pacino26: Yea true, but the cost of change. Especially proactive planning can be very expensive.
Case study;
I hail from one of the privileged towns in Enugu where a thing man can make two million selling a plot or less with more property lying in waste. Since August 2015 after series of talks before then I had to retire early from my active job to organise and set up a youth progressive. It is still a work in progress, months down the line I am still dealing with elections and inauguration. I have a youth empowerment scheme in place projected at having 30persons trained in six months with more on various start up businesses. From experience it had not been easy implementing this change but then in ten yrs time I'll have an average of 30 independent millionaires ages within 40yrs. That's planning and not waiting till they all exhaust their properties.
Nigeria as a country politically have been left to bureaucrats and ignorant autocrats the real technocrats are sidelined in policy making and decision taking so the events of today represents a culmination of all past errors.
I'll wake up the youths someday. You are a blessing to your generation... So keep up d good job! That is really how to implement change! The lord is your strength!!! |

pacino26: Spot on. If you get to they office off the DPR to initiate process to set up a refinery they'd give you the paper criteria but to get approval is the real issue. My time in 2013 working seriously on setting up a refinery with some patrons made me realise that Nigeria isn't ready for the word 'PROGRESS'
We keep fooling ourselves, you don't have power CCGP will need to be imported asking with all accessories, steel for interconnecting piping needs to be imported, to make roads heavy earth moving equipment needs to be imported. To set Nigeria on the path of industrialization will take another ten yrs.
As far as I am concerned, there's no proactive plan in place. If we start from somewhere we can make it! |

ireneidiva: People that studied education should teach. Geology, surveying and architects are still available. Even people that studied math and physics. Yes oh! Help me tell them! And this will help universities in opening more departments related to engineering courses! Like petroleum engineering in education, civil engineering in education... And so many more even mechanical engineering in education... They should be studied in four years! And they graduate, they will know that they are going to be teachers and if they want to be real professional engineers... They will have to study a post graduate course for such upgrade! |

MadCow1: Nobody is arguing, you are vexed that you were made to teach and all I am telling you is that there is nothing wrong with that.
NYSC is all about National Service. In some other countries, it's military training.
It may sound good but it's not workable. Bros no be lie... I dey vex! But that's a good news for d up coming Vibrant and intellectual engineers! Guess You know wah am saying? |

MadCow1: Insult me for what?
When you been dey school, some Engineering Corpers taught you as well. I see no problems with Engineering students teaching as long as the student has the skills to impart knowledge.
Nobody read "Teacher" for school as Course.
This new directive can't work. We do not have enough Engineering firms to absorb all the engineering graduates we produce every day. Lolz! Madcow you are talking like one of those that studied education! If you really study in the university, you will see that most schools have students that are studying educationally related courses than any other course! Madcow |

SoNature: I'm sure many of us will hail this news, but we also have to think of its feasibility in many states.
It is not about NYSC and COREN barring them from teaching, but them providing enough Places of Primary Assignment. I'm trying to think of the companies where these engineers will work in states like Katsina, Zamfara, Osun, Kwara, Ebonyi, and Kebbi states.
I'm sure this policy can't work in many states because some states do not have robust private sector-driven economy to absorb these young engineers. That will give d NYSC officials work... That is, by posting less Engineers to states with few engineering industry! And its better to interchange d engineers, that is by posting a civil engineer to an electrical firm than posting him/her to a secondary school. |

Simply that the oil marketers went on strike for their Subsidy arrears since August 2014. Who doesn't know that the outstanding Subsidy payments caused the strike? As in eh Did u guys forget so soon that GEJ has being trying to remove d subsidy to encourage local production? And why will NNPC be importing fuel? All this APC old t'hief no dey SHAME self |

idontaya: Please guys come to my rescue....
This is centered around two female which i do not want to loose but have to select one to marry. Here goes...
I met these ladies around the same period, i asked Labake out and after the initial gra gra she accepted to date me. thing are getting serious now that i had to ask her certain questions... She has been into business for like 6 years and when i asked what was her savings from the biz she said NOTHING. I asked the reason and she said debts and some other excuses. In short she has no savings and told me to my face i am providing all she will be needing in marriage, relocating her shop from one town to where i am and other things even to her sanitary towels! What is annoying me is that have i now offended the gods that i want to marry her and there taking over her liabilities (her body being the only asset)! I do not have a problem meeting these needs but she has to meet up at some point which she cannot do! I just like/love her i dont know why despite these liability.
On the other hand, there is Shalewa, who is more than willing to meet my people, she has a job and even a business. She encourages me to be the best and all other positives. The problem here is that i dont have a feeling for her at all, but i dont want to let go. Mind you we have not had sex even with Labake
Guys please if you were in my shoes what would you do? Who will you take home to mamma. Cos i want to do that this december and wrap up marriage. But i am in a dilemma for nowQ
please advice maturedly You better go with the second one... No be body you go chop later,,, Let love grow! |
