I wonder where you got the notion that I am denigrating Aba. I am Nwa Aba at heart. I never said that Abia should reconstruct the whole stretch of the express road to Enugu and PH ; I mentioned the main arterial road in Aba, which connects you to anywhere you want to go to in Aba. It's only 14KM long end to end from Osisioma junction to Alaoji through town. The other stretch is from Osisioma (Old toll gate area) express stretch to Alaoji, which is about 16KM long, making a total of 30KM. Faulks road is not a Federal road. I am happy to see that some Aba roads are getting repaired but Okezie has been a total failure and you know it. Aba is dear to every Igbo man and we know that poor governance has hindered the potentials of this awesome city.

How do you feel when people whose states cannot lace Abia's shoes heap all sorts of insults on Abia because the useless governors are busy playing federal and state politics with the roads while looting the state dry? Look at the increment to Abia debt burden since 2015 and tell me it is commensurate with the progress made by the state. Okezie deserves to rot in jail alongside Orji and Kalu
Its insane that people are defending the indefensible. Alaoji to Osisioma is a short distance that is so important to the city of Aba. Anybody in their right mind knows that any state govt that wants to boost GDP and revenue would repair this stretch in 6 months and bill the federal govt.

The state government fools Aba residents by telling them Faulks road is federal road, Uratta is federal road, Port Harcourt road is federal road etc all while sharing the states allocation between T.A Orji, his son, and Ikpeazu & his minions

Igbo people get insulted left and right by people from towns and places who have nothing on Aba all because of the wickedness of Abia's leaders.
Nowhere outside of Lagos in Nigeria has anything on Aba. It breaks my heart what is happening to Aba which is the Lagos of the east.

You can even loot and still make Aba a juggernut but the wicked men controlling the state are so heartless. They see the citizens as conquered slaves who cannot do anything to stop their criminality

Oga, you initially sounded like a concerned Igbo passionate about the development of Aba.

Now you are gradually eating your way in like a worm to destroy this thread.

Aba today is MUCH better than it was a years ago, it's transformation won't happen overnight. There are jobs to create, bills to pay, legal issues to contend with and so on.... all you care about is FAULT FINDING. If you are looking for fault, Aba has a lot of it, same as other cities in Nigeria. But don't come and dilute the enthusiasm we have about Aba's journey to recovery.
I am an Igbo man extremely passionate about Igbo land developing.

There are millions of igbos around the world in the diaspora who would unleash capital inside a functional Aba and create massive wealth in it if the city were fixed.

If you build solid long lasting 25km of road every year in Aba every year for the past 5 years of Ikpeazu's govt, Aba's road network would be unrivaled in Nigeria. A city of entrepreneurs needs basic infrastructure like roads to flourish, not paid propagandists online.

Nobody needs to promote anything Ikpeazu has done. Just fix Aba and it will speak for itself
PoliticsRe: Abia State Development Thread- PICTURES by sage(m): 8:04am On Jun 30, 2020
Very few cities in West Africa has the potential Aba does. Aba should be a leading African city known on a first name basis around the continent. The place should be the pride of Igbo land. With so many Igbo people in the diaspora, this should be the Lagos and Abuja of the east. Where people come to all the time be they resident in Malaysia, South Africa, Germany, Canada or Brazil

The people who have power in Abia state are destroying the place and sinking its potential. Paying for propaganda will not fix it at all or change anything

This video was shot about a week ago. Those here selling propaganda should understand that nobody is fooled. We are begging you guys to clean up Aba and fix the roads of this great city. Abia state can never be said to be developed until Aba becomes a great city again. If they like, they can tar all the roads in Abriba, Arochukwu or Umuahia. Without fixing Aba, Abia state is dead ad a viable place.

It is a shame what you have allowed Aba to become!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQfk-ivc-e0
I dont get the people promoting propaganda online for the Orji clan and Ikpeazu? What is the use of the lies they are promoting?

Just fix Aba and this crown jewel of a city will promote itself. You dont need a paid army of propagandists to promote the idea of say Abuja having good roads. Why do you need that for Aba if the roads were actually good? Stop paying these people to promote an alternate reality and just fix the damn place already

Fix all the roads, change the horrific markets to malls and unleash the massive potential of the city. There is no point in propaganda.

This market is very near to Enyimba stadium. When foreigners come to Aba to play Enyimba this is the horror show they are greeted with. Yet we want people to respect us. They view us as animals

I usually ignore hoodlums and they can continue to write and respond to their own ignorance a thousand times with many monikers, until they wear themselves out. But, i briefly looked through your profile and i'm not sure if you are writing out of sincerity. So i'll respond just once.

I am different from you paid hatchet writers because i neither care if the politician is in APC, PDP or APGA. Nor if the state is Abia, Ebonyi or Anambra. I am ONLY concerned about the development of Igboland. I don't even read thread outside my area of interest because it concerns people from that region.

Aba is perhaps the greatest Igbo city, yet it was neglected by successive Abia governors since 1999 beginning with Orji Uzor Kalu! Thus, responsible Igbo people have continued to condemn and openly expose the foolhardiness of neglecting Aba, the greatest city with the greatest potential to propel the Abia state, massively increase the IGR, and lead the industrial renaissance of the entire SE region, and opting to focus on developing other mushroom towns in Abia state.

If Abia Governor turn a new leaf and begin a massive urban renewal of Aba instead of senseless propaganda on the internet with half educated brats, then i will openly acknowledge and praise their new attitude towards Aba. Again, i totally don't care if you repost, insult, cajole or do whatever you like about my post. It doesn't change my opinion nor will it make me to lie on your behalf in my next post unless i verify that indeed the roads have been fixed.
I wonder why the Orji clan and Ikpeazu feel the need to use public state money to pay so many touts here to promote falsehoods so they can continue their looting and destruction of Abia unabated forever.

When Aba actually changes, you don't need to be on here and do anything. So many vloggers here will showcase that for free. Instead their videos from last month and this month show nothing but a horror show

Aba is Igbo lands greatest city. These morons are destroying it and think online propaganda is the way to go. The city is an absolute CROWN JEWEL. Its so sad these morons on here dont understand the implication of what they are doing

Very true!
Nigeria has failed the Black World because the country was supposed to be a rallying point for all Black people, world over.
Country is completely messed-up with corruption and tribalism, the level as of today is even unimaginable.

So, when we see other Blacks in foreign lands fighting for emancipation, we should reflect on that and let it spur us to do something about our own problems as well.

The Nigerian Police/Security Agents have killed more black people during this Covid-19 period, that the total number of Black people killed by White Police in America this year-to-date.
What have we done about that than focus on what happens elsewhere?
Fulani Herdsmen kill more Black people in one year, than all the White Police in the whole world can kill in Ten Years
Boko Haram, Kidnappers, Ritualists and Cultists kill more Black people in One years than America has ever killed in the last fifty years.
All these happen daily, without any demonstration by Nigerians or accountability from the Govt, Why is America not standing with Protesters in Nigeria but is standing with Protesters in Tianamen Square, China, THRITY ONE YEARS AFTER?

Look at the "corroborative looting" going-on between the Executive and Legislative arms of govt at this very moment.
Chop-l-Chop Government.

Give #27Billion to do ordinary renovation of the National Assembly (they were elected to make Laws, not become Contractors of inflated projects), allow us to keep our constitutency Allowances and we will allow you to get another $5.5 Billion debt.

All these debt will be paid by me and you, with our sweat, as our currency devalues, we work for almost nothing and our wages would buy one ear of Corn or nothing in the open market.
What are we doing about these thieves in the NASS, to start with?
People in Nigeria are extremely docile. Docile to the nth degree. Slaves in their own country and do nothing.

Complain about politicians, police brutality, random killings, horrific infrastructure etc all while sitting at home and doing nothing.

Millions of people should have been out on the streets protesting the NASS renovation and the almost $100 billion debt this govt has collected in their name.

Yet they do absolutely nothing

What am I lying about?

Aba had non Nigerians living and working in it in the 1980's. Even European brand showrooms like Bata shoes had showrooms in Aba

Aba has decayed so much now it even lacks basic sanitation or roads. The horror is unspeakable and North African teams that come to Aba to play Enyimba must conclude that our people are nothing but animals considering Aba' s state (all just so the T.A. Orji criminal enterprise can continue in perpetuity)

Aba was one of the first places in Nigeria to get anything that debuted in Lagos. Multiple cinemas, supermarkets eateries, concerts etc. Today Aba is in such a horrific state it lacks a mall, cinema (it used to have multiple in the 1980's) basic sanitation or roads
PoliticsRe: . by sage(m): 9:09pm On Jun 01, 2020
Propaganda achieves nothing.

When Mbakwe worked on Aba and set up the city nicely, all big Igbo men, industrialists, people returning from overseas etc moved there to live. Americans, Europeans, Chinese, Indians etc lived in the city and their kids attended school there.

People voted with their feet and with their money in investments. No need for joke propaganda we have here. Igbo land benefited and made a name for itself with Aba made.

Why does T.A, Ikuku and Ikpeazu need a propaganda army being paid by Abia State money here trying to fool people?

Abia and Aba in particular is the filthiest most decayed place in Nigeria. The truth about this will take center stage soon on a more global forum. No amount of propaganda can hide it forever or alter reality

No one is a saint, but what is going on in Abia state since 1999 is sheer wickedness.
How can people be so wicked? Because of a few pennies they are given they promote propaganda that impoverishes Abians and destroys their future.

A couple of Igbo people I know living overseas have wanted to set up businesses that would employ hundreds of youths and pay them as much money as they would make in Lagos in Aba and help bolster the economy of the east. Unfortunately whenever we come to Aba (including this year) and see the horror the city is in we are left speechless and have held off.

If the criminal gang holding Abia hostage were removed tomorrow, the amount of investments pouring into the city would dwarf the crumbs T.A Orji, Ikuku and Ikpeazu give their propaganda army and provide massive employment opportunities for them.

A lot of Igbos would not need to move to Lagos anymore to secure high paying jobs

Anybody who believes that any of this money will be used to build any road is a fool of the highest order.

Just search Ikpeazu and Port Harcourt Road here on Nairaland. He allocated billions to repairing that road and even flagged it off with Dave Umahi 3 years ago to much fanfare. All the money is gone and nothing was done.

Apart from the ph road axis, I can comfortably say that no section in as is as dilapidated as you seem to think, it isn't propaganda since these year, I know how many pics of road construction in and has graced these thread, but some of you choose to glose over it.
To put all these to bed, choose a weekend to come over to aba and check out things for yourself then post pics on these thread.
Saying all the spoilt roads in aba metropolitan area can be done in a year is simply a fallacy
Dude you don't need to convince me or anybody else of anything. Its something that T.A Orji, his son and Ikpeazu don't seem to understand. Reality is a very stubborn thing that an army of propagandists will eventually bow down to.

To continue their criminal enterprise with impunity they have invested in a vast propaganda machine that believe they can alter reality and pretend that Aba and Abia State is better than it is and deceive people. All while Abia sinks below Zamfara, and the worst Northern states in Nigeria.

What they don't know is that not only can the criminal enterprise not last forever, it is a completely wasted effort that is destroying the most talented and promising city in the east.

Igbo intellectuals and rich industrialists who used to live in Aba now all live in Lagos. Igbo land is desolate. Our language and culture is being lost and our people are dispersed all around the world.

All so some criminals can keep enjoying the loot that they did not work for
PoliticsRe: . by sage(m): 7:11am On May 29, 2020
There is so much that can be done to resuscitate the south East. We have failed so badly that our region competes with really poor regions of the north. I mean Zamfara generating more revenue than the great Aba and made in Aba within Abia State. All the western states are so far ahead of us except Ekiti.

If you guys want to understand why I’m sounding the alarm so much about Aba, look at Enugu for example

Enugu leads in IGR because it also has the most basic infrastructure in the south East. If Aba had Enugu’s Road management and waste management it would be the leading place in the south East.

It’s why I have little tolerance for the army of propagandists for the criminals holding Abia state hostage. They are damaging Igbo land and driving Igbos into oblivion. They are the most wicked actors in Nigeria’s political space.

All so T.A Orji, Ikpeazu and Ikuku can keep Igbo people in abhorrent bondage worse than anything Fulani’s are doing to the southeast.

If Ikpeazu fixes only 25 miles per year since he came in , Aba’s Road network would rival Abuja’s

Stop endorsing trash man. It’s our people that are getting damaged by this. No reasonable person would see the filth that Aba is in 2020 and invest a penny there.

Look at where investing in propaganda instead of infrastructure by the Orji’s, Ikuku and Ikpeazu has left the most developed city in the old Eastern region.

They have destroyed a once thriving city. Their short sighted wickedness is destroying Igbo people and Igbo people are slowly going into irrelevance.

Some Igbo people seem to assume that we would always be relevant but due to the actions of people like the criminals running Abia state, people who were raised in Aba are not raising their kids there. They move to Lagos and Abuja and their children struggle to speak our language. The region is comatose economically as its industrial heartland has been destroyed by heartless leadership.

Look at IGR today. We laugh at the North but Abia and Imo are competing with Jigawa, Zamfara etc in IGR while we beat our chests and talk about Yorubas, Fulani’s etc

PoliticsRe: . by sage(m): 10:29am On May 28, 2020
What breaks my heart about Igbo land is that Igbo people have the most power of diaspora in Nigeria and can harness that to create a booming region.

It happened in Aba in the 70’s and 80’s. Nice city that Igbos from all around the world and foreigners could move to and live just like Lagos and Abuja today. All that is required is to create basic roads and drainages with side walks and basic sanitation so the city resembles a place human beings live in and not animals.

To repair every current road in Aba would take less than 100 miles of road repair. Any serious government can do it in a year.

Even a joke of a government that only repairs 25 miles of road a year in Aba would have the city with a better road network than Uyo or PH or Lagos or even Abuja.

If Ikpeazu handled only 18 miles of road a year since he was inaugurated Aba’s road networks would be the best in Nigeria in his 5 years. But the level of wickedness in his heart and that of his puppet masters is so much that they rather pay an army of propagandists to spend all their time on forums like this and social media pretending that the reality of Aba and Abia state isn’t what it is. They promote photo ops of the governor around manual cement mixers with wheel barrow and expect people to applaud it.

How can one be this wicked to his own home city killing its enormous potential and his own ethnic group
? Yet Igbo people here are fooled into thinking Fulani’s, Buhari, Abba Kayiri, Yoruba’s etc are our problem.

What the state propaganda machine doesn’t recognize is that they are destroying what was once the pride of Ndi Igbo. They are harming Igbo people irreparably and erasing our identity as a people.

So many Igbo people around the world would bring investments and prosperity to Aba if only the people holding the state hostage understood how they are throwing away the jewel of Igbo land and it’s massive potential.

Aba used to be Lagos of the East. If an Igbo man came back straight from USA or a Europe, he could relocate his family to Aba and raise his kids there. 30 years later Aba is an uninhabitable filth. Most big Igbo men lived in the city. Foreigners doing business lived in the city. Today it’s a ghost slum unfit for human habitation

Fulani’s and Yorubas are not the reason why a big city like Aba doesnt even have a single mile stretch of good road.

Purehuman:
In the 80’s, 90’s, and early 2000s, the transport sector was firmly in the hands of the igbos. Alas, everyone has woken up, modernization and competition has made the sector revenue coming to the igbos drop considerably.

The Auto sector is still thriving but with the coming of technology and ease of import, people are going to the source to get some of these goods themselves. Another hit on us again.

The Commerce sector has been heavily attacked from everywhere. We now have very strong competition in these sectors and it is killing businesses.

What is the problem? The igbos do not control the economy of Nigeria anymore. We are not in control and our region do not hold any strong advantage presently in the scheme of things. If we ask ourselves, what does southeast have that Nigeria depends on? Nothing. There is something about being unimportant. The only importance of the east is it’s people and the people’s capacity are being challenged continuously.

The igbo to survive really need to devise a strategy of total control of the sub Saharan market. We can be in control without having the capital city in our hands. We can create the biggest economy in Africa if we strategize very well.

There is a misused power in Nigeria that needs to be taken but if only we plan to take it, our freedom will surely be taken from us. Remember that every policy in Nigeria has not favored the igbo people in recent times. It has strangled us in no small measures that we will need to create a new route towards economic development.

I found out many of us in this thread have spent most of our times trying to micromanage our small development when others are eating fat on the total revenue of the country. Do we still have really big businesses in the east that can develop and generate funds for the region?

Do we have healthcare system that take care of us during our bad times and also redirect the over 1billion dollar’s Nigerians spend on health tourism around the world?

Do we have the capacity to create an economic giant from igbo land? Or should we maintain our state of economic comatose.

If we do not do something right now, we will regret it. I have always said it “our best times should be tomorrow not our yesteryears.”
Thanks for being honest. Some Igbo people here lie to themselves all day and pretend the Southeast is an economic juggernaut when in reality a lot of people are even scared of going back home because of kidnapping and most influential entrepreneurs have fled to Lagos (and some Abuja)

Cities like Aba that used to be the industrial heart of Igbo land has been rotting while people who are destroying places like Abia state engage in silly propaganda even on this platform

What is so sad about what South east leaders are doing is that they are eroding our ethnic identity slowly. When our kids are born in Lagos,, Abuja or overseas to parents who run away from Igbo land and dont spend anytime there anymore because its comatose economically and unsafe, these kids lose our language and our culture slowly fades away. Our identity dies bit by bit

Our problem is not Fulani, Yorubas or any of these things we waste our time on. I weep whenever I see all these arguments on here. Our problem is Ikpeazu, T.A Orji, Ikuku and the likes. They are the one destroying Igbo land

Igbo people need to realize that until Aba's plight changes and power is removed from the hands of the Orji clan and their stooges (like Ikpeazu), the southeast WILL keep falling behind. The place that powered manufacturing and industry along with commerce in Nigeria has been turned into a complete wasteland. A city with amazing promise and ability to be a leading city in Nigeria turned into a trash dump.

Forget about Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba's and turn all the fire power to changing Aba. The whole Southeast and surrounding areas like PH and Uyo would benefit massively from it.

Igbo's primary battle before Igbo presidency, who built Lagos, Yorubas and Hausa/Fulani etc is to get their premier city functioning again. It should be to change the horror that is Aba

It's either you are high on some concoctions, or you are yet to use your medication.

You voted him in, not me.
I have no business with you or your governor.

The damaged road was posted on the internet and governor started repairs in less than 24 hours - that which was commendable.

You have a big problem.
Just like he flagged off Port Harcourt road repair 3 years ago right?

These guys think we are complete fools and slaves without any recourse. They feel they can subjugate everybody the way they want and nothing will ever happen. They have gotten away with it for over a decade now and think it would last forever. Their day of reckoning is coming though

Who believes this trash propaganda? The usual propaganda MO

This video could come back to haunt Ikpeazu and his minions when it isnt attended to. Unlike the case of Port Harcourt road where after taking pictures on caterpiller and allocating billions to the road nothing happened and these guys act with impunity, taking the people in Aba as helpless fools.

Impunity only lasts so long and the day of reckoning will come and will be swift for these people who think they can do anything they want and get away with it

See them, especially the ABIA people insulting him online yet they were the same people that voted him.

This man was supposed to loose by wide margin considering the fact that he was contesting against Alex Otti, a seasoned technocrat, yet the idiotic ABIA people felt that Ngwa man deserved to be the Governor of the state.

See the consequences - bad governance all over the place. Election has consequence and they should face the consequence of bad governance.

Next time, their eyes go clear when choosing a leader - Ndi Abia, Ndoo nu!
Abia people voted for Otti. Ikpeazu was rigged in after he lost.

Abia is being held hostage by people who are intent on keeping the state the way that it is. You have no idea how wicked and devious the people holding Abia State down are.

They consider Abians helpless fools and think internet propagandists can perpetuate their power forever while Abians live in filth and decay and they make away with all the wealth meant for the state.

Abia people are averse to development, no wonder they don't want Otti
Abia people voted for Otti. You dont seem to understand how devious the people we are talking about are. They have so rigged INEC in the state that even if Otti wins 90% of the vote, INEC will declare the candidate of the Orji family winner regardless.

Abia needs federal intervention ASAP. The state newspapers and radio stations did not even dare mention the news of T.A. Orji and his son looting the state dry. They are completely bought off and muzzled.

The folks that control Abia act with so much impunity because they dont see how anybody can disrupt the deadly stranglehold they have on the state

What a joke. Look at what somebody put up here because they were paid by the useless Govt to promote propaganda. And even ten they debase themselves with the so called good pictures

All because the horrific Abia state govt has given them a few Naira. God have mercy!
