The GLO LTE band is one of the least used LTE bands in the world. So, it makes no sense for manufacturers to include it on their devices. Only some high-end and very few mid-range devices support that LTE band 28(700MHz) used by GLO

its kind of confusing, is it that their lte band is an outdated one? if yes thats too bad.
let me just try other networks and see if they are similar, if it turns out to be same then its got to be my phone fault.

I was really happy when Glo, Mtn, and Etisalat announced that they have 4g lte services and even made a list of supported devices. As i use all the ntwk i decided to use the Glo since the the price for their Data is very low compared to others, plus they have the 4G lte service in kaduna and Zaria where i was going. I went to their office to upgrade my sim to a 4G one and was told to insert the nxt day. Nxt day i inserted the sim, went to settings switched on the data, changed the connection from 3G TO LTE, only for me to see the 3g sign for hours then i went close to their office area thinking it will change but still.


so my question is. is it that iphone doesn't support 4g service or is their difference btw 4G and LTE

I also reside in ajegunle, olodi apapa to be precise (sadiku street if u know it). let me tell you that ntel dont have network in that area only towards boundary market side (mobile road) before or after coke factory. you cant compare the speed of ntel with mtn at all....i have gotten airtel and glo at 10mb/s at night. ntel has a speed of upto 20mb/s as my friend told me.

The talk about endorsing made in Nigeria products is now shifting in to the tech arena, moving away from the consumable products, we now have a tech company fighting its way to top of smart phone line. Enter Kosmos Mobile, a venture of Kosmos Innovation International a Nigerian company Owned by A young Nigerian entrepreneur, His name is Chris Ombeh. Aside from being a smart phone producing company KII also builds mobile apps and other related software. it takes a bold step for one to enter the production line, as the fierce competition is ever increasing. But for Chris he said

“I have always been fascinated by mobile phone technology”, Chris he says,”for me, this is an opportunity to play an active part in its
evolution”.

The journey:

After he made his decision to enter the business, chris gathered all the material he could find on mobile phone design. took a trip to China, hooked up with the manufacturers who would eventually produce his designs.

As of this writing the phones only have two Prototypes.

In all fairness as techpoint noted , the Kosmos Mobile (unnamed model 2) is a pretty decent phone all round, that you easily forget it’s still in the prototype phase. Despite some UX and design flaws, it holds a lot of promise.

Mean while a planned public release is stated in 2017, enought time to make all the necessary tweaks. All that’s left now is the funding to make mass production a reality. Up to this stage, Kosmos Mobile has been fully bootstrapped. With Kosmos Mobile on the lookout for investors. So far, they’ve managed to garner interest from a Nigerian investor who might be willing to invest seed funding into the parent company, i.e Kosmos Innovation International

The plan is to launch 3 models in 2017 — this one I reviewed, which will cater to the high end at 70k and 2 other models priced 26k and 45k.

“I have always had ideas which I would love to share with the world”, Chris says, “and the only way to do that is having the freedom which entrepreneurship brings.”

With such huge ambitions for Kosmos Mobile, one can only patiently wait to observe how they deliver in 2017.

Yes its no news now, the Iphone 7, 7 plus and watch 2 were released yesterday to the public. I personally thought it was awesome, but what people are still talking about is the earphone jack that was eliminated by apple. Not to worry as if you followed the launch and various rumours that have floated the tech scene for a while, Apple included the earphone with lightning jack, yup..the same place you charge, you plug your earpiece too.

The usual 3.5mm has been around in its current form for 60 years. If users want to go wireless, it forces them to re-buy headphones, stereo systems, etc. The alternative is to use the adaptor, but that creates new headaches, because then the user can’t listen to music and charge their device at the same time.
