seiyefajohn: Be "A DREAMER" and "A DOER"
"Until you start doing, you will never get going." Dreamers are many, but those who take action towards accomplishing their dreams are few.
Be a dreamer and a doer, don't just stop at dreaming. Dreaming and doing is the way to the height you seek. Dreaming alone don't pay results or returns; doing does.
Dreaming can only amount to more dreams and fairytale thoughts. But doing is capable of attracting manifestion. Dreaming is intangible, doing is tangible.
The intangible has no place in physicality, this realm is meant for tangible things. Be passionate about taking doing as much as you do about dreaming; and watch manifestation happen.
Dream and do comrades.

Christianity Etc › Re: Has Life Circumstances Made You Complain Bitterly Against God? by sageb: 2:31pm On May 23, 2021 |
Ctorch: Has Life Circumstances Made you complain bitterly against God
Has Life Circumstances Made you complain bittter against God? Is what you are passing through in this life made you complain bittterly against God even to the extent of changing your name.
Let's look at an old testament figure in Ruth chapter one about a woman called Naomi. Naomi left Bethlehem Judah to Moab with her husband and two sons Mahlon and Chilon and there in foreign land the husband and two sons died-- Such a predicament befalling a woman at her age but something happened.
When Naomi began to sojourn back from Moab and if you read Ruth 1 vs 19 “ So they two went until they came to Bethlehem. And it came to pass when were come to Bethlehem that all the CITY WAS MOVED ABOUT THEM AND THEY SAID, IS THIS NAOMI?
Looking at the passage the people were moved and they began to ask questions 1. Is this how life has kept Naomi 2. Is this how Situation/Circumstances has mesmerized this woman 3. Is this how the world has turned against this woman? 4. Is this Naomi that we used to know? 5. Is this how this woman Naomi that left Bethlehem with her husband and two sons nows looks like? Has people asked such questions to you due to your condition? The bible said people were moved and started asking questions.
But something happened and Naomi in response in verse 20 said to them “ Do not call me Naomi ( To her Naomi meant something nice, good and noble), Call me Mara ( Bitterness) for the Almighty has dealt bitterly with me.
---Notice the emphasis she laid here “ For the Almighty has...” Her life circumstances has led her to complain bitterly against God.
She didn't stop here but she went further in verse 21 and said “ I went out full and the Lord has brought me home again empty, why then call me Naomi seeing the lord has TESTIFIED against me and the almighty has AFFLICTED me----Very touching.
Here is a woman complaining so bitterly against God due to circumstances inn her life because she thinks all hopes are lost. Has Circumstances in your life ever made you to complain bitterly against God? Has life situation made you blame God in anyway? I have looked up I have prayed up waiting to be called up Lord, let your will be done. |

DeepSight: Alrite, let's unwind with some fun. Reading some posts of my atheist friends on NL, I realized that notwithstanding our disagreements I am quite fond of some of them. To bridge the divide between atheists and theists on this board, lets play a little team building game: here goes: theists, mention your favourite atheists on NL and say nice things about them, and vice versa!
As a theist: I would mention my favourite atheists on this board:
1. KAG (on sabbatical), but for her very high intelligence and sarcasm
2. ToneyB ( - also on Sabbatical - Ever the briliant Professor)
3. Mazaje : For his exceptional honesty, decency, objectivity, and most importantly for his careful distinction between the existence of GOD and the existence of man made Gods
4. Plaetton: The most profound thinker I have ever met who called himself an atheist. I have told him that he is pantheist, though.
5. The Homer: Succinct and clear in all his arguments. Never unduly wordy. Masks behind soft rejoinders an aggressive and all-pervading intellect!
6. Idehn: Awfully bright guy and desperately pays attention to words and definitions: a tad frustrating, though.
7. Jayriginal: Fair minded and careful in distinctions. Very careful. I have a sneaky view though that he is more agnostic than atheist: though he himself asserts that there is no distinction.
8. And last but not the least, the ebullient, aggressive, terrible boy scout, and my greatest spar partner in recent times: MARTIAN! - For his sheer doggedness and refusal to respect what he considers Bulls*hit, no matter how elegantly written, and I do try!
PS: I would certainly have put purist at the top of my list, but I am not certain of what he is: he hates labels. Profound, and clear, is what I would call him.
I am going to church now, dont ask me why again, I am looking for something (won't tell you what) - so when am done, I will post some of my favorite posts made by these atheists which I consider brilliant or profound.
I will also, in quoting their great posts, seek to show them that inspite of our different views, I truly appreciate some of the great things that they say. . @op you forgot to add the port Harcourt academician Mr. Cooooooooks |

KoshCAD: Hmmm, brother, Though I am 32, a graduate of mechanical engineering. If I had allowed myself to be depressed due to my situation,I would have died. My parents are not rich and they are no more again.
Yes, I have brothers, one of them was ok, I told him to help me travel out, he doesn't answer. And I said this for the sake of the family.
I left my state for Lagos to stay with a brother that has wife n kid.
I trekked so hard in Lagos that I almost moved all around Lagos looking for job. Even so recruitment company still collected money from me and yet, nothing.
Even if I want to learn something, I will have to pay but where is the money.
I sold my land at home to do a maritime course at ikoyi when one of my brothers' friends linked me to a captain. I called tired after wasting that money on the course yet, I have not gotten any reply from captain that promised to help and asked me to go ahead with the course. Since last year August that I finished the course, I have not heard from him. Even when I call, he won't pick, so I gave up that that is not my job. I want to start as oiler on the ship.
I worked at a generator company for almost 2years just for peanut of 20k per month when I will still enter transport and feed. I currently live with friends after leaving that bro house when he moved to another place.
Presently, a bros I knew way back at home was the one that helped me get a casual work at a company. Imagine a graduate, 32years, I have not been able to rent apartment of my own, I couldn't go home,no girlfriend.
I lost two girls just cos I haven't gotten on my feet.
One even said I am not the kind of guy she wants to roll with. But I didn't die hearing that. I just let it pass.
I love the girl despite being a baby mama. And this is a girl we dated before I went for service, thinking things will be good and u will marry her. She's yet to marry now and she's 29.
Brother, let believe, things will surely work out well.
I love as you spoke out. You will see that help will come. We are in the same shoe. Even if you have to work and walk in the dark alone, don't give up, there is light at the end of the tunnel. |

soundOsonic: You forgot this important part you will do job beyond the job description In one man business, just be praying so they won't sack one person. If one person gets sack, others will have to do the work of the sacked individual. He might not be replaced, increasing the workload of other innocent folks. you might be promoted but you are less likely to get a raise This one everybody salary is stagnant, and yes your supervisor salary might be slightly higher than yours. you will be threatened everyday with getting sacked Like the OP said, the emotional abuse will be too much, and the pent up negative frustration needs to be released somewhere, it is more Likely that individual brings the negative emotions to his/her home. OP no one I repeat no one can withstand emotional abuse, it needs to be channeled out. working harder than the rest won't grant you favor Never give 100% of your energy working one man business, people will get used to your performance, the day you will slack will be the day they will complain about you, while the other lazy staff won't get any complain because they are used to their working lifestyle. so true |
