Water heater specs attached

As of 9am today

I have an array of 3200 watts on epsolar mmpt so being maxed out. I brought out my old 48v 60amps old charge controller and started my journey on another solar array. 4 (320watts) panels. Hooked all of them up this morning.

Thanks to everyone member on this forum. I think about a month or 2 back. The discussion on solar water heater was so overheated on this forum. There were 2 views. One side was for thermal solar water heater that does not need panels. While another side were for more panels and connect your normal water heater. Well I have been planning for a year on this particular issue of hot water if Nepa no dey ,na to boil water with kettle.
I read every points and views brought out by the powerful people on this forum on this issue of hot water.
All the videos and links much appreciated and my further research on my own. Made me to go the more panel way. Beside I did not have space on my roof for the thermal water heater.
Sticking with panels seems more practical I have more power too charge my batteries especially during bad weather.

@efuro you stated placing the rated diode either b4 breaker of the cc. Is at the negative side or positive side. And any idea on the size of the rated diode.

If the cc is faulty and not preventing this back drain how can u detect this. The cc brings out 30-40a on a good day with volts peaking at 125v no load. That's on epsolar display

My setup is 12 pieces of 150w (6 poly, 6 mono) and battery bank of 7200WH@ 24v, plus 2kva microtek inverter, 60A fangpusun mppt. 50A PV/CC breaker, No Mnspd, No router, contactor or automation, etc. Just a simple setup to ensure 24hrs electricity.

However, I do not have PV feedback or at least my CC takes care of that. It rare nowadays to have that problem you described. Most PV have blocking diode at their terminal box. Also, standard CC prevent such scenario. And if that occurs please audit ur setup.


1. Run some test to Confirm if ur batteries are not the culprit, this include leaving ur pv breaker open while discharging ur bank.

2. Did u do + or - ive grounding to ur setup? If no, insulate ur cables with PVC pipe right from the rooftop-combiner-cc and battery etc. If u don't have funds then just trace ur cable carefully for possible leakages. ( option 2 is only where ur CC is not standard or locally built)

My advice
Calculate ur max pv voc and get a rated diode soldered along the cable just after combiner box (if u have) or before ur CC breaker and you will be fine.

Thanks for. The suggestion. Will carry out a examination on all the cables. Another question if my panels are setup different sides of the roof. 2 stings on opposite sides of the roof (3*4) config. I have suspecting that maybe the panels that get early sunlight might get pulled down by the other panels that don't have exposure yet causing early morning. Drain. also similar case later at night as sun sets one side still as exposure while the other panels are asleep drainage starts. I guessing this might be culprit. Over to my ogas in the house

Sometimes buying PV modules are subjective decision.
We know fast buoys are capable of rebranding best brands.
If he want a reliable PV let him try sunshine solar module. He can thank me when he isolate & test them before incorporating it to upgrading during installation.

I had mixed feelings when I ordered for some( particularly when people believed it is of a lower quality) surprisingly, i had a huge leap in my production almost up to nominal PV ratings. I have since been harvesting my returns immediately. I observed the design of each cells has been changed from previous design thay had.
With that experience, I have since received my fresh order, installed, enjoying my investment.

Depsite bad weather (as if the sun always draw clouds to cover its face) I consistently complete my 2hrs bsorption by 10.30-11am with my 3x4 setup. And always looking for what switch or put-on to keep my modules smiling.

I am not advertising sunshine modules. As DIY I will say the reverse if it is not true, after all it is my investment and my setup.

Your setup is similar to mine. Do you have battery being drained by the panels problems.in my setup during cloudy day or towards the evening the panels drain the batteries. I read somewhere the More u series the more this issue crops up. Anybody with a solution would. Appreciate. Panels are configured 3x4 . Mppt charge. Controller 60a.inverter 48v 200ah..

My charge controller has two auxiliary ports which can be configured to switch a relay on/off at preset battery voltages.

I configured the Aux1 to switch on the relay powering the heavy loads DB when battery voltage hits 57.8V and switch off when battery voltage drops to 52.6V. This way, the opportunistic loads cannot drain my batteries even in bad weather.

A programmable timer fires another relay at 4pm and switch the heavy loads DB to PHCN. It also switch the DB back to the inverter at 8am.

Sounds complex. But interesting . Can you pls gives us a break down of the system. Battery size, capacity, numbers and the type flooded,voltage also.
your charge controller type and specs. My guy I am impressed.

High doses of vitamin c (white). Works for my brother. A total of 10 tablets a day. He usually swallows and licks them. Since over 2 years no issues. Before he was on cocktail of asthma drugs...

And I know on this forum everyone screams blue blood on parallel battery setup. That series is the best. Could u give some insights on how you are overcoming or preventing parallel battery. Wahala. What silence are you talking about? EFCC have applied to the court for an order of forfeiture and the court has granted a temporary order. The real owner of the money now has 14 days to come out and claim the money or forget about it forever. EFCC no longer needs to look for the owner.

Most of them don't even know whe parvo sets in. One thing I have come to realise is the fact that these vets are the ones sometimes who transmit this parvo virus front their own sick pups. Am talking from experience

i think u re right. carrying your dog the vet exposes them to so many things. because like i said i have never had a dog in my compd. .

all this happened just 3 hrs ago. i no get puppy any more . my guy its painful but when u remeber peoples advice wait it out. you will feel like punching yourself. miss my baby pup theatcher RIP...

vet came in . injections in his hand. told him about the blood she excreted. well my dog was jabbed again 4 times. we were told to continue with the syringe feeding. he left . 30 mins my pup startered breathing rapidly. i was seeing pup going. she found it difficult to breathe. funny as it sounds i started chest compression on my pup. my pup was just managing as i was assisting her to breath. my wife called the vet my pup looked up at me one more time then yelled. the vet on speaker phone asked was that the dog. no its the cat.

vet promised will be around later in the day. i got home early. my pup was so lean and down. what i read online syringe and coconut water. i pumped my pup with the coconut milk. my pup sat up. could try lap small water. i was a bit relieved. then we heard the knock at the door.

my morning don scatter and i have to go to work . i carried my pup and tried feeding her by hand. she will swallow some but will later throw up. i daw tears in my pups eye. my guy i dey pain.

went to work . then my wife called my pup sneaked into the house and was excreting blood. my work don scatter. people could see i was worred. what do you think i shoud i called the vet.

atleast in my mind thats the best thing to do. next morning i called out to my pup. expecting her to run to my feet and lick my feet or carry her paws and tap me gentle. my guy i am hungry.. but instead she sluggishly came towards me and slumped.

never taught i could be attached to a dog on my life. my puppy will look into my eyes my guy i dey die. looking at her emacieted body and refusing t o eat only taking water. i reached out to the vet.

bring her in. which i did. my dog was jabbed with 4 injections my pup yelleped. i was toldit it was infection i said ok.

after collecting money for the injections i took
my dog home.

let me first say becareful with those that call themselves vet.

i have never been a dog person from the beginning. but because of the way our country is with no security i was pratically dashed the puppy. i have been robbed in mu home.

my pup rot was close to 2 months plus very lively with a big appetite. grow very fast and friendly with my family. occasionally will fall sick but usually pulls thru..
acaccording to the vet he had given my pup the necssary vacinnation for her age range..
well she had her episode of throwing up . you ask for advice or read online people will say the same wait she will pull thru.
