I have no news concerning past applications. I went there on Monday 10th to submit application for a business visa and I was informed by the attendant in the VIP Lounge of the suspension and also the notice was pasted at the entrance. I believe it has to do with the Customs clearance issue in Turkey. ayosunkanmi: Any news concerning us that we submitted since December.. ? No call yet,No interview, and school have resumed on 2nd of Feb..do we still have any Hope? |

I applied for work visa for a friend on Jan 8 2020 and he got a mail on Jan 20 for appointment date in March 27. When I applied I saw expected appointment date to be Jan 2021. Shocking or has the embassy changed the style of 1 year wait? emmanero: Please is there anyone that applied earlier than August that have not gotten an appointment for work visa? |

Hi, I'd like to know more about the TRP as I am moving to Vilnius in January for work purpose. My employer has asked I come to register for the TRP before I can start work in February. How can I secure an apartment (shared or single room) for a period of 2-3 months before I can look for another for long term. Bolamike: There are jobs in Lithuania. Most aren't just meant for foreigners. If you are very very skilled in IT and you reside in Vilnius, you are most likely to get a job if you have your TRP handy. Same goes for Kaunas, but the companies in Kaunas do some stereotyping thereby not taking in foreigners (especially third world nationals) as employees. The kinda jobs you can get here if you have the skills is at the international companies like Hostinger, Kayak, Revel Systems, Hella and so on. Most of these companies are based in Vilnius hence why the city has more opportunities than the other counties. If you don't possess any skill, then your options are limited. Probably get a casual work at the minor places like Express Market, LIDL or any other place that you might fit in.
And as for the TRP, it depends on how early you apply for it. It's always ready in between 2-3 months. For example, if you apply for your TRP in October, it is most likely to be ready in the coming January.
P.S: Make sure you come into the country with enough money to sustain yourself for like 7 months. There are no job guarantees as well, you just have to keep searching and applying. |

Great news bro! Good luck as you embark on this journey. gistme24: Hello Guys,
Decided to share this so as to encourage others.
Had my Visa interview on December 17th, 2018. Questions asked were the same as posted earlier by others.
5 weeks later, I received the mail requesting that I provide insurance details and confirmed travel date. My employer had already informed me in week 3 that approval had been granted by the foreign office .
Visa was delivered earlier this week, week 7.
Special thanks to Sam, who took time to help out in the early days. I went with so many copies that Mr. Paulinus was confused, I was confused too at some point
My profile, I am currently an SAP ABAP developer with over 5 years experience. Preceding that, i have 5 years experience in other fields like Java and Oracle ERP.
Leaving in some weeks. Wish me luck guys. |

True, I've discovered if you check mid-night you'd get longer days while during the day you'd get closer dates (just noticed it with your feedback and a few other people). Opinionator: Okay. Please keep checking. When my mum booked 2 weeks ago, only 2 days were available in Feb (13th & 14th). And not a single date in March. Where did the days after that vanish to then? Only them know. And I saw Feb 12th, 13th but no 14th yesterday. Seems there's no clear-cut pattern. |

I'd have to go to Abuja as I am in Lagos. I will use the next 2 days to explore every possible outcome to get a date in the German embassy before I try that. Thanks man, I appreciate! Opinionator: Since it's really urgent, I suggest you go through Poland. You can go from Lagos to Warsaw then take a bus or train (6hrs on average) to Berlin. Or go to Zielona Gora (city in Poland) from Lagos and take a bus or train (2+hrs) to Berlin. |

It's quite painful with the booking system and not knowing what times of the day to check. I have been checking for a week now but all I see is April not even March. If I can get someone to help me book a date in February I won't mind paying for the service. Its quite urgent and I don't want to use another Schengen country visa as my main destination is Berlin. ifyalways: I really doubt this.
We have been checking from 2 different countries and timezones, the only date we've ever seen was in April.
They replied our email to say we should keep checking. They are better off locking and shutting down the whole portal or keep it fully open, so you pick whatever date that is available as opposed to asking one to keep checking and checking with no timeframe.
The couple are now thinking of paying an agent to get them a date since they want to use Germany at all cost because its less stressful for them( they wont need interview or biometrics) |

Please, what time of the day did you check and found a date in February? I'm seriously looking for a February date, I checked mid-night yesterday and only found for April. Can you please assist me? Opinionator: The link for booking interview for tourist (Schengen) visa is different from that of student visa. I replied your previous post with the right link. There are available dates in February |

Travel › Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by Sam8850(op): 1:43am On Jan 18, 2019 |
No, my employers were the ones who filed my documents at the Alien Office for the pre-approval request and that was sent to Lagos Consulate. jacob05: Did you present an approval letter from Employment Agency? |
Travel › Re: General German Work And Family Re-union Visa Enquiries by Sam8850(op): 1:34am On Jan 18, 2019 |
The embassy gives a 90days duration for processing, I've only been waiting for 60days. So to be fair it's still within their speculated time but my eager mine is shouting and asking why it's taking this long considering I got a pre-approval a month before my interview date. The best time of the day to check is midnight, at exactly 12:00 am you should enter the captcha code and click next, you'd see an appointment date however you will only get for March or even April right now. You may also take time during the day to check at exactly every hour as I've seen appointment by 3:00 pm before and you are most likely to see a closer date during the day. therealclown: Thanks man. What is the average wait time for the visa ? 2 weeks or 6 weeks ?
> mainly because I didn't know what time to check for appointment
What time do you recommend? I just check it like once an hour ( maybe every 2 hours). |

Mehn Bro you have to really calm down and if you have a job here in Naija hold on to it until the day you get your visa you can just resign. I am in your situation or should better say was in your situation, I needed to leave in a month but it took me 2 months before I got an appointment (mainly because I didn't know what time to check for appointment) then eventually went for my interview in November and till now I'm yet to get my visa. Once you go for your interview just pray and hope to be lucky as you may get your visa within 2 weeks or longer, so let your employers know it may take longer time. therealclown: Man, I have a job already in Berlin. Resumption date is supposed to be on the 15th. Still no visa appointment.
This is crazy. I have the Federal Government agency thing and my signed work contract. Everything, Just an appointment.
It's crazy they say even slots in March are filled.
Stupid and dumb question, but Is there some kind of way to hasten the visa appointment process? I really have to leave the country before the end of the month or 2nd week of February latest. ( Booking a late flight is not an issue ). |

Well the only way you can apply for the family reunion visa from another country is if you have a resident permit in that country. Since you're in Cyprus for Study it means you do not have a resident permit in Cyprus (Correct me if I'm wrong here) nor in Hungary where you had your wedding ceremony, hence its sad to say but you'd have to return back to Naija to start the process and complete the verification. Your spouse at the moment can only support with filling your aplication in Germany and submitting the required documents in the home office. That being said, resident permit is the key word here and I dunno how long it takes and the requirements to get that in Cyprus or Hungary, hence, Naija is your only fast and simple way to join your spouse in Germany. Justlanded: Hi all, I'm just reading all comments regarding family reunion, and I'm a bit confused as to how to go about mine. Pls I'll appreciate anyone's response. I currently live and study in cyprus, and i just got married in Hungary to a hungarian citizen, but he lives and work in Germany. The home office in germany said that i have to go to my home country to apply for a resident permit. Do I have to come back to Nigeria to apply for family reunion visa since he is an European? The Hungarian Immigration said I can only get resident permit if my husband and I live in hungary. Pls advice.. thanks. |

To get an appointment you have to log on the site at exactly 12midnight i.e from 11:59pm you should be at the Captcha page once it hits 12am click Continue, I promise you'd see appointment. This I've only seen work during weekdays (i.e Sunday night through Monday to Thursday night through Friday. It hasn't worked during weekends before since I've ever tried). I also discovered you'd only get 7am appointment when you book at that time. There are other times of the day like 3pm but I've only seen appointment once at that time of the day. If anyone else knows any other time of the day one can surely get appointment please share with us, it will be very valuable. NRIAGUDUBEM: I have been checking the website for an appointment since late December, but I havent seen any. Is this how tough it is to get an appointment? Who knows how I can easily get a work permit appointment at the Lagos embassy? |

I think you are missing the point and calling out fellow member(s) isn't allowed here. I have reached out to different people on this thread/site privately as well as openly for different questions. If you do not understand the concept of privacy then why does this forum has a pm option? You don't expect someone to come out here cause its an open forum to download their entire itenery just because its an open forum, where is the security there? The thread is open to questions, answers and information needed to help members with work and family re-union visas. Which people have been posting there questions and members sharing answers as well. Please if you have a question just go ahead and ask it and not call out member(s). Thanks. justwise: Yes there is when you open a thread and decided to share contact details rather than having an open discussion. If you can't share this info here for all to learn then what is the point of this thread? |

Wow... I can already imagine the time and stress you went through moreso I'm also thinking of how my wife will go through that as well. Thanks a lot for sharing your experience and answering my questions. Triumphantglory: @Sam8850 The verification officer visited my parents and a witness from my spouse. He visited all the institution that issued any form of documentation including all the hospitals where I and my children were born. For me my life was basically across two states in Nigeria and in the UK. I am guessing they also verified the UK bit.
I didn't do any document verification. But then again my husband had done most of that prior to starting a job.
Sorry again I had to ask him again. He doesn't have a blue card as he was employed directly by the government. He works in a research institution. However, I still didn't need to present language certification as i had degrees outside Nigeria |

Great news and we wish you good luck. I have a number of questions I'd like to ask regarding the application process. 1. Did the Verification Officer visit the entire family members you listed on the forms? 2. Did you do any document verification? 3. Since your spouse has a blue card you are not required to show proof of language, was this asked for? Thanks. Triumphantglory: I am applying for family reunion visa. Had my interview in October and I guess verification is complete even though I didn't get an email on that. My spouse has a blue card and has been invited to the foreign office for an interview next week. God's willing we'll get a favourable response this month. |
