None of these ever happened in reality though... Leonidas never gave her command in the movie or reality (according to history).

Don't twisted facts and mistake facts for fiction.

300 was a mixture of real ancient characters and fictional ones.

For starters, there was a queen who allied with Xerses to attack Greece and her name was Artemisia which was rightly portrayed in the movie. So that part of the movie is based on facts... A woman actually commandeered her forces into battle against Greece.

Secondly, the elite force of Sparta was wiped out defending the pass, Leoindas wife was the Queen, who else was supposed to lead them into battle in a united alliance front led by Themistocles against Persia.. Ancient Greeks are Liberal.


Thirdly, Rise of an empire was majorly about Themistocles, Spartan army only came in as reinforcement.

Artemisia wasn't a queen in the movie and even if a queen commanded a fleet in reality don't you think Hollywood will probably escalate it for fempowerment?

A queen leading a Spartan army was the biggest joke in that movie and if it happened in reality, shame on Sparta.

We all know what Leonidas went through before he became king, almost (if not) all those Spartan warriors went through the Agoge... Watching a woman lead them was the saddest part of that movie.
