Afam4eva:
The truth is that, even though it's hard to predict shows such as this, your article captured it to a large extent. When Efe won last year, some people thought they could come this year with the same "poverty" rhetoric and win viewers to their side. Biito was the first person to try it and his fellow housemates shut him up while the viewers sent him packing in subsequent weeks. Why did it work for Efe and not Biito? I think it has more to do with the personality than the sob story. Yes, the sob story helped, but even if Ceec's middle name was poverty, she couldn't have won. Nigerians and humans in general can see through people.

Ceec, despite her evident lack of social decorum, still got this far. This will spur people next year to want to act the same script without realizing that it's not just about the fact that Ceec was quarrelsome but the fact that she was an enigma. People were amiss as to why someone can act like this. She wasn't the regular trouble maker. She was a different brand and it endeared her to a lot of people.

I also agree with the Rico stuff. Even though he had the least confrontations in the house and was rarely nominated, he wasn't the viewer's favourite either because there was nothing tangible to actually tie him to. That's why despite the fact he stayed long enough, he has less instagram followers than some people who left before him. He was too ordinary and not enigmatic. His doom came when the housemates reduced and his true character began to show. People now saw him for who he truly was. He wasn't necessarily a bad person but someone who runs away from conflicts even when it is necessary. I think americans call people like that "b1tch".

Tobi would have been a strong contender for the prize but his game was spoiled the moment he agreed to make Ceec his strategic partner. People began to see him as weak and he made matters worse due to his gossiping prowess. Even though Ceec did more evil than him, he had less fans than her. Such is life.

Miracle on the other hand was a perfect gentleman. He was enigmatic just like Ceec except that it was mostly positive vibes from him. He was never involved in any verbal insults with anybody even though he was one of the most disliked in the house. he only speaks when it's absolutely necessary. The first time he really spoke up was when they were doing the pepsi dance competition and because he felt he was right, he kept harping on the fact that it's a competition and noo ne should be breastfed. He also took competitions very seriously (unlike Alex) and he succeeded in winning the most payporte games. Who else deserves to win if not him?

If anyone intend to apply for Big Brother Naija next year, just be yourself, don't try to be what you're not because Nigerians will see through you. We may be many things, but not easily deceived. If your behavior is likable, people will suport, if it's not, they will send you packing.

Somehow, i managed to read this entire epistle. WTF!

Lagos is Overrated. BRT is everything short of efficiency. You are lucky you didn't spend up to three hours. The Danfos might look tattered and damaged but they are far more efficient than overrated BRT.

The infrastructure deficit is plaguing lagos. These cannot the addressed with half measures that the government provides all over the place.

persius555:
It is estimated that lightning strikes 100 million times each day, each generating at least 1 billion Volts of electricity. That is enough to power 100 watts of bulb for three months.
Enough to fry electronic equipments like high powered TV Antennas, Wireless Telecom Equipments, Plasma TV, CCtv DVR, Microwave oven etc.
Though, there are less 20 percent chances of a lightning having full impact each time a strike occurs. Despite this, it takes a poorly electrically grounded installation of a building and presence of highly conductive material attached to building to expose it to lightning attack.
Cases of lightning strikes that resulted to death or near death have been on the increase. Many reasons such as the use of poorly qualified electricians and increase in the use of more electronic device that require proper grounding can be adduced to this.

With the installation of a lightning arrestor, the building can be made lightning proof. Lightning arresters typically have a high voltage and grounding terminal. High current generated due to lightning surge are diverted through the arrestor into the earth instead of through the building in its absence.

Attached are pictures of recent lightning arrrestor installations in the FCT Abuja, which has a high altitude and is very much above average national sea level. A natural location for frequent lightning occurrence.

Contact Us for your Lightning Arrestor installation, anywhere in Nigeria. Whether your building is existing or under construction.

Both are debian based. Kali is common among security proffesionals while linux programmers and admins prefer ubuntu. All the kali tools can be installed on the ubuntu and many more. In fact, python scripts run more efficiently in ubuntu than kali

Everyone should calm down, but where is the tolerance? What have the yorubas Oba done to improve the life of their subjects? Yoruba Christians don't care about us Muslim. They are quick to condemn yourba Muslim. I'm a Muslim and I believe he's doing what's right. If you attended his lecture at NYSC Ede camp, you will know what kinda of person he's. He's a visionary, intelligent and creative person.

I once listened to him at a particular occasion he chaired. Initially, i bought into all his ideas and ideology until he started making statements taht clearly exposed who he really is. Though progressive in thinking, but too much in a haste to do away with a tradition that dates over ten centuries. In my little wisdom, i was able to understand that this monarch prioritized other system and beliefs than his but the same time claiming to hold on to his tradition.

Conclusion. It is clear he is having identity crisis.

Crime / Re: Religious Crisis Breaks Out At Kabala Junction In Kaduna, 3 Dead by samfibby(m): 5:15pm On May 08, 2017
Mcreloaded:
There was an outbreak of violence in Kabala west area of Kaduna metropolis on Monday, following the killing of a suspected house burglar.

Some angry residents reportedly killed the suspect on Sunday and abandoned his corpse. His relations and friends were said to have found the corpse on Monday morning.

This resulted in a clash that lasted for hours. Traders were forced to close their shops, while motorists plying the ever-busy Nnamdi Azikiwe bypass took other routes.

Many were said to have sustained injuries as a result of the objects that the aggrieved individuals were hurling at one another.

The government had to respond by deploying police and soldiers in the area.

Samuel Aruwan, spokesman of Nasir el-Rufai, governor of Kaduna, said, the situation was brought under control by the security operatives deployed there.

The state police command has declared a manhunt for the perpetrators of the unrest.

Aliyu Usman, spokesman of the command, disclosed this to reporters.

“We are working towards arresting the offenders,” he said.

Meanwhile, some residents who fled as a result of the violence have been unable to return home as security personnel have blocked the way leading to the community.

“Some of us cannot go back home since we managed to escape from the area in the morning because soldiers and police have blocked the roads leading to our houses,” a resident said.

“Those residents that left for work in the morning have to call back home to their families to remain indoors while those that have left the house are asked to look for a safer place within the city centre and stay.

“It is unfortunate that people are linking the fracas to religion, but I want to tell you that it has nothing to do with religion at all, a thief was lynched to death and his so-called friends decided to take the law into their hands.

“We are, however, happy that security people intervened immediately, and normalcy is being restored as I speak to you.”

This is what happens when people result to taking laws into their hands.

Anyone, irrespective of religious affiliation found to have been involved in this killing should be arrested and prosecuted according to the laws of the land.

That is how you deal with tribal and religious hatred not taking sides.

This possibly marks the beginning of the end for oil and hydrocarbons as sources of energy. Their more than a hundred and fifty years reign is slowly entering into twilight stage. As it once happened to coal now it's the turn of hydrocarbons. Nations are investing heavily in clean and renewable sources of energy - wind, solar, cold fusion, bio-energy etc - and expanding their economies to new dimensions. The visionary leaders of the UAE saw this coming and had a plan to take their nation off the oil grid by 2020 and they are succeeding.
We had our opportunity with oil. It was a curse rather than a blessing to us-greed, mismanagement, environmental degradation, ethnic hegemony, corruption and ineptitude followed in the wake of our adventure with oil. Now the bell is tolling. The idiots we call leaders are still in snooze mode.

And you think hydrogen itself is a viable source of energy? Wait till we all switch to hydrogen. Like somebody said above, technology will bring the world to extinction. The same hydrogen that is used for building atomic bombs.

Religion has been used as a tool to brainwash the north and keep them in perpetual poverty. The poor and impoverished are made to believe that only religion is needed to bring prosperity to their reach and not knowledge.

The biggest form of lie that was sold to the poor in the north is to give up their male and female children as "ALMAJIRI" in other to seek knowledge.

This approach wont work anywhere in Africa. Indigenes are too ancestorially attached to their lands in this part of the world. The earlier the fulanis embrace modern methods of cattle grazing, the better for their livelihood.

The Elites in the North and Nigeria as a whole should approach matters like this with sincerity.

Taraba state conquered

Plateau State almost taken - war suspended so they can re-strategies

Nasarawa State - on the verge of being taken over

Kaduna State - annihilation in progress - southern kaduna - soon it will be conquered

Kogi, Kwara and Edo - Soldier Herdsmen silently being deployed

the sad thing is - they always go for the best lands to rear their cattle. these states mentioned so far - their lands are the closest description of paradise.

my question is - after they destroy all the arable lands, do we all start feeding on beef alone?

what a messed up country.

We know the solution is for all states to encourage individuals to invest animal dairy production using the ranching method. Once the states achieve certain level of progress, all states should outlaw ubiquitous grazing of cattle. Whoever wants to graze cattle should be ready to ranch or abandon cattle rearing.

There is no political commitment to finding a solution to this menace because all the governors would rather play politics and risk the lives of their citizens.

Everyone I speak to seems to be buying this oil price shift craap as reason for high forex scarcity .
Oil price responsible for the degradation of the Naira is a fallacy and a hoax mixed together. Kenya doesn't export crude oil but its currency is way stable than ours. Destruction of economic fundamental that is supposed to drive our economy has been totally eroded out of ignorance and gross incompetence in the last two to three years.
Our economic problem is basic but we/govt of the day haa turn a blind eye to it and instead rely on flip flop economic policies. For a country that has its potentials immersed in the deep waters of globalization, those who have been saddled with responsibility of managing this economy have no clue to reversing our fortunes and would rather engage in blame game rather than get down to do the job.
It should baffle any Nigerian how we drove away massive FDI which is largely contributed by foreign investors only to approach the same investors via finacial monetary bodies for loans.
The truth is that our policy makers have no clue on how to end the continuous free fall of the nation's currency.
