excelsiorfarm: ,not all brand has pre layer,even when u feed them grower feed,they will start layering but d eggshell cant be as strong as feeding them with layers feed or probably prelayer

Thanks noble bro. I knew it was unlike u to delay. How many times monthly should i administer d anti biotics? I bought anti CRD(it has Tylosine, Doxyciline) is it ok? D pre-layer can be fed even if birds(36pcs/black) hav not started laying at 15wks?

jamp: My birds had same problem though not all. We were abut giving them d last vaccine ie 3 in 1 when We discovered some were light while some were closing their eyes. We had to give them a strong antibiotics(deoxyen). Their poo was also green in color(light green). They were supposed to be giving lasota(vaccine for newcastle) but we decided to give antibiotic since the next vacine 3 in 1 is also for newcastle.the birds are ok now though we lost 2 dt period and they are ready for vacination tomorow(3 in 1).

I will advice you to check their droppings and if its green pls give them lasota else administer a strong antibiotics.cheers

robonski15: Very true... The federal government was giving out 5 bags of feed and free fingerlings at a subsidized rate through cooperatives for registered farmers... But it has ended some weeks back.. I collected some feed myself but didn't collect the free fingerlings..

I think its not good to bring birds from different farms together, dats probably one of the reasons i lost many cockerel recently. Inadequate space too. Any ideas colleagues?

Rzq4: D growth cant b uniform bh wt tym dey will catch up. I gt ma birds frm zartech. I will post dia pix tomoro. I formulate my feed. U can try amin-total, supervita conc, or vitamino trace. Dey are all gud vitamin and electrolyte supplement. @nbg, do nt panic, ur birds will start droppin soon

Its like a cupboard with iron net bottom but has a little space like dat off a computer sliding keyboard. But its a plywood wit a formaica top for easy rinsing off poop daily. Its a temporary cage b4 dey start layin on deep litter. I wil start savin 4 cage though.

omotititi: Cages that can house 120 are sold for 65-70k depending on ur location and bargaining capacity .I can give you contacts of the guy i bought my own from.

wood shavings and cages with droppings falling on formaica platform, i rinse of deir poop of d formaica daily into d gutter. or use as manure 4 a mini vegetable farm.

So I advise that you start the process of booking for ur birds now.The performance of my birds has been very good,doing well above 85% daily and they started laying at week18,5days and I purchased them at 16weeks.

Local cages now come with nipple drinkers that are connected to a central tank that supply water to all the cells of the cages. Thess kind of cages make poultry farming easy and interesting.It is d way to go my brother.

how much are dose cage types?

obnelly: I guess you will need a timer with constant power on farm to do that.Its not too diffucult to make.I am working on a prototype.

Never knew it require constant light. Lets see it by uploading pix, when or before u are through.

The house should also discuss galvanized poultry battery cages with automatic feeders and drinkers. Though i cant afford it now but it will be ideal for my part time farm. I dnt want to worry about ma birds feedin/drink while doin my regular job.

I attended yesterday, members were given feeds and had acess to fingerlings at an unbelievable discount. They are some of d benefits d society partnership with govt enjoy. They also help with members with unsold stock etc.

Runts are (in my case) fish that has low growth rate, despite adequate feeding.

Idango: The label on the concentrate will indicate what feed and for what category of poultry: starter, grower, finisher mash etc. It will also indicate the mixing proportion i.e if the concentrate will form 40%,30% of the feed.
