his own death has paid for his sin, Christ doesn't need to come and die for sinners to be able to resurrect them. If we were to pay for our sins without Christ it will be eternal and complete destruction for everyone which is why Christ had to come and be a substitute for us. The verse you quoted is talking about the living and how we who believe in Christ should live in newness of life putting away self and it's desires and living for Christ(living a christ like life). You need to read that verse over starting from the beginning of the chapter. It is even clearly written there "those who live should live no longer for themselves but for him" the verse has absolutely nothing to do with death and resurrection. Thanks |

@ op God is all knowing but at the same time he allows humans freedom of choice, he knows the outcome of whatever choices you may take but he does not choose for you, eg if you are faced with a temptation to steal which is a sin God knows the outcome of your choosing to sin or not to sin but the decision rest solely on you.
No one is predestined to sin or not to sin, we make those choices for our selves. God only knows the end result of our choices, he doesn't choose for us. Thanks |

achorladey: @OP please read Romans 6:7 and then ask your question again. That automatically render your question inadequate. On the judgement day we are all looking forward to, it is not meant for judging past deeds. So what is the Judgement Day. Just like marketfund said its not a 24 hour thing. It has far greater meaning than what some people are thinking today. For record purpose, the judgement day is not meant to judge past deeds(what we are all doing now) because I believe whenever we pray we are in a way laying bare our sins before our creator. So God did not need to set aside a special day again to present ones sins when the indivivual present it himself/herself on daily basis when he/she pray to God. Please go back and read romans chapter 6, begin from the verse one so you will understand that the verse is simply saying that one who is dead is incapable of committing sin therefore when we are buried with christ in baptism our old self dies to sin and we become new. It is after judgment has taken place that people will pay for their sins by eternal death(which is the wages of sin) , whatever death we die today is temporary especially for those who believe in christ because he has died in our stead. If we could pay for our sins by dying, christ death on the cross would be of no use. Thanks |

From your write up you must have gone through secondary school by using expo and copying hence your dependence on such things which have also made you deficient in knowledge hence your difficulty in understanding, year one is more of secondary school work and knowledge builds on knowledge. Secondly, there is a difference between spending long hours in class or keeping late nights and reading, reading is not based on the quantity of time spent but on the quality. For you to say you have read you must have either understood or crammed the subject matter and you must be ready to consolidate this knowledge by going over it many times, emphasis is on being able to reproduce it so you must test yourself, this way it can never fly from your head inside the hall. I also feel you are trying to convince yourself that this problem is from your village or due to some circumstances beyond your control which is very false, you must realize that you are completely responsible for your bad result and that your fate rests solely in your hands it is left for you to decide what you want and how much effort you are ready to put in to get it. Finally, our educational system is basically garbage in, garbage out so you don't even need to be intelligent to do well, all you need is hard work and commitment and you must try to understand the system, get to know your senior colleagues and seek their advice and guidance, you may also change your friends to people who can carry you along academically. Thanks and good luck, hope i have been of help. |

This form of harsh economic ideology cannot jumpstart the mirage of eldorado those idiots in Aso Rock think will happen. You cannot put the cart before the horse and expect to move forward. Christianity Etc › Re: Is Water Baptism Really Important? by s4short: 7:54pm On Mar 26, 2017 |
John 3 : 5 Jesus answered, "Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.
Christians must learn to accept the words of the Bible regardless of what you think, how you feel, what you have been taught or what you like because the Bible is very clear on this matter and Jesus christ himself made the above statement without mincing words so why should any Christian say otherwise.
From that passage both the baptism of water and that of the spirit are mandatory for salvation and are inseparable, you can't take one and leave the other neither does any supersede the other. If someone is baptized with water and refuses to allow the holy spirit lead him to live the new life he has been baptized into he is not different from one who has accepted christ but has refused to be baptized of water ( regardless of the amount of holy spirit in him) the Bible says both will not enter the kingdom of God.
The baptism by water indicates that we are partakers of the death of christ on the cross for our sins and his resurrection to life (baptism by water is saying i am one of those christ died for on the cross) , while baptism by the spirit is what enables us to continue living in the newness of life into which we have been baptized.
The central theme in baptism by water is 'justification by faith', which means instead of us being judged based on our works we are judged based on our faith in the righteousness of christ which is substituted for our sin by his death on the cross and we exemplify this believe by water baptism for those living after christ(pointing us back to the cross) while for those before christ it was by sacrificing a lamb representing or pointing forward to Jesus' death on the cross. That is why it was not practiced before the coming of christ.
I pray that God will grant us understanding of his word in Jesus name. |

Okay, the adultress woman, why did jesus not allow the teachers of the law to stone her to death ? does it mean that jesus break the law ? No, He fulfilled the law for the woman, thus, she is save by Grace. Jesus did not stop the people from stoning the woman neither did he say she was not deserving of being stoned to death rather he said 'let him who is without sin cast the first stone' in other words let him who is not deserving of death like this woman cast the first stone. Jesus simply gave that woman a second chance of which 3rd, 4th, 5th......... chances are still available to us today which is the definition of grace. Remember his last statement 'go and sin no more' pointing her back to the law, the law is what guides us, grace is our insurance that even though we may fall there is still hope of perfect restoration. |

Why did Adam run ans hide wen he heard God in the garden? The consciousness of a wrong doing
Was there law wen Cane killed his brother? No Why did he trick him into following him to a secluded place, killed and hid his body? How did he know it was wrong? Conscience.
Wen God came asking for Abel his brother, why didnt he say, "I killed him"? The consciousness of a wrong done.
Why did Abram accept to obey and follow a strange God didderent from the ones his progenitors had known ans worshiped? How did he know that this new God was the real God? Conscience.
Was there law during Sodom and Gomorah? What gave Abraham the impression that righteousness could save those nations if 10 righteous souls were found therein?
How did Lot know that Homosexuality was a sin for him to have fought to protect the men under his roof? Instead he opted to give his virgin daughters to the men to defile rather than allow them sexually assault his visitors?
Which law did Lot saw that Homosexuality was a sin against God?
Conscience, Conscience, conscience...
Can you now see that you are the one confused because you follow these things based on your senses? Please from the creation of man God's law has been present though it wasn't in written form but was passed from generation to generation, it was not merely conscience acting in those scenarios because if there was no law there wouldn't have been sin because sin is transgression of God's law and people won't have received punishments for their sins. Also Abraham and lot's lineage can be traced back to Noah which explains why they knew more abi were the inhabitants of sodom and Gomorrah devoid of conscience? |

Justcash: 1) Sudden Implementation of Treasury Single Account (TSA)- This policy threw the banking and financial sector into turmoil as huge sums were swept out of banks and dormantly stashed into a preferred safe.
2) Tightening of Foreign Exchange Transactions- This policy made it difficult to make foreign exchange, and threw thriving businesses into turmoil which led to massive sacking of workers and manufacturing slowdown.
3) Unguarded Utterances During Foreign Trips- The president made several unguarded utterances that gave the impression that Nigeria was headed for the rocks. This made foreign investors hesitant about coming into Nigeria, and encouraged those that were already in Nigeria to speculate and pull out funds.
4) Halting of Important Projects in the Niger Delta- Buhari moved to remove majority of the projects that were created to provide tangible benefits to Niger-Deltans. For example, the Maritime University and Pipeline protection projects. Though, some of these projects were condemned by Nigerians, they kept the Niger-Delta at peace and allowed for the maximization of the benefits from petroleum exports.
5) Buhari's Northern Developmental Focus in Nigeria- The developmental aim of the president is very much skewed towards Northern Nigeria than every other part. So, he is more like kick starting a new economic focus, while dumping existing economic strengths. For example, he is devoting billions of dollars to search for petroleum in the North when Nigeria does not have functional refineries to ensure adequate availability of petroleum products that are already being produced in the South.
6) Elimination of All the Policies Made by PDP- it is on record that even though PDP led governments were corrupt, they made some major strides in diversifying Nigeria's economy. For example, Agricultural export came to life under PDP. Buhari has focused on bedeviling and antagonizing every single policy made by the PDP. In the process, he has thrown out good policies and progress that were made in the past. He is almost starting afresh, and this has rebooted Nigeria and thrown us years backwards.
7) Preference for Violence over Dialogue- Buhari prefers to use military force to quell civil strife. This approach ignites more protests and civil disobedience. An economy cannot experience progress in violent conditions. Even Lagos and Ogun axis has experienced an open show of military bombardment, which scares a heck out of investors. The same is true about the production shut ins in the Niger Delta region. Some of these issues can be solved with dialogue and with police actions than full scale military assaults. Reasons why your write up is incorrect 1. Truth is what the country is going through goes way beyond the TSA which by the way is achieving it's desired aim, and since you are faulting it's sudden implementation which actually was not sudden because the process was started by the previous administration but like everything in Nigeria we wait till the last minute and cry foul. 2. Try considering the alternative to tightening the forex market and ask yourself how sustainable that would have been considering the decline in foreign currency earnings due to the fall in oil price, it can be likened to a man earning 100,000, who spends half of it on feeding himself every month so you expect that the day his pay is cut to 50,000 he would continue to spend that way when he has nothing in the bank? Truth is there is no better alternative to what the CBN is doing though it seems a hard path, it is the best path and they should be Lauded for it. 3.Any investor planning on coming to a country already knows the challenges of doing business in that country and informing them only goes to reassure them of your commitment towards changing the situation and protecting their investments from it. 4. Those so called projects were more like avenues for plundering the region though I also feel more diplomacy should have been used in restructuring them overtime. The rest points are simply based on sentiments and inadequate information so I don't see the need to comment on them. |

Tellemall: Cultists?
The husband has told us something and you are telling us it's cultists.
Do you believe every body in that vicinity was a Mohammedan and in the mosque? Do all Mohammedans go to the mosque? No strays annoyed at what their imam said about her?
In all, it's a sad event. May the perpetrators be found out. So what did you see in the husbands statement that confirmed Muslims as the assailant. The problem with Christians today is we don't even understand what it means to follow christ, how can we be so eager to encourage and support a feud with no single evidence or reason to back it up? |
