..............and must you use the freedom of speech to incite violence.......huh
but that is the truth...he may have not meant to incite violence, he said the truth which is his opinion....i don't think what he said is enough to cause violence....any group that uses what he said to be violent are the ones looking for violence...truth be told if such comments concerns the south, i don't think any group will be violent...i wonder why it is the north that are ready to fight because of little matters.
PoliticsRe: Two Reasons Why We Should Be Happy About Supreme Court's Judgement On Rivers by SamJed(op): 1:06pm On Jan 28, 2016
renzie:
Even though i am in support of wike winning and being the Gov of Rivers state. I have some concerns about the Impact of the supreme court Judgemment on elections in Nigeria in the future. It has indirectly rubbished the efforts at reducing election rigging thru the use of card readers. This judgment will embolden politicians to ignore the card reader and rig elections knowing that they have a chance of winning at the court based on the position of the law. We all know results were inflated manually even though wike would have still won if a free and fair election held. This judgement even though it has proven the independence of the judiciary at least at the supreme court has taken us many steps backward in achieving rigging free elections. I will like something to be done quickly legislatively with regards to card readers
i may agree with u but remember what is good for the goose is also good for the gander...if Lagos state own was not annulled, then rivers state own should not be annulled. So i guess the lagos factor played a role in wike's victory.

PoliticsTwo Reasons Why We Should Be Happy About Supreme Court's Judgement On Rivers by SamJed(op): 7:50am On Jan 28, 2016
In as much as I am in support of Wike winning the case at the supreme court, I want us to look at two major reasons why we should be happy with the judgement in a non partisan view.
1. It has saved us some money: This judgement has saved not only Rivers state but Nigeria as a whole some money. Everyday we keep crying no money, economy is dry yet some people were still advocating for a re run. A re run election in Rivers state will gulp millions if not billions of Naira as both leading contending parties will fight to the last to claim the state and the irony of it is that tax payers money will be used. This is turn will make whoever wins to use the re-run election in giving excuses of no money when it is time to work.

2. Loss of lives: If Bayelsa with only 8 LGA's could claim as much amount of lives as it did in the last election, imagine how many lives Rivers state with 23 LGA's would have claimed. The election would have been a do or die affair for both parties with the citizens as casualties. For my family here we were already thinking of leaving the state till the election is over. If not for anything else, we should be happy that the supreme court has spared us another round of blood shed.

You need to see desperate measures people adopt to escape Nigeria. goto our immigration centers that issues passports, embassies, airports and all exist points in Nigeria and see things for yourself.

The iimmigration officers will first congratulate you that God has answered your prayers and you tip them. it continues till you exist the hole and see how real working societies look and ask yourmaker why you were even born a Nigerian in the first instance.
true....but i still wonder where Africa as a whole was when the world was developing

EriSaho:
Greeting,

From my understanding is, Nigeria is one of the richest country in Africa and they are progressing very well. They have resources that gives them the advantage to head forward.

So, why do some sizable numbers of Nigerians flee to Libya or Morocco in order to reach Europe in the most dangerous route aka the Mediterranean sea in a broken boat where they could end up drowning which happens often in the last two years?

African migrants are treated like dirt in lawless, war torn and warlord run-Libya where they face slavery and concentration style camp (see VICE on YT), and recently being looked down in Europe?

Isn't Nigeria better than that? What makes them flee when Nigeria is rich? And why is the government not doing anything to stop them from risking their lives?

I hope my tone is not harsh or anything. I just wanna know why they risk themselves fleeing when their country is in a decent position. undecided
from ur previous post, i guess u are from Eritrea...to ur question, the picture painted to u about us here in Nigeria may not be exactly what you think. The fact remains that those that leave, leave for greener pasture. Not every citizen is satisfied with what he is getting in nigerian. So for me, leaving the country is normal...it is just in search for greener pastures. Even citizens of top countries leave their countries too. It doesn't mean that their country is not okay but everyone wants a better place.

The presidency of Nigeria is like being the C.E.O of a company, if your employer terminates your appointment you have no other choice than to leave.
He didn't do anything remarkable by conceding defeat, you know what they say about he who rides a tiger.
seriously u think there is nothing remarkable in him conceding defeathuh Well it is because u are living in peace that is why u think so....if he had decided to hold on to power, many would have died....it would have been more of an ethnic war as the northerners will vehemently resist him...the polity was already tense so anything resistance from him would have caused blood shed....remember ivory coast's own....for him to concede defeat means alot

PoliticsRuling On Kanu's Bail Adjourned by SamJed(op): 11:50am On Jan 25, 2016
At the assumed hearing judge over the case adjourned for a ruling on an application filed by the accused person on January 14.
On the move for motion for the summons for bail by E. M Ekweju, Kanu’s counsel, the prosecuting cousel, Mohammed Diri said he was ready to respond to the bail application.
Ekweju told the court that section 158 and 162 of the Criminal Justice Act is a statutory right in the constitution for an accused person seeking for bail before the court.
“My lord, it is my humble submission that that the counter affidavit filed by the prosecution has not attempted to meet the provisions of Section 162 of the CJA,”Ekweju said.
But in his objection, Diri said the only material attached to the application is what has happened before the Magistrate Court.
He noted that no affidavit of means is included as claimed by the defense counsel.
He also said the oral application by the counsels does not tally with his affidavit.
Diri further prayed the court to refuse the applicant bail and an order for accelerated hearing.
After hearing the submissions and objections, Tsoho adjourned ruling on bail application toFriday, January 29.
Justice Tsoho had on Wednesday, January 20 ordered that Kanu be remanded in Kuje prison pending hearing on his bail application today, January 25.
Since his arrest in October, 2015 Kanu has remained in custody of the State Security Services (SSS).
An action which one of his counsel, Chuks Muoma argued has left him incommunicado with his family and lawyers inclusive.
A source within Kanu’s family also told Naij.com that since Kanu was moved to the prison facility there have been visitations from his immediate family.
“You will see him today, looking better than the last time, at least he had also eaten good food too,” the source said.
