hello carlanders? i called a mechanic to drive me from ibadan to akure to and fro today only for him to tell me my cvt has failed because it's not changing gears. I told him the cvt was designed not to feel the gearshifts nor change gear but this man said he has worked on muranos and altimas that have cvts in them and they shift only that i haven't noticed. Should i start saving up for a new gear or what? Help me

I use a Toyota corolla 2001/ 2002 model. The normal fuel consumption is 35MPG on highway, and 30MPG within city. Unfortunately, mine consumes 2.5 gallons(10litres) to cover 32 miles. The car works normal, catalyst is ok, airflow meter works, no leaks on exhaust. Pls help make meaningful suggestions.Thanks

The corolla is 26mpg city and 35mpg highway. For lagos standstill traffic and with AC u should still b able to do 20mpg city Moreover, do you use the required 5w30 graded oil?. Scan the car bruv!

Nigerian used highlander. The highlander has an i4 variant that gives you respectable acceleration demands and a good fuel economy

U being a graduate esp a physics graduate, u can fit into any sector. But i will see IT, GIS(Which entails Remote sensing,Photogrammetry and DBMS), Geophysicists for Oil/Telecoms and Surveying and Geoinfomatics for Mapping are your best bet because they work on the basic prinicples of physics.

Hello everyone, I'm considering buying the 2013 Nissan Altima 2.5 SL v6 from Cotonou. Is this a good investment? My other option is the 2012 Honda Accord, the price range is almost the same. Looking forward to your candid responses.

Altima2.5 is an i4 engine not v6. 2013 Altima outclasses the accord 2013 in performance and styling with more mpg self not to talk of a 2012 accord. You might have a problem with the spares and technical know-how compared to the accord. The Cvt might be another setback. I'm using the altima 2008 presently and its a good car, would upgrade to a 2014 model or Ford.

Buy only if you can get specilized hands on it, but i would prefare you to buy a common brand models we see on the road. You can just pick a less everyday car colour like Skyblue,lemon green & burnt orange, maroon brown just to standout

This car i used and enjoyed for 6months after purchase,it is very very fuel efficient with high ground clearance before different set of wahala's came creeping in. Moreso i source for parts from lagos .I parked it in my compound for a whole year because it didnt start . I never really surfed the nairaland cartalk back then for advices. This car show me ooo no be small, quack mechanics were doing trial & error on it. I have always noticed smoking exhaust on this particular brand. I have used nissan micra,sunny,pathfinder. I decided to change to mitsubushi and it was a terrific experience. The car still does my shuttle from ib to lag,akure,abuja and ilorin without stress. But i still prefare my altima 2008(though i hear say na problematic car too) anytime to it

The accord because of more horsepower and size. The cvt's has reliability issues according to what i read online. I use a cvt too but its not bad the way people project it. Mind you The cvt cannot be rebuilt like the traditional auto.

To me it doesnt make any sense to spill but if you know getting a gpa of >4.5 is possible then you can go ahead . The worst thing is that if you now spill and your final cgpa is 3.49 nkor? Na that one go pain you pass. The situation here is dicey, if i were to be in your shoes i will prefare to graduate with a 2-2 than spilling. Graduate with 2-2 and dont put all your eggs in a basket.

sorry abt that.. Abeg deh go jejely. Na person weh reach hin destination them deh ask how e journey be. Avoid potholes baba mi. The ife- ondo road has compound and reverse curves.

I can't speak for all Japanese four pistons, but as for any Toyota i4 after 2006 , I concur 100%. In fact driving at 160km/hr in a 2007 camry feels normal. You don't hear the engine labouring or experience any temperature spikes and it rides smooth at that speed. At 180km/hr however, you could start to feel like not going beyond that point

What will u now say about the altima 2.5?? It will do more than what has being analysed about the camry

In relation to what @nurey posted, i have a nissan altima 2008 2.5s model (met with negative reviews for the altima's poor reliability) which i have been using since early June 2015 and i have placed 7200 miles on it within Ibadan. I want to travel with it to Abuja but I'm scared it will not get there. What are to be checked in the car before embarking on this journey? Your negative and positive critics will be greatly appreciated

Pick the kia soul jejely. It's in 1.6l or 2.0l kappa engine so it will be fuel efficient just as ur corolla 99. Bring am come ibadan make we use water and omo wash am 😀 in celebration

lol sam!!that could be used as a rough estimate but thats not how the area is calculated. The standard plot is 120×60ft but mostly in Nigeria it is 100×50ft. The area after the adjustment computation to eliminate discrepancies shouldnt be less than 666sqm to conform,but have seen plots with 560sqm before sha.
