My brother , the more we learn to tell the truth to ourselves and other , the better it is for us . Saudi Arabia hardly gives visas to non Muslims , they only do visas for business and Hajj visitors . Tourist and student visas which are the most commonlys used by most people to travel are hardly ever issued . It therefore follows that most of the foreigners in Saudi Arabia will be muslims and if Nigerians choose to jones themselves there , it will be only Muslims .

Chipink:

These are list of YORUBAS In saudi Arabia prison about to be beheaded for pushing drugs,

Or should we talk about 3 yorubas boys that was locked up in U. S prison for involving in credit card fraud,
I guess those ones are not "giving nigeria bad name"

Like some one mentions earlier some idiots will shoot in the air not realizing the bullets will come down . Saw a similar thing some years ago when I worked at UCTH . A student sat studying in his room in town at night . said he thought an insect bit him but next thing , he saw blood . Turned out to be almost like this boy , a rifle bullet which luckily has slowed down a lot was found lodged in the side of his neck . It had broken the zinc roof and made a hole in the ceiling board .
The fool who fired the gun would be more than a mile away not knowing what they had done

HigherEd:
Freeze is an agent of the devil sent to attack the most vital feature of a believer which is Faith. Freeze wants you to be logical with your faith. He wants to move you into the realm where God cannot function which is the realm of logic and reason.

Fortunately, Logic doesn't cut with God. If you must be a believer in Jesus then you must first understand that logic and reason are anti faith. You must be able to wear the garment of faith while putting off the garment of intellect.

So when Isiah 1:18 said 'come let us reason together' it was attacking faith . Apostle Paul who was preaching especially to the Romans appealing to their sense of reason to understand the word of God which is full of logical reasoning was also anti faith, You want to replace that with chaos , made up facts and whatever catches your fancy in the name of faith??
A lot of Nigerians are practicing some sort of Voodoo as they do in the Caribbeans with traces of Christian doctrine mixed in it .

Ignorance is not good at all . All this people saying yeye or hard drugs . Sam Smith and Adele (if don't know them please google ) big international stars that had surgery for vocal cord damage were doing smoking drugs too abi? Someone mentioned Pasuma , Davido etc , it is due to singing high notes which those ones don't . It is worse if the high notes are not in the range of your usual singing or talking range .

Even Wizkid? shocked
Yes ! Even Wizkid , somehow the guy has got himself into the most popular young UK R&B and rap artists . These are the people whose music is played all the time. I have heard him on at least 5 stars songs and I don't mean a few lines like Wizkid on Drakes songs .
This is an example.

His uncle. for those saying Nigerian money . I know this guy from when his father's office was a bungalow in Port Harcourt . They worked extremely hard and it was the delibrate policy of the federal govt to encourage local cotractors that helped them break through. Completely private sector so nothing to do with govt money for those mentioning Nigeria's money.
If you know how much money is spent by Shell , Mobil , Chevron etc on contractors in dollars daily , you would know how far.

Modern government is still unclear to us Africans and Nigeria in particular . In 1086 , King William the conqueror ordered a survey of England . Please read about the Domesday book .
They sent out people to record who owned every piece of land and who owned cattle sheep or other economic assets in the whole country . Just Imagine the year 1086 !!
They did it successfully and placed a tax on every one to pay based on what you owned to the governemnt . Till today , it is very hard to dodge that system and that is where the govenrment's money comes from , not oil or gold or anything , just Tax.

Don't fret OP,it's pressure or bed sore it's just that you guys didn't know and kept him on his back for long reducing blood flow to the area causing it to ulcerate to become a sore and that rubber mackintosh is not helping..start first by getting a cotton bedsheet you lay it without crease to avoid friction on the skin, get a nurse to be doing daily dressing if you guys can't go to the hospital, any time he poos or pees use water to clean the area so it won't further contaminate the area and continue using the powder I saw it's good or use vaseline jelly after bathing him daily..then make sure you turn him like 4hrly to increase blood flow to all the areas

Very sound , well informed and calm comment unlike lots who rush to just write something . It is so sad our practice of medicine is still so backward that the doctors will not admit to OP that they have exceeded their level of competence . My father died in a teaching hospital after some weeks almost 20 years ago of symptoms which went on for months , today I could investigate and diagnose them in 2 weeks max.
The main problem here from OP's write up would seem to be the prostate cancer , anyone who is weak and not moving a lot will almost certainly develop a pressure ulcer. I have seen a few that went deep to the level of the bone but with simple nursing as advised (Clean dressings and keep turning ) they heal surprisingly .
The biggest challenge would be the cancer( I have known people who lived for 15 - 20 years) with well managed prostate cancer

I am sad I just saw thus thread now . Knowing most Nigerians especially women tend to feel embarrassed about discussing body parts.
@ Op , the most likely reason is a condition known as BACTERIAL VAGINOSIS (BV)
It is infection of the vagina by Gardenella Vaginalis and some other common bacteria . It is not a sexually transmitted condition , thought to be encouraged by a change in the Vaginal PH .
Excessive attempts to wash down below and sexual intercourse can be a contributory factor . It is very common in sexually active women but even virgins can get it . Some women will get this once or twice a year
Treatment is simple 5 days of a very common and cheap antibiotic
Please see a doctor and thank me later grin

Car Talk / Re: How Do I Know That My Car Is Due For Oil Change? by samsilo(m): 9:53am On Oct 12, 2016
The frequency I used t change oil in Nigeria is now amusing to me . Back then I changed oil in my old 504(hand me down car) every 2 months . Since I have been living in the UK , Oli change is standard , once a year or 10,000 miles grin grin.
I yhink part of the problem is that a lot of the oil sold in Nigeria may not be good quality, there has never been any ambiguity at any service garages .
Interestingly BMW and Minis use long life oil and thier standard service interval here is 2 years!!
Politics / Re: One Of The 114 New Roads Commissioned By Governor Ambode Is In Bad Shape by samsilo(m): 8:53am On Sep 29, 2016
I do not understand what our problem as a country is some times . That road failed not because of rainy season as someone suggested but poor construction . It would have been better to construct 30 roads with the same money that would last than the rubbish I just saw .
2 roads have been constructed close to where I live in the UK , I noticed they put down a plastic film first , at least one 2 feet of crushed rock topped with at least one foot of Asphalt .
This is for a street within town, not a highway .
How will this road fail in the next 20 years ?
The way they make the roads , it is designed such that the top 10cm of Asphalt is softer , when that developes pot holes , it does not go through the harder layer . This top layer is routinely scrapped off and a new layer put on maybe every 10-20 years .
We have a long way to go my people .

A little google search today confirmed the same story .
MARIA UDE NWACHI is the same person as ARIANNA UZO EGWU deported for running a prostitution ring in America .

Please my people , in my 21 years of practicing medicine , I have not come across any cure in my experience or research for a cold .
Septrin is a fairly common cause of Steven Johnson syndrome as well as Fansidar which is why in most developed countries they are rarely used . It is nothing to self medication as many have stated here but it is an unpredictable reaction which can happen at any time .
The worst part is that these lesions can affect the skin lining the mouth , gullet etc in the same way

Politics / Re: Herdsmen: Full Text Of Buhari's Order to Bring Them To Justice by samsilo(m): 10:34am On Apr 28, 2016
LRNZH:
Unfortunately, the 'Fulani herdsmen' issue has been around since OBJs government as I remember. That was when the grading reserve bill reared its head.

The issue is that the Fulani's have been migrating further south due to the encroachment of the Sahara desert over the years. Their gradual southward migration has led to more interaction with farming tribes of the middle belt and southern Nigeria and with this comes violence as they struggle to grab more land for their cattle. Some don't even return to the north anymore.

The issue like many of Nigeria's issue is a complex one and needs both short and long term solutions. Just like corruption, Boko Haram, Niger Delta militancy, fuel scarcity, lack of electricity, unemployment, herdsmen attacks are all symptoms of a non functional country.

I await to see how the current government will address the issue on the long run because unleashing soldiers on the hersdsmen is a short term solution (same for Niger Delta militancy and Boko Haram). That won't be enough.

As for OP, he is just reacting emotionally to an issue that requires a lot of level headed thinking. Any political analyste worth his weight knows that supporting PDP or APC is not even the issue here. Buhari's reaction if you're following the developments now is even swifter than GEJ against Boko Haram calling them his brothers. More people were dying daily that period

Two wrongs cannot be mutually justified and no death from violence can ever be proven worthy so partisanship is not what we should be taking about.

We should be focused on how to get to a mlre feasile solution. I'm my head, don't see how the grazing reserve wil work unless the 19 northern states come.together and agree on how to manage the reserves with staes have the final eight to opt-in or out of the reserves.

Such optional reserves will force the Fulani to become less nomadic and more domesticated thereby increasing the likelihood that he will look into alternative means of growing feed for his cattle. That should should lead to better interactions with Farmers who can sell him hay or feedstock and to modernisation of cattle rearing practises.

Just like the oil spills in the ND, soil erosion in the SE, the desertification of the North is a disaster that needs to be tackled.

Others may have better ideas. Please bring them on. APC vs PDP is not the solution.

As others have pointed out , posts like this shows that there are some intellectuals on this forum . I believe there is hope for Nigeria if the self centered and immediate result crew can be side lined . This will enable reasonable poeple to come forward and offer solutions to our problems .
Thanks

Politics / Re: Biafra Protest Rages In South East, Group Vows To Shut Down Aba on Monday - SUN by samsilo(m): 10:46pm On Nov 08, 2015
At the moment I feel very sad for Nigeria in general and Ibos in particular . Rather than join hands and achieve the potentials of this country with immense human and materiel resources , some people are busy displaying massive amounts of hate and prejudiced behavior towards each other .
I thought initially the spats between the 'Yeebos " , 'Yolobas' , ' name checkers' etc was funny . unfortunately it is quickly descending into something that is causing me to think seriously of the exit of my close family when a Syria situation starts in that country.
From my experience while growing up in Calabar and Uyo (my parents come from both states ) I have to advice my Ibo brothers that it would take all adults in those 2 states who lived through the Civil war to either die out , become senile or become deaf before their descendants would join in something called Biafra .
You always speak of the war crimes at Asaba , go to Eket and Oron areas and ask them what the Biafran army did there before running away .
Go and ask what the Biafran army did to people before retreating where rather than accept that they were outgunned , they killed people for causing their defeat as 'Saboteurs'.
Ask people in those areas to tell you about how boastful and deceitful the Biafran propaganda machine ( convincing people with sticks and mactetes to go against the Nigerian Army in Enugu sector of the war was before you waste your youth and future generations .

Conflict brings no good .
A word is enough for the wise

I often feel like shedding tears when I read the sort of comments I see here . You say Nigeria is rich ??
What is the GDP per capita of Nigeria (less than $6000) , compare with developed countries
How many citizens have access to healthcare clean water or electricity .
I work in healthcare and can tell you many hospitals in the UK have annual budgets close £100 million (please convert to naira)
The fact that the countries wealth is in the hands of less than 5% of the population who live in the cities and can afford a life of luxury seems to fool a lot of us into believing Nigeria is rich

I have never commented on the threads about elctions in NIgeria . I left the country 10 years ago when I realised that nothing will change in Nigeria in the lifetime of my children . Maybe in my grandchildrens time .
For now , all the rent takers and those whose interest is to live like billionaires without working for it will keep control of the country .
They will rely on people whose level of reasoning and intelligence makes the producers of Nollywood movies rich , and continue to drink salt water to cure ebola .
This is because they lack the intellect to ditance themselves from primordial sentiments like tribalism and nepotism .
These poeple will forever be used by the 'wise men who funny enough are from different tribes and all parts of Nigeria .

These are the poeple who are most scared of a president (a position that controls incredible resources and the capacity to provide them 'chop' ) falling into the hands of someone who will not play ball and allow the game to continue .
These poeple including Tompolo will continue using the brains of the second lot i.e. the gullible masses for at least 50 years to come .
