why not attend Robonski's training and save urself some uneccessary expenses, dat cud be used to used to add more value to ur farm, just saying.

jamp: I tink they are d same but one is stronger than the other. The first time I had d case I administered proccoc but the next one we had the vet adviced we give a stronger anti cocc (dicla z)

abbeybanks: Hi everyone, plz how often is it recommended to change woodshavings? i normally change mine every 3days, the chickz are 3weekz and 2 days. i ran into someone today the person recommends i allow the woodshavings to stay for over 2 weeks even as maggot starts coming out from their droppings and the chicks eating them provided its not wet.

I have been givin my d.o.c layers(50pcs), cocks(100pcs- wil sel them of in 3wks, except layer) n broiler(25pcs) super starter-N2700(damn expensive). But i decided to switch broiler starter-N2560. I wil folow ur earlier wen this is exhausted sir.

Chick mash is d initial feed every birds must receive for good development & growth, contains essential nutrients eg protein etc,grower has lesser protein, more CHO,to meet up d every need of d girls, it is given after chick mash,pre layer after around 14/15 wks, in some cases 16, when d birds are about laying;layers, when they have started laying consequently. D golden yolk layer mash contains additive in it that enhance d color of yr birds egg yolks to look golden or deep yellow in nature.

What about starters? I appreciate u very much sir and thank God for d connection wit u.

Bestofralph: Broilers are naturally fast growing breed of birds. Feeding them growers which have a higher protein ratio will only make them overweight & in some cases making them unable to move around and this is not good for the birds.

So, u recommend broiler starter?? Though am using top feed super broiler starter(more expensive) for my broilers and layers.

I actually met with mr samshoz, we attended the cooperative together, he was an observer, I guess he learnt a lot that day.
I will want to call on farmers around lagos to come as an observer then u can register.. What you stand to achieve cannot be over emphasized..

Wow! I finally met Robonski today, me n the bro attended "DIVINE COOPERATIVE" meeting(i was observing). Those farmers gat wealth of knowledge, i was totally amazed at the way they were willing to help each other out. They are very focused and experienced(be it fishery or poultry). I stand to gain alot n am going to make sure i register on ma next attendance. God bles u Robonski for dis opportunity/platform.

excelsiorfarm: the duration of your birds is totally based on your feeding habit and the weight target, it can be 6 wks,8 wks ,10 wks or more

robonski16: Like what mr excelsoir said about fish seed, its very important.. If you have a good fish seed in 4months the fishes will be ready with good management...

Likewise if u stock the wrong fish seed you can feed them with ranan,coppens,zeigler all will amount to nothing... That is why I tell farmers to know the source of the fish they buy..

I can't agree more, i just pray dis ones eventually grow n sell 'em out but next time its through u or d coop. I 've learnt my lesson dis time.

excelsiorfarm: my bro, i saw yr post but since a consultant is involve, i decide to mellow, since u insist,u have to change water before harvest, reason is it gives u d understanding of their state, if u feeding had being uniformly,to reduce nitrate & possibly reduce pollutant. U don't necessarily have to cover, concerning vital feed, i use raanan & u can start from day one if u choose or start with coppens & a month use the feed,but will be little difference if any,hence u can stick to whichever one u want, for cannibalism, by nature catfish feed on fishes,though there are those that feed on greens also, to reduce it feed well, uniformly, sort, but the sick ones that die will be fed on. Feeding uniformly , u feed them in varying spot points i.e. Feed your fishes at different point , the first point, only the fastest, nearest & strongest will eat & that is d reason u feed at least the four corners & centre for almost perfect feed distribution. Concerning releasing d concrete ponds water into yr earthen ponds, maybe yr earth site isn't producing enough water, but such water is also pollutant because it is mostly nitrate , it can help enhance algae growth, but if much, sucks out d o2 level in your ponds. U can sort, monthly in other not To stress your fishes,but the first time of stocking, sort in 3 wks & 3 wks after, to remove great size fishes. If feed regime is ok & u try your self to feed uniformly, size difference won't be Too obvious.
