Emmerson Mnangagwa, the former Zimbabwean vice president, who was sacked by Robert Mugabe, would be sworn in as the new president today to replace Mr. Mugabe who resigned on Tuesday afternoon after 37-years in office.

The 75-year-old was removed from office and exiled 13 days after Mugabe accused him of disloyalty and insubordination. Mugabe had reportedly taken the action to pave way for his wife, Grace, to emerge as the new leader of ruling Zanu-PF ahead of the country’s general election next year.

Mnangagwa is said to be popular amongst the powerful War Veterans group and the Zimbabwean military chiefs and he'll over see a democratic election come 2018.

A father who lost one of his sons in a house fire has described how he ran through flames in a desperate bid to save him.

Nathan Perry, 34, woke up to a flickering light and the smell of smoke, and immediately realised there was a fire. He rushed to the bedroom where his two sons were sleeping, to try and pull them to safety.


‘I had to run through the flames and drag the children out. I did what I could,’ he told 9 News. All three were taken to hospital, but tragically his son Blade, 4, did not recover and they had to switch off his life support. ‘I feel like I failed because Blade didn’t make it,’ Nathan said.
Their mum Tamika Frid drove through the night to be with them at the hospital after hearing what happened at the home in Weranga, Australia, on Tuesday.

‘It was the worst day of my life,’ she told the channel.

A woman has confessed to police that she drowned four babies in concrete-filled buckets because she was too poor to look after them.

Mayumi Saito, 53, handed her self in two decades after killing the babies, telling them she had felt guilt for not caring for them.


She was arrested today on charges of abandoning bodies, a day after she went to Osaka police station to admit what she had done. A police official said human bones were identified in buckets found in her condominium. Saito was quoted by police as saying she put the bodies into concrete from 1992 through 1997 because she had been too poor to raise them, but she had been filled with guilt.

The police official requested anonymity due to department policy. Saito had a part-time job, but details of her work and family were not available.

The causes of the babies’ deaths were unclear.

It is fairly standard in Japan for criminal charges to be added later as an investigation progresses. Although Japan is the world’s third-largest economy and has a reputation as being economically advanced, poverty remains a problem, especially among women.

Social support such as affordable daycare is lacking for women to work while child-rearing, as well as to get counseling and other help to cope with parenting duties and mental stress. Japanese media reports quoted the woman as saying she had no one to talk to or turn to.

An old woman got her head stuck in the doors of a New York City subway car and no one did anything to help her. People can be seen in the video, looking at the woman before finally ignoring her to get on their way. No one attempted to help her or to even go close enough to offer words of comfort. According to reports, the woman was later rescued by subway workers.

An Atlanta rapper and his cousin who went missing two weeks ago have been found dead.

The bodies of Edward Reeves, whose stage name is Bambino Gold, 28, right, and his cousin Kendrick Stokes were found in a wooded area in Macon County, Alabama, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

The first body was discovered in a wooded area off County Road 13, while the second body was found in the woods off Highway 80, about 4 miles from where the first body was found.

The pair went missing after they left on the 5th of November for Montgomery.

Rumors have it that drugs were involved in their deaths, while others say an ex-girlfriend of Bambino Gold’s set him up to be killed for cheating on her. The woman’s previous ex-boyfriend equally met the same fate after he cheated on her with another lady.

The Alabama Bureau of Investigation is presently handly the case, WTVM reported.

Bambino who has collaborated with rapper Lil Boosie, is best known for the 2006 hit, “Wipe Me Down.”

A paedophile who travelled from Glasgow to Luton with a cuddly toy and condoms expecting to rape an eight-year-old girl has been jailed for 10 years.

Robert Burns, 48, believed he had been exchanging explicit messages with the child’s mother via a child abuse website based in Russia. But Luton crown court was told that he was caught in a police operation.

He had been involved in graphic on-line exchanges in which he said he liked girls aged 9 to 12 and thought that a youngster would be provided for him.

When Burns, who had been a chef, arrived by coach at Luton airport on Friday June 30 this year, having travelled 370 miles to meet the girl, he was arrested.

Prosecutor Martin Mulgrew said that when his belongings were searched officers found 48 condoms, a cuddly toy, a jewellery box, a money box, two dolls and a Valentine cracker containing dare dice to be used in a sex game. Children’s toys were also found in his Glasgow flat when that was searched.

For 37 years, Robert Mugabe had a tight grip on power in Zimbabwe and refused to step down until he was detained by the military early this week and his former vice president was made the interim president.

Over the 37 years that he was president, Mugabe was accused of a lot, including genocide and embezzling public funds, while impoverishing his people. The wealth amassed during that period was able to get him a 25-bedroom mansion in Borrowdale, an affluent suburb of Zimbabwe’s capital Harare. A company named Cinderella Escorts claims to have a new way for women to pay for college. The company helps the girls auction their virginity so they can pay for their college education.

An Indian woman who suffered an acid attack that left her with horrific burns to her face and blind in both eyes has found the love of her life from her hospital bed.

At age 15, Pramodini Roul was bathed with acid by a paramilitary soldier on a bike because she rejected his marriage proposal. She was returning from taking an exam with her cousin when the 28-year-old man doused her with the corrosive element, melting away her face.


The survivor, who is fondly called Rani or "Queen" by her family, spent four months in ICU immediately after the incident and later was bedridden for four years at her house in Odisha in eastern India while her widowed mother took care of her alone, bandaging her wounds. She suffered pain for almost 10 years, undergoing five reconstructive surgeries including one to correct vision in her left eye by some degree. She also suffered depression throughout these years but she has now found a reason to smile again.

Now 25, Rani has found a boyfriend, Saroj Kumar Sahoo, who she says has given her a reason to live happily. The two met while Rani was in hospital and have been living together for a year in New Delhi and are now planning to get married.

Rani says: "Saroj really treats me like a queen. He loves me like the way I am. He always encourages me to live life happily. He has become a part of me. I would not have been able to see the world today if I did not have him in my life. I feel very lucky to have him. He is very understanding and is always there for me. It always feels good to be loved and be assured of having a partner who loves and recognizes the goodness in you."

They met in March 2014 at a private hospital where she was admitted for the treatment for the pus-filled infection that had ravaged her legs. The skin from her legs was used for grafting but untimely discharge from the hospital caused infection in her half treated wounds that began secreting pus. Doctors told her mother Rani would need at least four years before she can walk again.

Saroj was a friend of the nurse who was looking after Rani and was on a regular visit to the hospital when he saw Rani's mother crying helplessly so he extended his support.

Rani said: "We met in March 2014 when he had come with his friends to visit the hospital. Initially, we didn't speak to each other, even though he had seen me. However, after around 15 days he started to speak to me. He would often visit the hospital. I believe he saw my mother and observed her and then slowly started extending helping hands. She would always come alone for my physiotherapy.

"One day he heard my mother ask about my improvement and how long would it take for me to recover as my lower body had by then deteriorated. I could not even move without help, let alone stand on my feet. The reply wasn't very positive as the doctors said that it would take at least four years for me to be able to walk. My mother naturally broke down when she heard that. That is when Saroj consoled her and assured her that he would do everything possible to get me walking."

The 26-year-old started visiting Rani everyday to boost her morale. He eventually quit his job and spent eight hours a day to look after Rani. Rani saw Saroj for this first time this September after she had undergone the first surgery in her left eye. She says she had fallen for his charms long before she saw his face for the first time.


Rani and Saroj have been accepted by both their families and they are waiting to get further reconstructive surgeries before they get married.

Meanwhile, her attacker Santosh Kumar Bedant went free. He was not even arrested at all because the police were allegedly bribed. The attacker even offered to marry Rani after the attack and called her until 2013. He is a married man with a son and there is no case against him that Rani can pursue but she is still hoping he'll one day get arrested.

Confirming the development, the joint-chairmen issued a statement that reads, 'It is with disappointment and heavy hearts that we have made the decision to relieve Slaven Bilic of his duties as West Ham United manager. Since joining the Club in the summer of 2015, Slaven has conducted himself throughout with honesty and integrity, and shown great determination and commitment to the role.


In his first season - our final campaign at the Boleyn Ground - he led the team to a memorable finish that no Hammers fan will ever forget, and gave us a 3-2 victory against Manchester United in our final home game there that will go down in West Ham United history.

During the summer, the Board invested heavily signing the players Slaven believed would complete the squad he needed to push the Club back towards the level we had reached in his first season, and we believe we have the players capable of doing that.

Sadly, performances and results have not been of the expected standard and, in recent weeks, we have not seen enough indication of the required improvement to give us the encouragement that things would change and we would meet our Premier League aspirations this season.

As custodians of the Football Club it is our responsibility as a Board to do what is best for West Ham United, and we believe a change is now necessary to ensure we can begin to move the team back in the right direction.

We see this as an exciting opportunity to appoint a quality manager to the position to inject fresh ideas, organisation and enthusiasm into a very talented squad. A student at the University of Hartford in Connecticut was charged with criminal mischief and expelled from school after boasting about having contaminated her roommate’s toothbrush, face lotion and other belongings in an effort to drive her from the room. NYC Times reports.


The student, Brianna Brochu, 18, was in court on Wednesday for charges that originated with an Instagram post in which she said that she had finally accomplished what had apparently been a long-held goal: ridding herself of her dorm roommate, Chennel Rowe, whom she referred to as “Jamaican Barbie.”
“After one and a half months spitting in her coconut oil, putting moldy clam dip in her lotions, rubbing used tampons on her backpack, putting her toothbrush places where the sun doesn’t shine, and so much more, I can finally say goodbye to Jamaican Barbie,” said the post, which has since been deleted. Ms. Brochu is white; Ms. Rowe is black.
Lt. Michael Perruccio of the West Hartford Police Department said that the police began investigating the report on Oct. 18 and that Ms. Brochu turned herself in on Saturday.

On Wednesday, the police department said it would be requesting that Ms. Brochu be charged with intimidation based on bigotry or bias, a felony.

The university announced that she was no longer a student there. “As of this morning, Brianna Brochu is no longer a student at the University of Hartford,” said the school’s president, Gregory S. Woodward. “She will not be returning to the institution.”

Sayfullo Saipov, 29, reportedly left notes written in Arabic along with a picture of the ISIS flag in the rental truck that he used to mow down innocent bystanders. The notes were found by investigators after his attack and its contents indicate he pledged loyalty to the terrorist group.

A photo footage has been going viral on social media, which shows a woman parading around her office naked, said to boost her workers morale.

Malam Musa Mohammed, a 43-year-old man has been arrested by the Rights Protection Agency in Niger State for setting his 15-year-old son, Bello Musa, ablaze.

Mrs Mairam Kolo, the Director-General of the agency confirmed the incident saying it occurred around Polytechnic Road, Bida, in Bida Local Government Area of the state.

She explained that Musa tied the victim up and siphoned petrol from his motorcycle, poured it on the victim and set him on fire because of his alleged frequent quarrels with his elder brother.

According to her, the quick intervention of neighbours helped save the victim from being burnt to death. She said the victim is receiving treatment at Umaru Ndayako General Hospital, Bida. Earlier, the father begged for mercy, saying he committed the offence out of anger.

A 14-year-old Russian model has died after suffering from "utter exhaustion" during a three month modeling assignment in China. Vlada Dzyuba collapsed and slipped into a coma after a grueling 12-hour fashion show in Shanghai.

Sadly, she never regained consciousness and died two days later. She was found to be suffering from chronic meningitis.

The teen was allegedly on a "slave labor" contract and had been too afraid to seek medical treatment when she got too sick. Officially she was only allowed to work three hours a week.

The Siberian Times reports that the girl's temperature soared moments before she was set to go out on the catwalk for the fashion show.


Her devastated mother Oksana said:
"She was calling me, saying 'Mama, I am so tired. I so much want to sleep'. "It must have been the very beginning of the illness. And then her temperature shot up.
"I didn't sleep myself and was calling her constantly, begging her to go to hospital."
She had been trying to get a visa to fly out to be with her young daughter before she heard the news of death.

The head of the Perm modelling agency behind her trip, Elvira Zaitseva, said:
"No-one expected it to lead to such consequences. "We are now reaping what we have sown."
She admitted not checking Vlada's contract and if she had proper medical insurance.

A number of young Russian models are recruited to China, but Vlada's tragic case has raised concerns over working conditions for the models and how they can be exploited.

Moscow is set to demand an explanation over the conditions Vlada was living in during her time working in Asia.

A Nigerian man, Charles Ojieh, and his wife have welcomed a set of triplets after 11 years of marriage. Their friend, Ross Alabo-George, who shared their story online, said that people were speechless and couldn't believe that such miracle still exit.
