musaibnabdul:You should be thankful to GEJ. Gideon Orka even proposed a smaller and much better map. I'm glad you called the old one a 'British map' - goes to show you really do get it. In case you didn't catch my drift, I'm saying there's no Nigerian map yet. The old one, according to you, was a british one while the new is GEJ's. Me thinks before this 'mess' is over, GEJ may end up giving us the true map, the real Nigerian map.

Oletty:Some of your assertions are debatable but I can attest that you made a great deal of sense. Sorry your home town, Gwoza, is catching hell. Its people like you who understand the enormity of damage done to the psyche of core northerners through daily indoctrination of intolerant ideologies and exclusive religious laws such as Sharia that should be the new face of the north. Nigeria is an orphan. Even within its own borders its still considered an orphan with no true kinship or genuine love. Therefore, it should be no shock to folks that when stuff goes wrong for any region there's usually no one willing to stand in the gap. This quandary is where we are now. I'm afraid the north is going to be alone in violence for a long time. Even today I still haven't found out why northern elders and opinion leaders supported Sharia implementation. What were they thinking? Every seed needs some time to germinate, Boko haram today is the fruit of that seed devilishly planted by people who wanted to play God. My wish is for the north to learn from this experience in the end. Creating a monster that only feeds on your enemy's children doesn't completely entail that the creator's children are safe. When that monster eats the last of the enemy's child, guess who its going for...This is what's happening to the north. For ages they terrorized us with their crazy and evil traps. Today, the south is more or less a different country far removed from northern troubles, but the north? Boiling in its own juice of hate. |
Ibnsultan:Would the resignation of GEJ stop the killing in the North that started in 1945? Would it stop one man- 4 wives-20-children-15-almajiri? Was GEJ the reason for ISIL, Al shabab, and Ansaru? Was he the reason for the behead of Akaluka in peace-time? Or the live roasting of Oluwatosin? Is GEJ the reason Islam endorses violence against all non-Muslims? Show me any multi religious nation that has up to 30% muslim population that lives in peace. Which nation? where? GEJ will come and go but can we say the same for far-north's endless religious butchery? I would want GEJ to resign or lose 2015 based on his failure to provide constant power for 4 years now. I honestly believe GEJ has no business with leadership but I can't be fooled by a group of people/terrorists who beat a drum in the bush only to run out in the open to ask for the drummer. If the resignation of GEJ will usher in people like Akpabio, Wole Soyinka, Fayemi, Chime etc then I'm for it. But if this call is to pave way for the people responsible for the current madness then may their madness never cease. The North, I mean the far north, is a victim of its own evil machinations. They're free to kill each other if they so desire. In my culture we neither stop nor touch a man on a suicidal mission. Even after death his body is considered evil and tainted. The only thing last rite we owe him is to have native doctors throw his corpse in an evil forest. So, you see, we're constrained to tell the far North to stop killing herself and her children. My condolences go to the innocent children who were cut down for no fault of theirs. May God grant them peace. |
smallJagaban:I'm going to respond to you out of kindness and it's going to be a one-time response. Read it carefully because you'll never get this opportunity again in your life-time. Go back to school please - like right now, I mean now. You need it bro. |
vincencior:Quite frankly, I've stopped caring about that. For all the nice and great stuff we say about our people, you and I know our people are one of the most stubborn species on this planet. They learn the hard-way and I'm completely sick of it. Even the deaf and blind knows Nigeria is descending into irretrievable chaos and madness - our people say Ukpana Okpoko gbulu nti kwuchiri ya. So bro, if they want to burn in the north so be it. However, before they do I urge them to first send their kids back home. |
vincencior:My prayer is for the 'right thing' to happen which is a complete cessation of avoidable bloodshed. However, I also know it would be foolishness to think blood'll stop flowing in a situation in which an insatiable and implacable lion is in a cage with defenseless sheep. The right thing is to put them in separate cages. |
Bublanski:Initially, you said if North falls then the rest of Nigeria is a piece of cake for BH. Now you're saying your from SW. I guess you were referring to SW as a walk-over for BH in your post. If you had narrowed down the 'walk-over' thing to only SW I probably wouldn't have read it much less contributed. Call it rage or whatever - my point is that the East will not go down with the north. Its plain and simple. All these junk stories on how Nigeria will be taken over by BH should the north falls are false alarms at best. What stops BH from taking over Chad, Cameroon, and Niger? These countries are relatively weaker militarily than Nigeria. The Answer is simple: BH is a northern affair and it will end as such. ISIS, with all its ferocity hasn't taken over any shia or Kurdish towns because there're no buyers of their criminality amongst the Shiites and Kurds. Get over yourself bro, One country doesn't necessarily equal one destiny. |
Bublanski:Bro, speak for your family. My people have no entanglement with Core north except during Abuja's monthly allocation. If and when the north falls it will fall alone. Take a look at Arab world. They've been convulsing since eternity yet the rest of the world is matching on. Even the small tiny Israel enjoys peace while her Arab neighbors are smoking. You know why? Its because terror only thrives wherever it finds sympathy. There's no sympathy for terror down south and especially in the East, so if and when your north completely goes up in smoke it'll be just that - smoke. Boko Haram and her apologists can never take over a sqr inch of Eastern land. The last time their fathers came to East they were lucky to come with the entire Arab world, Soviet union (need I remind you that soviet union was a multi nation block), Britain, Sudan, Egypt, plus 350 ethnic groups in Nigeria - all joined in a hate-filled killing frenzy for 3 years. And even with all that shebang they lost 50,000 soldiers. Any Easterner that says he's scared of Boko Haram in any hostilities that'll ensue due to a precipitous collapse of the north should be summarily shot and left to the vultures. |
noblezone:Can anyone blame any group that decides to leave Nigeria at this moment? The core north has shown itself to be an eternal drag and clog to this country's match to modernity and greatness. In 2014 they're still killing each other like barbarians. There's no stop to their killings and all indications show that if Nigeria remains one for another 100 years, Hausa-Fulani-Kanuri will still be very much in killing business. It's beginning to dawn on many groups in Nigeria, especially the Middle Belt, that as long as Core North is still part of this nation, their probability of peaceful existence in this hemisphere is far lesser than a 100 million dollar straight flush in Vegas. I believe that folks have come to 2 realizations which are: either Hausa-Fulanis are naturally and genetically murderous or their religion and culture expressly approves it - either way, it's doom and gloom for whoever is their neighbor. This realization is the reason Middle Belt is looking towards East for back-up because they know, and for obvious reasons, that it's only the East that can dam*n the torpedoes and go for a head-on collision with the Jihadists. They know Nigeria will never save anyone. They're aware we all live in a compromised country, hence the culture of kill or be killed is likely going to be with us perhaps until the final end. So, they would be the biggest fools not to start planning for a serious and tested back-up. My gut-feeling is that 2015 is either going to be won or rigged by GEJ and when that happens the Elders of Jihad, Ango, Junaid and co, will point their boys the direction of Christians enclaves. The mother of all carnage and battle will thereafter ensue. By then there would be no difference between Boko Haram and ordinary street Almajiri as they head southwards via Middle Belt. |
wordcat:You're right. I used to be hopeful that, at least somehow, there has to be moderates in Islam who completely believe in the right of non-Muslims to be whoever or whatever they so desire. But events in last 2 years have ruptured my hope. When one looks at what goes on in Muslim dominated countries - what becomes of the rights of minorities in such societies - one can't help but shudder in shock. We're the only majority Christian block in this country and we're also one of the few groups in this hemisphere not tainted by Islamic contagion. We've lived with and around this religion for as long as our fathers can remember, but at the same time we've remained immuned to its charm and threat, not even after the civil war - a time our fathers were down and out yet they refused to be cajoled or lured into it. Today, it's clear to Jihadists that as much as we're ready and willing to live side by side with Islam we will certainly not be part of it. Given Eastern people's covert and uncompromising stand on Islam there's no doubt that if and when the jihadists amass the liver to attack they will certainly come for us. Take a look at what's happening to minorities in Iraq and Syria, remember what happened to South Sudanese minorities in the hands of Janjawed militia, and then checkout the slow and steady encroachment of Wahabbi Jihadists in the Middle Belt - you can see a pattern that never stops until it comes to ahead in which thousands end up losing their lives. These people do not know what it means to stop so we need to be prepared. I'm glad men with foresight are beginning to exchange views. |
PatrykUtulu:The emboldened is my philosophy. Time for negotiation is long gone. I said it before that East is the bastion of Christianity in Nigeria and as such must not buy into the mantra of 'One Nigeria' in which violent and political Islam is gone rogue. If current world events are to be our guide, we know that Islamists save their worst for Christian enclaves. The list is endless - from Iraq to Syria, Egypt to Indonesia, Jihadists would rather commit suicide en-mass than leave Christian communities standing in any society they over-run. We need to stop listening to so-called 'moderate' Muslims' sweet-talks. They're only good at telling us how peaceful Islam is and how not every Muslim is a terrorist. Those sweet talks didn't save the 'infidels' in Iraq and Syria and it would certainly not save us at the darkest hour. Docile Christians need to know that in some of the communities taken over by ISIS some of the 'moderate muslims' joined ISIS criminals in bashing the heads of new born babies whose parents were Christians - search the net and find out the veracity of the story. Islam is a community, it's more of a political nation than a spiritual organization. It's highly expansionist and territorial, hence if you're not an adherent you're not truly a brother. That you're a brother or a neighbor of 20yrs won't save you if and when a situation boils down to Islam vs you or whatever it is they're always fighting. In the event Boko Haram over-runs the land the following is likely to happen: 1) Hardcore Muslims will be safe. 2) Few moderate Muslims will be exterminated. 3) All non-Muslims are guaranteed to be exterminated, aka BEHEADED. Never forget where you belong in the list above. |
One Nigeria. One Nation. President Goodluck Jonathan, please Go On With One Nigeria. |
Yet the region that led Nigeria for a greater chunk of its existence and has consistently mass produced illiteracy and poverty is the region clamouring to lead again. My question is: if they couldn't get their wards educated and fed for over 38 years, who else do they want to educate and feed? Isn't allowing a people who have failed woefully access to leadership akin to turning a pyramid upside down and expecting stability out of such impossibility? In my opinion it is complete madness to allow a people whose only achievement in the last 54 years is an over-supply of Almajiri and unrestrained massacre of fellow countrymen access to Aso Rock. Perhaps its better to let them lead their region however they deem fit while we lead ours. Atiku is very rich, let him tell us how much he has committed in the last ten years to ameliorate the problems he enumerated. Nigerian nation is no Santa Claus and this idiotic belief that Nigeria owes any man food on his table is shear buffoonery. A nation provides a level playing field for all, anything beyond that is called personal choice. If the north is uneducated its simply because they don't value education. If they're unfed while their counterparts in the south are fed is because they're either lazy or not fully evolved yet. We're not a nation at war with or without Boko Haram. And even if we were, Nigeria's civil war victims and other victims globally should be a guide to the resilience of any people who truly are bent on not being left behind regardless of the situation. Eastern Nigeria went through hell-fire, and one which the north and their collaborators instituted, and yet managed to ride out of that hell and in 3 to 5 years restored education and food for their children. Who's stopping the north from replicating Eastern Nigerians' feat in peace time? Truth is that the real desires of these northern pretenders have absolutely nothing to do with bettering the lives of Nigerians. They simply want a strong hold on Nigeria's leadership. Give them power now and come back in the next 20 years, I bet you'll still hear the same idiotic stories on how they want to provide education and whatnot - but by then Almajiri would have ballooned to 50 million with its associated astronomical illiteracy rate. Who said Gideon Orka was not right? |
Nctrice:Majority of terrorists read from one book and one book only, the Quran. How does good governance stop that? How about - get rid of those texts that sanction murder and terror from Koran, wouldn't that go a long way instead of blaming bad governance alone? If good governance was the cause, why do Pakistani terrorists cross into India to commit terror? Is bad governance in India the problem of Pakistan? Is bad governance in UK the reason terrorists bombed UK's subways? What about Spain...isn't it on records that terrorists bombed Spanish train? Is that bad governance too? I'm lost as to why this 'bad governance mantra' is more prevalent in Muslim dominated countries. Is it a mere coincidence or is it something rooted in religion and culture? This political correctness has got to stop. |
Made some corrections... The emboldened words correct the crossed ones. cramjones: cramjones:ANSWER: Perhaps Nigeria never had a strong Army in the first place. If Biafran Army that was constituted less than 3 months before the explosion of hostilities, and poorly equipped too, could kill more Nigerian soldiers in battle at a ratio of nearly 2:1 even in the face of impossible odds then maybe it's time for Nigeria to stop over-estimating the strength and fighting spirit of NA. Nigerian Army is no different than Nigerian nation - broken, yet irretrievably immersed in self denial and grand delusion of 'One Nation.' My take on the rest of your article(Note: the article in question is not posted here) Shekau is not Nigeria's problem, he's only a manifestation of it. I agree we need to eliminate him but at the same time eliminating him will not solve the root-cause of the emergence of men like Shekau or maitasine. Have Nigerians sat down to analyse why a supposedly rich kid like Abdumutalab, the underwear bomber, engaged in such suicidal act? Have we asked ourselves why Nigeria seems to be producing more violent characters than any other African country in this sub-region? There's a root-cause and there ought to be a solution that seeks out the problem starting from the root node. Nigeria's consistent failure to address that has been and will continue to be the reason we lurch from one unknown pillar to another. When Ebola came everyone knew it was out for all irrespective of one's side of the divide. It was a threat and Nigeria solved it. Maybe the analogy is trivial, but I believe you get it. Contrast that with Nigeria's daily unresolved issues.....We even see each other as threats - Now tell me, under this perpetual mutual suspicion and threat is it possible to comprehensively resolve Nigeria's issues? The answer is a big NO. It does not matter who wins the presidency, Nigeria is doomed as long as it shies away from resolving protracted question on ethnicity and nationhood. Who are we? where are we going? and do we go as a unit or as units? These and more unresolved issues have kept Nigeria weak and comatose. And as long as they're unresolved, Shekau and many more like him will continue to grace Nigeria's historical/political landscape. Shekau is not asking what his fathers and leaders never asked for. He wants sharia - his fathers not only wanted it they forced it down the throat of non-muslim northerners. Nigeria did nothing when that atrocious Sharia implementation that negated our constitution was committed - and Shekau was watching. Is it the litany of murders and wholesale massacre and burning of peoples and churches that have gone un-investigated for too long? Shekau has more than enough violent playbook to draw inspiration and knowledge from, and the worst part is that Nigeria never enforced its laws when those playbooks were written. Today Shekau is the caliph of Mubi so I suggest we all stop worrying and enjoy the ride. |
Atiku, you stood up when it mattered most that's why I feel your pain. You urged your brothers to kill Yerima's political sharia madness but they ignored you. Now look at the north - its become more crippled than it has ever been since Lugard collided us with them. As much as I feel your pain, I have this to say: Those who make political sharia and violent religiosity possible make monumental chaos and anarchy inevitable. I hope your brothers learn one or two things when they come out of this - if they do come out of it. |
kITATITA:Wake up. These times are different. We live in post 9\11, post Danish cartoon, post Al Qaeda, post....I might as well list some of the 'post' Islamic terror timeline. Here it is, we live in post: 9\11 Danish cartoon Al Qaeda Taliban Al shabbab ISIS Boko haram Ansaru Al Qaeda in Maghreb Hausa-Fulani Sharia imposition Akaluka beheading Oluwatosin roasting Miss Universe Riot Reinhard Bonnke Riot Madalla bomb blast Fulani extermination of Berom Implosion of once peaceful Jos due to Muslem Hausa-Fulani All of Middle Belt on the brink Over 15000 Nigerians dead in the last 5 years, thanks to Boko Haram. 80% of Chibok Christian girls taken hostage by Muslim terrorists Churches in the core north are on the brink What you see above (the ones that took place in Nigeria) are just the tip of the whole mess (all initiated and perpetrated by Nigerian Muslims.) Its important we all realize that even though Nigeria has always been a religious hot-spot, the introduction of Sharia with no regard for non-muslims aggravated the problem. There are many states in the north that had huge population of Christians who were sons of the soil yet it didn't stop Arewas from imposing sharia on those non-muslims - that's an issue Nigerians like to overlook. Arewa imposed religious laws on non-adherents yet we let them get away with it, now Boko Haram is trying to replicate it Nigeria-wide. So, when people say religion didn't matter during MKO time its either they're naive or they're playing dumbo. Nigeria is moving towards dissolution and I would not be surprised if it had anything to do with unrestrained Islamic onslaught on all of us. |
VirginFinder:You tell me...Perhaps it was Soviet Union, Arab league, Britain, Egypt, and Sudan that crushed Biafra 'mercilessly' and then handed the glory to NA to legitimize and perpetuate the notion that it was bunch of barbaric Africans killing each other. And in case you're in doubt, Nigerian Army lost almost 2x the number of Biafran military causalities - Don't take my word for it. So, ask yourself again - has Nigerian Army been duly tested? Or have we been basking in the euphoria and triumphalism of false victory? Boko Haram is now testing a 'stand-alone' NA and what do we see? We see Cameroon save them here and there and we call it 'tactical maneuvering.' Biafra was strangled to submission through satanic blockade of food that was costing 50,000 lives of innocent children monthly. 50,000 lives/month - don't take my word for it - and it did the magic NA, USSR, UK, and Arab world could not do. Today things are different - An average Boko Haram is eating 3 course meals per day and you can see the magic their padded stomach infrastructure is doing against NA in the battle field. And the worst part is that we can't even blockade the entire food supply to North East like we did to Christian infidels of Biafra. To compound Nigeria's dilemma, our country's old war friends and allies are not only uninterested in helping us secure a cheap win like before, they're now blocking us from buying arms as well as beaming their one-sided Human Rights, Amnesty International, and Geneva convention 'nonsense' on us. You see, we're handcuffed alone in the dark and Boko Haram is riding shotgun on our over-bloated national ego which is why ordinary Museveni that couldn't tame Joseph Kouny is Muhamad-aling and Mike-tysoning us at will. Who will save the giant? |
legendsilver:You spoke well and I admire you for that but this is my concern: How many times are we going to fight? We've been doing this since 1945 and in 1967 the bottom fell out, Gowon patched the tire and told everyone to get in the bus or....... folks jumped in because after all the 'vile bearded Ojukwu' had been silenced so it should be a smooth sail - what a heck let's jump in they said. Barely 12 years after they jumped in One-Nigeria-bus Maitasine shattered the smooth sail, but this time the Dan Fodios are not in talking-mood so while folks were expecting to hear: please can someone move this bus....its getting dark and it's scary out here. Arewas angrily looked Nigerians in the eye and signaled all and sundry to move or be moved. This time is different said Arewa. No more sweet-talk about comradery or one nation, it is going to be Arewa and Arewa only. You had your chance to abort but chose to roll so roll you must and this time its by Arewa rules, so jump in infidel or you're dead. As usual non-hausa/Fulani Nigerians said: oh its ok, its a national problem, 'they' want to tear us apart but we won't let them, its CIA, its MI5, its KGB, its Mossad, 'they' paid our children to take up arms against 'our dear' country. They want our oil, they want to steal our resources, they're afraid of us because we're a 'great' country. Story, story, and story! Every thing but the truth. While the south was busy parroting lies on behalf of Arewa, Arewa henchmen and top-dogs were in Kano, Kaduna, and sokoto rocking their easy-chairs with 50 year old wines and smirking off - we gat them! They said they were educated, who's educated now - fools! As if that was not enough they let loose their boys in khaki and, oh boy! Coup after coup, promise after promise, murder after murder, and guess what? most of the murders were exclusively targeted at southern intellectuals - from Dele Giwa to MKO. Arewa never knew the difference provided you were from Middle Belt down to Okrika - anything that raised its mouth against born-to-rule was gonna be dam*d - whatcha you gon do...nothing, so shut the helll up and remain in the bus, or do you want the black-goggled Abacha to know you personally? No sir! Ok then, remain in the bus like I said and we'll be juuust fineee. Thank you sir! That's my boy! Fast forward to 2002, and by that I mean pretend like there was no carnage from the time Abacha ate the mythical apple to the time Yerima imposed sharia on all us. Even with that Arewa's box of violence from Abacha's sunset through 2002 left blank and unshaded, it still looks like we haven't caught a break. And why should we? I mean think about it - Southern Nigerians chose to ride along 10 million Almajiris in one tiny bus and yet they expect its going to be a smoothy. No, its going to be hell and we should know better. If that's still not clear to us now maybe we need to go back and read Aliyu Gwazo's 'ride or die' message to supposedly educated Nigerians. Today where are we? We don't even know. We can't tell what happened to us. We've come to love and excuse the murderers instead of facing the truth which is - cut the murderers loose so they can have their own country. With our 'uncommon common sense' and with no khaki man staring us in the face in intimidation we still want to keep the ride or die system going. We still talk about how CIA, MI5, and Mossad are trying to break us using Boko Haram. I guess Russia should be grateful to god for breaking soviet union else we would have included KGB in the list of Nigeria's haters. What a people! Today Gombe is up in smoke and our people are still declaring, yet again, that we must stay united and defeat these monsters. They say it as if our fathers haven't been saying the same garbage since 1945. To them what's happening today is about today, they believe it has little or no connection to our past hence their stay-united mantra. Perhaps they forgot that one true unity is only achievable in death - only the dead are united. My people, Southern and Middle Belt people, why pursue what we can't kill? Why ask for the impossible? Why insist on one nation with a people who're in it for Jihad while we're in it for the nation? Is this love or lost? I have no doubt that in our hearts we wish for the bombing and extremism in the North to stop, but will it? If we know the root-cause of endless murder and bloodshed in the north won't go away what's stopping us from walking? What's more noble and responsible - to ride and die or to leave and live? May God us when we're ready. |
Where did it happen? In the But my question is: when will Arewa realize that 'RIP' is what most Nigerians owe them? How long will it take them to realize the violent culture pervading their land is doing them no good? The other I was reading travelers' guide and came across a list of 11 most dangerous places on earth to avoid - I guess by now you know Nigeria made the list so no need to continue. However, its pertinent to state for the sake of emphasis that the image of Nigeria shown on that list was the infamous 2011 post election riot and massacre of NYSC southerners. If you've seen a photo showing mean-looking and unruly boys with machetes and sticks in a smoking and fiery background in the north then you've seen the travelers' guide depiction of your 'great' country. Except Nigeria, Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria, the rest of But then again, if one takes a hard look at the similarity between Nigeria and Afghanistan, Nigeria and Iraq, Nigeria and Syria, one needs no further explanation to figure out the type of implacable monster we're lullabying. Wahabi Islamic cultural infiltration in Nigeria through Hausa-Fulani's love for anything Arabia is here to change Nigeria's landscape for good. We can listen to their fairy tale of 'religion of peace' or we can scan through their trail of blood and cut them loose before its too late. |
simpleseyi:Military rule is over in Nigeria. Except you meant 'brother take-over' in which case its only the president's ethnic and religious group that can overthrow him and still have Nigeria intact. Any other ethnic group that engages in a coup that topples a sitting president belonging to another ethnic group is in for an explosion. Better believe that's the current reality of Nigeria. Even removing him through the ballot is not guaranteed to be peaceful, so wake up from that dream. |
cheruv:And we're doing it. |

noblezone:I was going through old Nigerian schools' pics on this link https://www.nairaland.com/1973226/discovering-nigerias-educational-excellence-achebes and then I stumbled on your beautiful thread. I only have 3 words for you after reading this write-up - what an insight! Its like it was written yesterday. I mean, where was I in 2009...not sure Boko Haram was in killing business then right? But look at where we are now, unbelievable! Like you rightly said - its a circle. |
atlwireles:Why should he do that? That's an express encouragement to lawlessness and men who perpetuate it. I understand Tompolo is making big buck from oil brigandry even before the inception of GEJ's administration and I have no problems with it for the simple reason that Nigeria's oil belongs to his people. But to threaten a responsible citizen who is, perhaps, one of the remaining faces of constitutionalism is madness. He needs to learn how to drink his oil in absolute silence else he'll go the way of small men who, after filling their stomachs to the brim, storm out in the open to challenge the gods. |
peewhydee:He will have none of the emboldened. You forgot he's a Nigerian and a Fulani - Two recipes that abhor apology to 'assumed subjects.' Like many NLs say - you're on a long thing if you're expecting apologies from GMB. My concern now is for non-natives resident in the Core North because from the look of things this election is going to be pretty ugly. I wonder who's ready to send a son or daughter to the north in the name of NYSC election monitoring/service. Basically, what it means is that people will likely stay in their zones and thumb-print as much as they want. Who wins and who loses becomes a matter of which side one is on. |
ISpiksDaTroof:Below is what I said earlier when you accused us of repeatedly maligning Bendel people, do it or keep silent. I suppose Arewa is now 'other Nigerians' lol! Real funny. The only 'carers' of Arewa are the Arewas. Empathy for Arewa doesn't cross the boundary separating Northern and Southern Kaduna just as empathy for the East does not go past Delta state. This is Nigeria so stop looking for favors or empathy, and stop looking for ethnic groups to help you continue your dream of dipping Koran in Eastern coastline. SamIkenna: |
ISpiksDaTroof:Provide evidence of serial and pathological denigration of 'Bendel region' by Igbos or shamefully and permanently remain quiet. We know you'all are currently in pains given the avalanche of immovable forces that have massed against Buhari's second coming to Just because extreme religiosity is the vehicle for political ascent in Arewanistan doesn't mean its acceptable in Eastern heartland. We, the people of the East, will never allow an avowed Sharia monger and Fulani supremacist to lord over us again. Your Buhari got there before via the barrel but today he's not the only one with a hot and ready gunpowder. So on Feb 12 we shall send Arewa, your paymaster, a resounding NO to all the threats, violence, extreme Islam, massacre, and terror they've perpetrated on innocent indigenous Nigerian tribes. Keep on hating on Igbos while we deliver on our promise. |
Justcash:Many ethnic groups will abandon Nigeria if that happens. Powers that be know better than to try such referendum. Nigeria and Nigerians have shed so much blood for Nigeria that even the devil himself is probably wondering if he actually is the one and only true Lucifer. What kind of a country continues to break its own blood soaked record every single year? 1945 through 2014 is how many years? For some inexplicable reasons peace continues to be elusive in Nigeria. Many in the Middle Belt today can't even step their feet in their own bought/ inherited farms and you think they wouldn't pay anything to be separated from their murderers? I guess the only reason majority of people might decide to stick it out in Nigeria is because they've come to a point where they no longer have any kind formula. They've been battered to a point they're willing to accept the current fate as God's plan, hence no need to leave. If Nigeria stays as is for another 100 years with no structural changes it'll be the capital of Hades. For long we've been frittering away our solutions, so now we have only two left: (1) Fiscal and political restructuring down to the smallest brick, and (2) break the country into as many nations as people desire. The problem is that both solutions are going to be painful in the short term but they're the only magic we've got left. We've gone past piecemeal solution. Failure to apply any of the two solutions above will eventually lead to an explosive head-on collision. So, yea. If you give people the option of aborting now without the guaranteed collision that awaits them if they wait for much longer you bet they would take it. |
76Naira:Their ignorance is to the point of foolishness. I guess it comes with the territory, and by territory I mean being on top of the world since the end of WW1. I'm hoping they'll wake up before its too late. Its even worse in the African American community - no dream, no ambition, no self-respect, no sense of history, its just pitiful. Even Sarah Palin - she thought Africa was a country up until a few years ago. Anyways, my hope, work, and prayer is for Africa to buckle up. We must not let this century pass us by - the West is too ignorant and condescending to be an honest co-traveler. We must do it the Chinese way - wealth through sweat and no complains. |
Aizebioje:lol! Says who? One of the things that'll shock any new immigrant to the US is the number of ignorant folks. When I say ignorant, I mean healthy and well dressed ignorant people with absolutely no knowledge of their friendly neighbor, Canada, much less Senegal. Yet the country works. |
malele:What will they do with Abuja? Turn oil money off and watch these folks shrivel in a second. Abuja will in 5 years revert to virgin land it was before southern money graced it. |
