I wish to appreciate the two posts above.

A lot of nairalanders read just without stopping to think first before making their comment. We seize very opportunity to run down our country.

Things may not be rosy here but opportunities abound and new ones are opening up everyday. I love Nigeria, no matter what we are passing through, we are not what others thing we are.

Well sai, bro.

drnoel: Was disappointed when I read all ur comments. U guys should know Nigeria carried last cos of our disinterest in keeping relevant use able data-

No..No no. I think nigeria carried last becos, they judged us by the amount of well reported, negative news they read on the internet without actually paying a visit. Nigeria in bad shape is good news to the global. Come to think of it, how many times does Nigeria make the headline in good light. There are lots of great things happening in the country that wont make the headline simply becos Nigeria's good news is not news to the world. They would rather read about boko haram, bad roads, corruption and all that.

Some idiots sit in their office and write bullshit about what country is best to be born or what not and here some Nigerians are already lamenting. I'm so disappointed in some folks on this forum. This is the reason why the country refuses to advance. A little bit of hope and positivity is what the country needs. Me, i am proud of where i am from, i can only contribute my quota and hope that things would change. And for those of you that curse and piss on nigeria Ph...uck u all.

Politics / Re: North Sustained Nigeria Economically Before Oil Was Discovered - Ango Abdullahi by samfibby(m): 9:25pm On Nov 19, 2012
It is issues like this that keep nigeria in the doldrum of non development. The north had the yam and the knife for majority of the country's existence and today they have nothing to show for it. If anyone thinks things are changing by mere change of power to the south, then we better wake up and face reality. In fact by the time the south rules for as long as the north did, with all the oil wealth and waste presently going on in the country, the country will end up far poorer than we were before the amalgamation. The Niger delta's resources and oil wealth is not benefiting the ordinary man from that region, poverty is on the rise, militancy and cultism is the order of the day, no meaning plan or evidence of development or the present or the future. Instead of lamenting or accusing the other side of denying it what got has given it or denied it of its entitlement is as the case may be, we should take a cue from the oil producing states in the middle east who are saving today for any eventuality that might arise in the absence of this petrol dollar curse. It's high time the youths of this country get their heads out of the oily cloud and see how they can make the country better with or without the OOOOO....IIII..LLLL!!!

Business / Re: Why Do Businesses Fail In Nigeria? by samfibby(m): 7:56pm On Nov 19, 2012
Many nigerian businesses fail becos the owners have no passion or vision for the business. They also lack professionalism in their dealings. Just interested in making profit.

Botswana - Best Country of Sub-Saharan Africa

Botswana is the most prosperous country of continental Sub-Saharan Africa with " Driving Sustainable Growth ". Botswana's economy is stable and well-managed with low rates of inflation. The country offers a stable workforce, good industrial relations and competitive labour costs. In addition, a good transport infrastructure and modern telecommunication system lend to the attractiveness of doing business in the country. Furthermore, the country enjoys a reputation as the least corrupt country in Africa with high transparency and a well-developed legal system. Minerals, especially diamonds, have been the mainstay of the country's economy since independence from the British in 1966. The country's high rate of economic growth is due largely to this mining sector, which accounts for 90% of national foreign exchange earnings, and at nearly 40%, provides the single largest source of GDP as well as government revenues. Despite continued challenges such small market size and landlocked location, Botswana, already one of Africa's wealthiest nations with a thriving economy based on diamond mining and tourism, remains one of the best investment opportunities in the developing world.

Dont forget to remind us that it is one the most HIV-Infected country in the world. Abeg, make dem test those deportee for HIV Infection

Foreign Affairs / Re: First Gaza Missiles Hit Israel - Is This The Prelude To WW3? by samfibby(m): 6:57am On Nov 16, 2012
This is not cold war, this is a war that started b4 the emergence of the present world leaders. The two sides are fighting a war that is as ancient as its existence. This war has been fought by great-great fore fathers grand from both sides. Even in peace, they are at war. The Arab world will not rest until the Zionist are eliminated, this has been the core of the war. One the other side, the Zionists are ever on their toes. They would spill the blood of anyone that supports its sworn enemies. As it is, i doubt if Israel can sustain a war with its arab neighbors for more than a year not with most of its allies having to battle with the global economic crisis. In all of this, the souls of the weak and helpless are often spilled in this mess. Instead of taking sides in this melee, we should encourage world mediators to intervene in this reckless disorder b4 souls are UN-necessarilly lost in its hundreds. The last thing the human race needs at this time is a mini war.

Politics / Re: Nigeria Scraps Canada Power Contract In Privatisation Setback by samfibby(m): 9:31am On Nov 15, 2012
Billyonaire: All the DISCOS we selected in an open bid, but Manitoba Canada's contract was signed under OBJ regime without due process, and no open bidding. If we must get it right, we have to be transparent, and we must do it right and not let vested interest of past administrations blind our sense of judgement. We need an open bid process to appoint the best firm to handle this job, if Manitoba wins in an open bidding then so be it.

I hope you would be happy when Abdusallami-Otedola-Babangida Power company wins the so called open bid.
