Please advice me on this,I am using Klm(airfrance), was told its better to send someone Here in Nigeria to buy when the baby comes To buy a return ticket.

Please did anyone use a wheelchair to ease the traveL?

quote author=shelly23 post=33837382]They won't even let you buy one way since your baby doesn't have a Nigerian passport, only a Nigerian tourist visa. Buy the return and get a refund for the return leg when you get home. That's what Delta advised me to do.

FOR MOST AIRLINES ITS 36 WEEKS, ITS ARIK That is 32 weeks, just have a fit to fly letter in-case you are asked, i know Lufthansa even have a fit to fly medical form on their website for pregs to fill. I am traveling late too so i can maximize my 3months leave days. Congrats and all the best. Good news, my mum got the visa and i had to pay another Visa interview fee for my husband but today miraculously after waiting and tracking the application website for an entire week i got an interview date for him for June 2, its a testimony because we had given up hope and almost paid an agent 30k to get a closer date and bam....i checked one last time and saw June 2 which is perfect to meet due date...

Truly I beleive this whole process is just favor and doing the right thing, DO NOT LIE SHIKENAN!

TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!!! GREAT THINGS HE HAS DONE AND IS STILL DOING.

I arrived houston Safe Yesterday with the Almighty IAH Houston as my POE. But God Favored was upon me.
I will be back with my Journey and POE experience. But here is what I have to say to people running away from Houston as POE, FEAR NOT and make that move, Pray and God will favour you like he did for me. I spent 5 mins with CBP officer at POE and 5 mins with agriculture. No Question about doctor or hospital was asked talk more of Document asked for, NO Secondary Inspection, My bag wasn't open at all, I was stamped in for 6 months. Surprised right!!!!! Yes am talking about houston IAH POE. So my houston mama trust God but also get prepared cos I was but God favor was upon me. I WILL BE BACK.

Hi Peeeps, all the Houston POE mamas that were successful should please respond so we know that it is also possible for successful POE directly to Houston. I believe POE just like VISA interview is Prayer and then have proper documentation, favor to us all. angry grin angry grin

Hello Happymum, u can try Extended Stay east oak, Ocotillo apartments or Monterra. They r very close to d hospital and affordable. But for Ocotillo u av to rent some things eg TV et all. Monterra to d best of my knowledge is not furnished too but Extended stay eaast oak has got everything just like crossland.m crossland is a bit far from d hospital (I stayed in crossland) it's about 1hr from d hospital by bus but 15mins by cab but trust us naija women (we were up to 15 in Crossland at that time) we were usin bus for appointments but used cab mostly after delivery. Some still used bus after delivery too.

For things to carry pls do not carry yam. Like Tvegas said palm oil is prohibited as well. U can get big bottle of palm oil for $14. Anything containing chicken is prohibited eg chicken indomie, chicken Maggi etc though some pple her went in with them freely but For me I wud rather play by d rules to avoid any story. Cheers

my dear, sad to say, the next available interview date for Abuja is 7th July on their website but most agents can get a closer date for a lot of money like 80k or so.... just check the website to be sure you can reapply immediately...

Tvegas:

You can reapply immediately they are more interested in changes in your condition/application. That's why they always expect you to take a 3 month break but that is not cast in stone if you can repackage yourself. Try abuja they seem to be more relaxed than their Lagos counterpart.

wow, this story is very surprising and sad because i did my interview in Abuja and it was quite similar to yours, i used WHMC, Paid half of hospital and half of doctors fees, showed the receipts and the rest were just routine questions. i am just so surprised at the rejection. i really think you should try Abuja. It seems they also read your body language as well, just pray very well and try again. Mine was favor all the way truly from the gate. i was not at the embassy for more than an hour.

Idileke1:
Good Morning everyone in the house. have been a silent reader on this trend. am not happy as am typing this. I was at the embassy here in lagos this morning for 7.00am with my husband and son , thou we were denied but i feel i shd share how it went and hear people's view.

VO: GOOD MORNING
MYSELF & HUBBY: GOOD MORNING.
VO: WHERE IN THE STATES ARE U GOING TO?
HUBBY: HOUSTON
VO: WHAT FOR ?
HUBBY: VACATION & CHILD BIRTH.
VO: WHICH DOCTOR ARE U USING AND HOW DID WE COME ABOUT THE PLACE.
MYSELF: DOCTOR MICHEAL AMARO AND WEST HOUSTON MEDICAL CENTRE; INTRODUCED TO US THROUGH MY SIS IN LAW IN THE STATE AND A FRIEND THAT DELIVER HER BABY THERE.
VO: ANY THING FROM THE HOSPITAL AND DOCTOR?
MYSELF: GAVE HER THE LETTER FROM DOCTOR MICHEAL AMARO AND RECEIPT SHOWING THE TOTAL BILL AS 2,800 WHICH HAVE FINISHED PAYING SHOWING ZERO BALANCE AND WEST HOUSTON MEDICAL CENTRE RECEIPTS SHOWING THAT I MADE PAYMENT OF 3,000 HOSPITAL STAY FOR 2DAYS .
VO: ALL SHE SAID AFTER ALL WAS THAT THE HOSPITAL IS TOO CHEAP COMPARE TO WHAT IS BEING PAID FOR DELIVERY IN THE UNITED STATE.
MYSELF & HUBBY: WE TOLD HER WE HAVE ENOUGH MONEY IN OUR ACCOUNT TO PAY IF ANY OTHER PAYMENT COMES UP OVER THERE EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE FINISHED PAYING ALL OUR BILLS. SHE DIDNT LOOK UP, SHE JUST CONTINUE TYPING AND GAVE US OUR PASSPORT BACK AND SAID WE SHOULD GO TROUGH A LONG PAPER SHE GAVE US . SHE DIDNT BOTHER CHECKING OUR STATEMENT OF ACCOUNT AS MY HUSBAND HAS OVER 7MILLION IN HIS ACCOUNT WHILE I HAVE LIKE 2.9MILLION IN MY ACCOUNT. REALLY CONFUSED FOR NOW DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO.

Thank you dear. I am expecting feedback by Monday. I sent them a mail explaining,I dint attach any document though because there was a section to attach a document.

I am trusting for the best. thanks for responding.

Please does anyone have info on Abuja -housto. Promo on flights?

oljacobs:
You can actually get an earlier interview date at the discretion of the embassy. Just use the feedback/contact from the appointment booking portal to humbly request an earlier/ specific date stating your genuine reasons and I am sure they will oblige. I have done that before and it worked. We were travelling as a group and got different dates. We got them to bring appointment s forward. All the best.

We booked the date like that....can it be changed? As pa brought closer? Still waiting for your response on accommodation dear.

zeezahbee:
There's no way u can plead with the VO to allow him to do the interview because he won't be allow to even enter the embassy at all. They will ask for his appointment confirmation before he even set his eyes on th VO. Keep looking out for a closer date.

VISA INTERVIEW WAS GREAT!!!! LASTED LIKE 10 MINS

I walked in and the VO asked me my reason of travel, i told her plainly i want to have my baby in the USA.

VO: What city are you going to?

ME: Houston

VO: Do you have any doctors letter>?

ME: Yes and i show her and include receipts of part payment for both hospital and doctors fees.

VO: Where do you work? can i see your statement of account?

ME: I hand them over and offer to show her my letter of consent and pay slips

VO: I don't need to see any other documents. pick up your passport on ...make sure you collect a zero balance letter from your hospital for renewal of your visa.

end of interview.

Dear All,

I have narrowed down my choice to 1, West Houston Medical and I am using Dr. Magdy Rizk, MD,he is slightly more expensive than EL PASO folk but when i calculated the entire expense and factored in proximity for shuttle, accommodation, flight accessibility et al it seemed better. I am also applying for a B2 visa medical/tourism. i am just applying for my visa so pls ANY LAST MINUTE ADVICE before i hit send? I am due in June, to travel in May.

For Hackensack the quote I got from my doctor is 2k for normal delivery while hospital is 3,800k. Giving a total of 5,800k. This is exclusive of the fees from other professionals. I ran all their tests with a total bill of 650 but I paid 220, discounted bill. You are right. It's about the cheapest in NJ.
Travel / Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by SAkale: 1:44pm On Jan 20, 2015
yes o, they sent me a quote and i still haven't decided but it looks genuine, based on all i have read on this trend, if you can show proof of funding for your hospital bills and answer questions for the visa interview confidently with evidence of a doctor receiving you there, it should be fine. though i was advised to get another letter from another doctor to back the EL paso quote. Did they give you a letter of mdeical responsibility? how did she get it mbok?

Newmum0615:
@SAkale: Any luck with your enquiries on Elpaso? A friend is considering using them but she doesn't know if she can rely on their letter of med responsibility.

Dear US Birth Team

I have been reading this trend and will like clarification on some issues i noticed.....

Is it that it has been proved that EL Paso through doctoresparati.com is not a good choice or, PeaceNigeria and other new moms are just having a little misunderstanding that has led to confusing me a bit on making a choice. Kindly clarify the best option for Birth in USA. I will really appreciate this ASAP. angry undecided

Please i need info on this, i want a letter too. Thanks

Good day ElPaso NLers,

I just got an email from Doctores Parati that if I need a personalized letter of medical responsibility from a doctor in Del Sol Med Center (as I requested), then I have to pay a $100 non-refundable fee. In light of the recent concerns on Doctores Parati letters at the embassy, I want to ask if anyone has paid for this personalized letter and still experienced issues. Thanks.

@justwise....ejo o. Shey I am not spamming this time. I need info biko.
