What u are lookin for at Songhai is right here in naija. I suggest u attend d trainin of Roboski, aquatic1, abx and Excelsior. These guyz are masters or gurus in dis field. Plus they understand naija market n its peculiar chalenges. Its saves u feedin n acomodatn cost.

Between Aerator and bio disc(though expensive) which one is a must have?

excelsiorfarm: first it is important that doing the biz of raising broilers especially, u have to get a ready market on ground. reason is if they overstay, the profit begins to decline. why fear? those birds eating habit is incredible, if u were feeding layers(adult),200 birds will feed on a bag every day, hence as your birds improve in age, expect the feeding cost to increase. even become of the current torrent of cold, do not compromise on the most essential energy building source in your feed if you choose to formulate i.e. maize. even your cockerel will take at least 5-6 months become getting a good marketing age/weight.so you will till spend become it is worth it. but aside all this vaccination and keeping a good environment is the crucial aspect not to ignore.it is only economical if a farmer is feeding a large number of birds to formulate feeds(to see a meaningful difference),next time pls do your enquiry b4 you begin. IMPORTANT POINT OF NOTE-Those birds must not starve even for a day, unlike fishes that can be left for even weeks and they will still recover. To save cost, if formulating, maize can be substituted with sorghum, but maize is best. full fat soya, because it is expensive than GNC, can be reduced and GNC INCREASED A BIT, but for your number my advice is buy finished feed, it saves u stress, animal care / top feeds is good

Great farmers, which formula is cost effective for poultry, i have like 70 birds(Broilers and cockerel), they feed(25 kg bag:N2,400- weekly) like birds on a suicide mission, due to over eating lol. Its eating deep into my pocket and they are 22 days old today. Any advice on how to save cost and still feed them effectively? Pls dnt ignore like u did my questn earlier.

robonski15: You can buy 3 male and female to be kept seperately.. when they start producing u can start feeding your catfish with the tilapia fries..

I just got informed dat my broilers(24pcs) are kinda white-ish dis morning. I feed them well(they eat like crazy! My 44 cockrels too) and giv vaccine, drug when due, why this? D broilers feed to a point dey cud not walk, dey are 19 days old today, is it normal?

excelsiorfarm: good idea,it reduces feeding cost & u are sure to make money than someone that raise only catfish,u still have to use feeds, remember tilapia must chop,also d catfish need feeding,in case tilapia aint producing enough,u need good water mgt

excelsiorfarm: 300-400 fingerlings of tilapia is ok for 10X10 size pond,they multiple & would creat overcrowding,then note catfish grows faster than tilapia,hence max of ratio of 4 to 15,God ble

Sir, am thinking of buying few Adult tilapia as u suggestd earlier, so they can start reproducing early and my 10 weeks old catfish(abt 400 pcs) can start feedin on tilapia fries. Any advice sir Excelsior?

Thanks Ayosat, i finally bought my Robonski- inspired Zeigler feed yesterday at abatior. But am still in need of few matured tilapia, male n female. I need contact of where to purchase, any to help with that??

excelsiorfarm: in reference to what iam saying concerning d culture of catfish & tilapia, first point of note is to understand that tilapia fries are v delicate,hence i dont support u buy fries,but only matured male & females.they naturally spawn themselves- meaning without inducing them,they reproduce.therefore u can culture yrs.puting them with catfish,allows d catfish to prey on d fries produce.u can either put d matured tilapia in a pond,then after 4-6wks,remove d matured ones from d pond & introduce your fingerlings/juveniles,there are feeds for both,now ask yr specify question on yr aim?

I intend to complement my catfish feed n also save feed cost with their fries and hopefully make sales with d ones dat survives. Am using tampouline pond. samshoz: I asked for ziegler at Sabina stores(major feed distributor) at Abatior oko oba dnt have. Where do u get? Ayosat: Ziegler is very much available. But not at Sabina but at one of the stores at abattoir first gate. (i think they call the place mogaji stores ) they are a major distributor of zeigler fish food.

I recorded mass death (about 35pcs on wedsday) of my docile n runt-like post fingerlings dat i sorted into a blue drum(about 60pcs) wit clean water. Their skin was slippery wit slimey moist on it & skin peeling off. Its really painful cos i just started, i suspect someone messed wit d water in my absence, cos i ve used the drum for weeks before.
