Correct one from a PDP Man
SamGift0817:
A member of the People Democratic Party, PDP, Segun Sowunmi, has said A member of the People Democratic Party, PDP, Segun Sowunmi, has advised the party to do everything and bring back the Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, into its fold.

Sowunmi gave the advice on Friday while playing host to Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’.

DAILY POST reports that Obi left the PDP in May 2022 for the Labour Party, reportedly complaining of massive bribing of delegates and vote buying during the party’s presidential primary.

Obi also cited the existence of a party clique collaborating against him.

However, three years down the line, Sowunmi urged the PDP to work to bring Obi back.

‘’One of the people who was a PDP member, a South eastern man who felt based on the balance of play that the South-East was excluded, Peter Obi, was allocated 6.2 million votes, you lose the election, you run to the Supreme Court you lose, at least you were adjudged to have lost.

“Any deep-thinking, fair-minded Nigerian man who is in the political party called the PDP ought to know that the greatest, necessary next step is to have the conversation about: ‘How do you bring Peter back’ now that the energy driving him is organic,’’ Sowunmi said.

The PDP is said to have been embroiled in crisis since the 2023 presidential election, in which its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, lost to President Bola Tinubu.

After the suspension and removal of Iyorchia Ayu, Ambassador Umar Damagum, who was originally the Deputy National Chairman (North), was appointed acting chairman.

Meanwhile, efforts by the North Central zone to replace him with a substantive chairman have created deep divisions within the party.

Similarly, the position of National Secretary has become the subject of a legal battle between Anyanwu and Ude-Okoye, pushing the agenda to replace Damagum.

Sowunmi said the internal wrangling and sudden spring in defections to the All Progressives Congress, APC, are self-inflicted and should have been sorted out a while back.

“There is a level of activity that you can blame your bullies for, but there is a certain level of recurring, continuous lack of creativity that you have you have to hold yourself responsible for.

“One of the things that people do is fall prey to the frail nature of President Bola Tinubu. I know him for his intellectual capacity. He will look frail, but his brain is that of a giant, so most times people underestimate him to their own peril.

‘’The painful thing is that my own side is choosing to pretend that it is an easy material to defeat in politics. What do they know that he doesn’t know,” he asked.

Trump has little or no policies that aligns with most EU countries including Germany. In fact he believes EU policies are geared towards taking advantage of the USA that is what he has always complained of, insisting the EU gets their money back in Ukraine war with Russia for instance while the USA gets nothing in return, that is why he initiated the minerals deal with Ukraine. He also slammed tarrifs on EU and put a 90 day pause on it while renegotiating with EU countries on trade. That Germany is EU biggest trading partner with USA does not mean USA is benefitting if it has a huge trade deficit with USA and that is a fact. You can be a country's biggest trading partner and still run at a loss if the country exports more goods to your country than they import, while having a higher tarrifs on imports to their country than your country, and that is exactly what trump is pointing out. The EU countries that has policies that somewhat aligns with trump's own policies are Italy and Hungary, not most. Get your facts right.

Secondly, it is not so much about their worth, but about how they relate with USA. Saudi, Qatar, Japan honestly has little or no problem with USA itself. The Arab nations have more problems with Israel than Usa and ironically, it is because of USA that some of them joined the Abraham Accords that recognizes Israel as a state and secures a peace deal with Israel. Saudi is even more liberal with Israel and has also been poised to join the Abraham Accords. Get your facts right.
China has worth, but that did not stop Trump from accusing them of starting covid19, starting a trade war with them in both his ist and 2nd term in office and fully supporting Taiwan military, in addition to U.S warships in the south china sea to promote freedom of navigation. So it is obviously not about worth, but about their relation with the USA and how it affects Americans.
For Russia, he has always respected Putin but even with Putin military in Syria then, it did not stop Trump from attacking a Syrian airbase that was accused of using chemical weapons. All sanctions placed on Russia are still in place, non removed and USA is preparing secondary sanctions against Putin due to the war. May I need to still remind you that USA Is still sending military equipment in large numbers to support Ukraine's war efforts? And how is that respecting Putin? He is communicating with Putin to see if he can end the war, but has not for once stopped supporting Ukraine. So where is the respect to Putin? Get your facts straight!

Putin's confidence is not in his 75 trillion worth of mineral resources alone. Many countries are also very rich, but rather it is in the mutually assured destruction that lies in possession of nuclear weapons if attacked, and Russia has the largest nuclear stockpile in the world. Russia obviously can never win USA in a conventional war.

He wants a trade deal with Canada that benefits the USA. Canada is one of U.S biggest trading partner, but USA still has a huge trade deficit with Canada. Mind you, Canada is one of the top powers in terms of military and economy one of the top 10, so Canada is no small country. Trump uses extreme tools like saying "he will take over Canada" to bring them to the negotiation table and get some positives to favour Americans, and that is what he has always done. There was never anything like USA taking over Canada in the books. You need to learn more about international relations.

For Trudeau, he never liked Trudeau as he didn't see him as a smart person and that is his personal opinion in his relations with him.

Of course it is wise for him to use his business acumen to secure gains for his people which is what he is doing, rather than allow nations rip you off. Trump is even more respected than Obama who was a Barrister, meaning he didn't even use his profession to secure gains for his country legally. Let's not even talk about Biden at all.

Lastly I honestly don't expect you to reply further because I can see you lack information about true facts on international relations/policies. With all due respect, you should spend more time with Google than making comments on intentional issues.

South African officials have strongly pushed back against Trump's accusation and Ramaphosa sought the meeting to set the record straight and salvage his country’s relationship with the United States. Most politicians defecting to the APC are doing so to safeguard their own interests. The fact that 21 governors could not deliver their states for their preferred candidates during the presidential election indicates that their defection is largely irrelevant to the voters' choices.

The 2023 Peoples Democratic Party Gubernatorial Candidate for Lagos, Dr Olajide Adediran, also known as Jandor, on Tuesday visited the state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, at the Lagos House, Ikeja.

Adediran met with the governor behind closed doors but spoke with journalists after the meeting.

He congratulated the governor on his re-election and commended him for the warm reception.

” I have gone to my local government to do that. We had that on Friday.

The next thing was to pay the number one citizen of the state an official visit to inform him that we have returned to the party.

” I am back to be with my family. We will continue to consolidate on our collective strength.

” We all knew what happened during the last election. It was because the house was divided. Now, we are together and we are back,” he said.

He described his reception by Sanwo-Olu as warm.

“The reception was fantastic. Mr Governor is actually a gentleman.

“I commend your composure throughout the campaign.

“In a season marked by intense political tension, your calmness stood out, and, in my view, it played a significant role in your winning,” he said.

The gubernatorial candidate said that the visit was not just a political courtesy, but a demonstration of maturity and the need to foster unity beyond party lines.

“Lagos deserves a political climate where leaders can engage constructively regardless of party affiliation.

“I believe this gesture reflects the kind of politics we should be practising, one that prioritises the development of our state above personal or partisan interests,” he said.
