Romance / Re: Why Do Naija Girls Like To Date Guys That Are Abroad? by samsilo(m): 11:56pm On May 02, 2007
Thats usually the problem with people living abroad, too much effizy. I find that telling it as it is earns recpect and reduces unreasonable expectations.
Those who get a babe by false pretence usually end up with very similar stories,i.e." she came here and her eye come tear"
Long time sis, I've been absent for a while.

@Babyo. They usually don't know about the yellow cabsoo!
I think this matter mainly refers to Babes back in Naija, a few (tens of ) dollars goes a long way to impress them.

Food / Re: What Do Think About Suya ? by samsilo(m): 6:59pm On Apr 28, 2007
SUYA! I can smell it now. That stuff is addictive and I don't know why no barbecue anywhere in the world can taste like Suya .
I was lucky I grew up less than a kilometre from sabon Gari in Calabar so we used to finish our pocket money on suya, plain suya, kulikuli coated suya, kidney, liver, and ram suya. Ate so much of the stuff I got fed up with it. Still miss it though, and had an annoying experience once when 2000 naira worth of suya was impounded from me at Dublin airport in 2003.
Romance / Re: 3 Years Together And I'm Not Feeling Him Anymore by samsilo(m): 4:03pm On Apr 28, 2007
@Halleberry
First step, let him know how you feel and why. He will either wake up and try to win you back or get mad.
Either way your problem will be solved because you will either get to love him again or things will fall apart completely.
What you are going through is quite common in relationships.
Best of luck girl

Romance / Re: My Parents Do Not Agree With My Relationship With A Jamaican Woman by samsilo(m): 3:40am On Apr 28, 2007
Marriage is a totally personal thing. The only thing is you have to know why you want to get married. If it's love ,I have personally loved girls my clear thinking mind told me I could never live with.
If you can visualize living with this girl the next 30 years then go ahead. I personally don't get this different culture shit. I f your girl respects you she will respect your culture. Some one once pointed out the fact that if an Asian(Indian or Pakistani) marries a white woman ,she would tend to conform to her husbands culture. But in the case of black guys or Africans , we just let go and let the woman set the pace.
Your parents may be worried about the woman not understanding their culture, set them right and your wife to be. I am sure they will also not want their son to get divorced after 5 years, you have to check this one for yourself.
If you were born in the UK don't try that imported wife thing ,you will regret it.
Career / Re: Can You Employ Your GirlFriend? by samsilo(m): 1:24am On Apr 28, 2007
Starting a business with your girlfriend as partner is a better than employing her. The outcome of employing your girlfriend , brother or any one close to you especially in a small business I think is entirely subject to your will power.
You should look at yourself, do you have the guts to deal with situations that may need you to take rational decisions leaving out your feelings.
I know some business men for whom such relationships end at the door to the office and that's the only way things can work. Also there is the possibility your relationship may end while she is working for you and a lot of people find that hard to deal with. so be prepared and possibly discuss these issues with her before you employ her

Jbuoy, Gaylord has spoken his mind, to each his own. I have lived here for 2 years and nothing concern me with oyibo babes. A lot of them are are very nice people but I have come to learn that black or white it is the personality that matters.
I a guy feels like experimenting ,make him try.

Romance / Re: How To Toast White Girls In London? by samsilo(m): 6:39pm On Apr 27, 2007
Attitude , confidence,your language(speech),the way you dress .
All these matter more than the place ,I have chatted with many white girls on the street, bus stops ,shops etc and I think being relaxed and not seeming to play for something made them feel relaxed about me too.
Also I will agree that white girls outside London are more relaxed ,in fact keen to date black guys .
It may be your dream to date white girls but you need to relax, it will help you to achieve your dream. And no need to lie.
No be naija be dis!

Romance / Re: 15 Secrets To Make Your Girlfriend Fall In Love With You Forever! by samsilo(m): 2:14pm On Apr 26, 2007
Your list long sha, but knowing women you are just starting.
I will add two very crucial items,
15 . this should probably be No. 1 or 2 . Regular and satisfactory sex.
16. Never relax, i.e.be very very sensitiveto her feelings. Most women are so temperamental, moody, call it
whatever you like . From my experience even women that feel they know themselves or are very changeable in their attitudes and feelings. So if you relax and think you've got her figured you will soon run into trouble .

Xtcod, with all this education it has done nothing to your tribalism! Anyway I came to find that there are thousands of Nigerians who have lived abroad for 20 years and more and their mentality has not changed one bit sad sad

I am still asking , what started this hatred?
Politics / Re: Nigeria's Image Was Badly Damaged On Oprah Today! by samsilo(m): 7:09pm On Apr 25, 2007
I have said my piece about this topic earlier in the thread so I won't repeat myself. lipsrsealed
But I would like to ask ,I know that prejudice against other people usually has a historical perspective apart from the insecurity and lack of self esteem that propagates it( eg racism)
Does anybody know the historical background of the animosity between Igbos and Yorubas.
Please this is a serious request seeing that the thread has drifted from the topic to a tribal war cry

We are now helping to furter damage the image of our beloved country on the net cry cry cry
Politics / Re: FG To Name Ribadu New Police IG! by samsilo(m): 6:53pm On Apr 25, 2007
Initiate, nobody is glorifying Ribadu ,I like people to face facts and be rational .I don't know how old you are or how much history you know.
Up till 1999 no "BIGMAN" in Nigeria ever had to answer questions about corruption except the brief stint of Buhari's govt.
Today because of the anti corruption movement even Baba Shege is being accused.
Who born you to talk like that about Oga in Abacha's time.
It has to start from some where ,SELECTIVE or not!

I have been saying ,what ever process brings in Yar'adua in as president fair or not.I do not believe the man will change overnight at his age just as Obj was unable to change his stubborn ,undemocratic character.
What I see coming in the next few years for highly corrupt politicians is a very tough time indeed.Look at Abubakar Audu who thought he was free,or is it almighty Tafa Balogun.
Ibori, Odili, Attah and co have it coming, let the election wahala settle first. This is is just as they say Rome was not built in a day.
The fight to Rid Nigeria of blatant corruption must start somewhere, SELECTIVE or not
