Politics / Re: Pat Utomi Did Not Withdraw From The Presidential Race by samsilo(m): 12:49pm On Apr 17, 2007
I worked with  a cousin  to get PDP nomination as a councilor in Akwa Ibom in 2003.During the election what I saw from the village level, ballot box stealing, matcheting etc, and after spending almost 1 million naira the guy regretted so much because the whole results were decided in a hotel in Uyo.
He won because he had backing in PDP high levels, but that experience showed me that the only way clean guys or gentle people like Pat Utomi can win any election is if the masses fight against the system.
Fighting against the system ,not with guns but the way the people in Lagos ,Abia state and most significantly on June 12 did .
There is a kind of electorate turn out which the best riggers cannot change the results.
Thats the only way Nigerians can have a voice, but if people stay at home and criticize ,na carry go for the riggers

Romance / Re: How A 17 Year Old Girl Lied Against Me After Our Date by samsilo(m): 12:01am On Apr 17, 2007
I feel this guy is telling the truth, fact is you should have refused to let her into your house. When I was serving in one village in Imo state there was this Uniport student I was toasting, she was 20 but had a sister who was 16 and in secondary school. Sometimes I would see the sister and just ask about her elder sister.
To my surprise one day I asked the junior one, her how are you ,what of your sister? She frowned and said I don't know! I felt her sis must have offended her. Later one boy told me the girl said she did not like me asking about her sister, after all the sister had a boyfriend and she ( the junior)loved me.
Guys I was shocked beyond belief,I was 25 at the time. So some of these small girls can be dangerous.

I said you should rest this matter, there is a place for history lessons. That is why book have been written. Nigeria is full of injustice that is why no matter how comfortable I am ,I can never be comfortable seeing the condition of my fellow countrymen.
Take note the enemy is not Efik, Igbo ,yoruba or Hausa. The enemy is the cabal whose members come from all these tribes and thier interest is in thier own pocket and families. If you read my earlier post you will see I said this Eze Igbo man has a personal agenda. If the people become wise it is dangerouse for this group of people( no more government awoof). So they need to knock the head of the poor and simple masses for thier personal gain .
This has been a great part of Nigeria and Africa.
Do you think the warlord of Ibadan Adedibu will be so powerful if he did not have a lot of illitrate and poor people to manipulate. So rest my bros.

Adcoline rest this matter .I like to deal with facts.I stated two facts earlier and I will repeat them not to whip up sentiments but make you understand.
1.Calabar people (also Akwa Ibom ,and other South South states ) had a rough time under the Igbos in Biafra. These people who experienced these things are still alive and have not completely forgotten. If you ask these old folks ,they always say if you are going to be a slave, better be a slave to a hausa man than an Igbo.they don,t say this because they were born that way. It is due to their experiences, this is not a forum for history lessons(as against sentimental talk).Go do some unbiased research .
2. Ask anybody you know how tribalistic or discriminatory calabar people are, and if the consensus is that they are ,I will bow to such popular opinion(confident though you will not hear such).
People can become oversensitive if they have been hurt before ,like i said its a storm in a tea cup
Politics / Re: Why would obong of calabar try to stop the eze ndi igbo of calabar by samsilo(m): 8:17pm On Apr 16, 2007
Someone asked what is Obong ,Eze ndigbo and so on? I know its a bit of a storm in a tea cup. Chief Ezenwanyi has been one of the most prominent businessmen in calabar for a long time.He was my late fathers associate and at a point owned a construction company.
The fact is the man has fallen into some hard times recently and this is his way of raising his profile as a former government contractor. The problem here is that as someone pointed out most of the people in the south south are still very sensitive to perceived Igbo imperialism which arose from the civil war.
For the igbos who may not understand this, you may want to do some honest research, though born after the war I grew up hearing tales of Igbo oppression during the few months biafra lasted . This caused the people of the south south to rebel against the idea of Biafra. But make no mistake about the fact that the motivation for this is government
patronage not love or hate of Igbos in Calabar.
Calabar people are the most accommodating people you can find in Nigeria, ask any outsider living there.Speak the language or marry from there ,no one really bothers where you come from.
Toshmann , London Cool ,Muchababe eyen Efik efen odu mi o. Efana Calabar tutu ke ebiet emi.

Politics / Re: Atiku To Contest In 2007 Presidential Election - Supreme Court by samsilo(m): 5:30pm On Apr 16, 2007
Some people need to understand that one of our biggest problems has been lack of due process. Most Nigerians will never vote for Atiku ,but like me support his various court cases. We must have government where everybody is under the law not ruling by MOPOL ,soldiers flogging people and other such barbaric attitudes.
Do you realise the implication of this judgement on the whole electoral process even after Baba Shege is gone?
Those calling Atiku a thief(which I know he is) and convict, which court convicted him. He may be corrupt but this matter should never have been handled in the small minded and childish way it has been angry
Politics / Re: Police Get 1000 Jeeps For Elections by samsilo(m): 11:48am On Apr 14, 2007
This is what I mean ,when you talk of Canada, little drops of water make a mighty ocean. 1000 cars is not much,in Britain the police use 5 series BMWs, Mercedes,Range Rover ,Jaguars etc but the budget for the Metropolitan police force is about 12billion pounds per year($21 billion). Compare that with our famous national reserve of $40 billion.
It is this attitude of it is not much that breeds corruption and waste in Nigeria, have you ever seen a mob in action. Every body just wants to give the thief only one slap and the guy ends up dead from many one slaps.
Many of this kinds of decisions are what keeps our dear country on its knees because the inderlying reason is personal gain not the public good.
Politics / Re: Police Get 1000 Jeeps For Elections by samsilo(m): 1:19am On Apr 14, 2007
Debosky do you know it was 200 hundred years ago the whites decided to stop buying and selling Africans as slaves mostly because it was uneconomical .They were able to carry on this trade because of the ignorance of Africans.
We need to get educated ,this forum is too small but i will try. Where are these cars made, how expensive are the spare parts? How do governments raise money(tax , custom duties .not only oil revenues). Which country even the richest ones arbitrarily waive custom duties or fall for such gimmicks.
Here in London you go to shops and they say today this thing is buy one get one free, this is simple marketing strategy, you will always pay for other thing apart from the buy one get one free that brought you to the store.
To cut the story short the fraud is carried out against Nigeria by the car manufacturers using Coscharis as an agent.
But in the spirit of fake drug manufacturers, OO BUSINESS Ko Bu. grin
Family / Re: How Did Your Husband Propose? by samsilo(m): 12:57am On Apr 14, 2007
Ladies check this .If a Nigerian man is not into Mills&Boom(or is it Boon) or watching foreign movies where do you think he will get the idea of romantic dinner and the bended knee proposal. Why the question of seeing your parents comes in is because in our culture the marriage contract is seen as a very different matter from what the whites do, which is basically a continuation of the romantic and often not very meaningful(divorce after 6 months etc.) things the couple do. The Naija guy probably would have discussed it with his parents ,family ,friends etc about the serious step he was about to take. By this time the woman would have got to know what was going down , any formal act on bended knees would not really come as such a wonderful oooh aaahhh moment.
But for this day and age it is nice for a guy to propose, it makes the ladies feel good. I for one had never asked a girl out and I dated quite a number until many years ago one girl made a big issue of the fact that I never toasted her i.e asked her to be my girl friend .Funny thing was she came to spend a weekend at my house and started this matter after some serious action.
From then I changed my moves ,unfortunately this also included having to learn to tell someone it was over instead of letting things die out as i used to.
Computers / Re: Dirty Pictures On Office Computers by samsilo(m): 12:22am On Apr 14, 2007
Thats because most companies here in UK will warn you about visiting porn sites and down loading porn. You would get sacked, and possibly arrested if its child porn even if it is in your own home and someone tipped off the police.
For companies they know these pictures usually contain viruseswhich can crash not only the PC but thier server.
A cousin on a visit from Niaja on a visit almost wrecked my computer because of porn it took me 2 days to sort it out.
Family / Re: Is Marital Love Depreciative In Nature? by samsilo(m): 12:10am On Apr 14, 2007
I have found the key to happines is understanding what is ,and why it is. My uncle once told my cousin someting when he heard his girlfriend moved into his house. He said "friendship is sweet on a visiting basis"(in my language).
What this simply means is move into the same house with your best friend and you will see how difficult it can be if you did not understand each other very well. Not to talk of someone you did not know very well. Being in love does some thing,it makes you see the other person through a fog which unfortunately tends to clear.
When that hot love starts to clear and there is nothing to replace it, boooom. Most couples even after long courtship may not know each other very well mostly because both the guy and the woman are trying to show thier best side , when they come to live together unless they try to be very accommodating and understanding they start getting on each others nerves. This is worsened if they also don't work on keeping the bedroom action hot.
If these things come together with the stress of having to bring up children, love goes out the window and the fireworks begin.
Understanding ,accommodation, companionship, sharing, caring and good sex keeps the fire burning.Thats my view.
Politics / Re: Police Get 1000 Jeeps For Elections by samsilo(m): 9:22pm On Apr 13, 2007
If this is true, it shows the type of foolishness that will not allow Nigeria to progress.Even if the cars are being "loaned" to the police for the elections. The mere fact that they are imported duty free is a fraud. For vehicles like these the import duty I believe is 50% of the price or more.Even if these vehicles are damaged (trust police drivers) the importer will not loose out.the second added benefit is the cars will be sold to BABA's friends and associates (PDP).
Bottomline- selfish and ignorant people in government.
I am sorry to say ,except we get leaders with vision who are not selfish ,the price of oil can rise to $200 a barrel and things will remain the same.
Thats why I checked out!
