PoliticsRe: Lagos, Ekiti, Seven Others Are Heavy Debtors –FRC by Samxiulee: 12:27pm On Sep 06, 2013
Billyonaire: Lagos State is owing almost 200 billion Naira ? Oh my Gosh, Rossikk was right oh. If you give Tinubu and Fashola access to the Presidency, then these APC guys will plunge Nigeria into blackhole of poverty.
your hypocrisy hold no bounds, you decided to turn a blind eye to Bayelsa a state that earn much more than Lagos?btw the 200 billion naira was guaranteed by the FG,for nothing less than 5 to 10yrs,Lagos can afford to payback 20billion naira every year without blinking an eye from the over 400billion naira she makes every year.At least we can see the roads, the flowers and the rails, please can you point out what Bayelsa is doing with her Loan?
PoliticsRe: Army Five-Star Hotel Under-construction In Enugu by Samxiulee: 12:07pm On Sep 06, 2013
The defence chief could have done better than this, siting a strategic military command like Jaji or another defence academy in the south east would have being better, btw I dnt like the idea of military competing with the private sector.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Is A Disgrace - Asari Dokubo by Samxiulee: 11:14am On Sep 06, 2013
I thought Dokubo is an Ikwere man,not an Ijaw man anyway he should limit his rhetorics to National politics,he shouldn't attract CIA interest with his claims that he will up the price of crude oil by $30,he would be a gonna faster than he can blink.people like him are the ones manufacturing enemies for the president, the president was popular but people around him are making him unpopular.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian 'Yahoo Boys' Scamming Westerners As Far Back As 1949 by Samxiulee: 12:56am On Sep 06, 2013
inikamoze: How could you all believe that piece of lame report??
In 1949,what was the dollar rate to the naira that would pre-empt a Nigerian to want to "scam" a pen-pal of dollars?
In 1949 wasnt Nigeria a 'Paradise" under the British colony?
Didn't parents "telewire" funds from Nigeria to their wards schooling abroad?
How many Nigerians rush abroad for better life if not for educational purposes and to earn a Degree after which they all come back to take up well paying jobs here in Nigeria?
Wasnt the chances of getting a job after the then "Standard 6" high?
Prior to IBB's regime, the dollar exchanged for less than a Naira,it was during IBB's regime that the dollar shot up from less than 80kobo to a dollar to almost a Naira to a Dollar and then it started skyrocketing after IMF "conned" Maradona into unneccesary borrowing and devaluing.
If you say that piece was written during the 90's and happened during the 90's prior to the proliferation of the computer and internet in Nigeria,I'd believe, but 1949?? Mba...No no...iro..babu.
lolz.......I guess they are just having fun...its a ridiculous story, to send a letter in that time wasnt cheap, and how would they send money to a 16 year old boy in Africa, besides the fronts on the newspaper was not in existence at that time.
PoliticsRe: N600 Billion Census Budget Outrageous by Samxiulee: 8:12pm On Sep 05, 2013
The arguments for census, is majorly how to plan, budget on resources,if each states control their resources, let each of them conduct census themselves,if any states wants to count cow let them count it with their money and their resources.Fiscal federalism.
Foreign AffairsRe: Russia Sends Missile Cruiser To Eastern Mediterranean by Samxiulee:
fewj: Reading through different comments regarding an impending war or should I say an impending U.S invasion of Syria and It sovereignty, Here are some points I think we should all note:

1. This impending invasion is a product of political turmoil, citizens of syria have rejected their government especially their president just like some other Arab nations did recently, why can't president Assad just step down, your own people don't want you anymore, you're imposing yourself on them at the cost of so many lives!!! You definitely do not have their best interest at heart!

2. This crisis didn't start today, its been on for over two years, neither the Assad regime, the U.S., Russia or even China have been able to come up with a reasonable solution and execute it to the later, Russia and China especially so far haven't done anything to mitigate the hardship being faced by Syrians through medical and food aid and anything else, instead they've been making huge profits from it buy selling more weapons to the Assad regime!!! grin

3. I never saw any thread here on Nairaland suggesting a solution to this crisis, or even commensurating with the Syrian people in their time of hardship for the over two years its been on sad

4. I also never saw any thread criticising the U.N. Security council for not doing nearly enough all this time, or even a thread mobilizing an anti Assad or even an Anti civil war rally all this time, now thousands have died! angry

Finally The U.S. is bold enough to initiate a military strike, tongues which have been silent to the death of people's children, parents, their lovers, spouse, uncles and aunties are now wagging. angry

In my opinion, the solution is very simple, Russia which has strong ties with the Assad regime should offer the Syrian president and his cohorts asylum, that would be a major game changer.

(If Russia won't, GEJ should set up a joint committee of boko haram and Mend to go and kidnap Assad cheesy cheesy cheesy, Na joke I dey o kiss kiss kiss)
you won't see because the whole world is enlightened enough to know that Obama is just playing politics, they are not going to war, what if it was the opposition that used the siren gas on the people to attract sympathy?opposition in Iraq did same, claiming Sadam had wmd, when the Americans got there, there was no evidence of WMD,Syria is different, its not everyone that is asking the government to step down, its 50/50,we all love the Americans but going to war on something you don't have a reasonable doubt on,does not make sense.
PoliticsRe: Dangote Signs $3.3bn Loan Agreement To Build Africa’s Biggest Petrochemical & Oi by Samxiulee: 6:20pm On Sep 04, 2013
As much as am happy for Alh Dangote on this feat and the people of Ogun and Ondo,am not comfortable with this project, bearing in mind the game alhaji is playing in the cement industry,he promised that the price of cement will crash after he completes Obajana, till today cement is still expensive,I wish he would have competitors to drive down the price of the products coming out from the oil refinery plant.Btw no cabal can pull him down, cos he is the Godfather.

PoliticsRe: Baraje-led PDP Faction Give Conditions For Peace by Samxiulee: 4:44pm On Sep 03, 2013
clint77ng: The blame is on GEJ. He is/was ruling this country with kid gloves as if he is/was ruling one developed country in europe or america. When OBJ asked u to exert your authority on this nation, you thought he wasn't making sence. Now u can see what he meant. I now know that america intelligence work real good. I c crisis. I wonder how ss will do one term and the north will do as long as the want. We now know that the political tension is not about Pdp but its about gettting GEJ off the way. Is this not the same as treason. They shd thank their God that GEJ is not igbo, things for don dey happen by now. Bunch of idiots.
wetin for don happen?so now you can't fight for him because he is not Igbo?na wa ooo,so it doesn't matter if he was right or wrong, what matter to you is if he was Igbo,my Bro please fight for him regardless of whether he is Igbo,Hausa,YORUBA,or efik.that is if he is doing the right thing,is he doing the right thing rightnow?
PoliticsRe: Baraje-led PDP Faction Give Conditions For Peace by Samxiulee: 4:31pm On Sep 03, 2013
I for one do not believe this story, coming out 26 hours after the meeting,6_8hrs before the proposed reconciliation meeting,I believe some ppl from the Gej/tukur camp is behind this story to whip up sentiments,Governors asking the president not to harass them with EFCC?I don't think they will have the effontary to do that.they should Forget the agreement,at the same time he should submit himself for Primaries and test his popularity in his party.

PoliticsRe: Who Is Your Most Respected Nigerian Politician Of All Time? by Samxiulee: 9:58am On Sep 03, 2013
gare: Awo is a local champ, all the first he had was all located in the SW he is not a nationalist, very tribal and not a good sports man,but a very good local champ
you talk about Nationalist when you are talking about a homogeneous state/nation,like France,Germany....and their likes but Nigeria is like the UK,a State made up of different Nations, the Scots,Brits, welsh and the Irish.so why would Awo be a nationalistic politician?there is nothing wrong with Tribalism, its all abbout identifying with your Tribal Nation. @ op Awo is the most respected for me.
PoliticsRe: ASUU Strike:"lecturer Must Renegotiate ,We Cannot Implement 2009 agreement by Samxiulee: 9:36am On Sep 03, 2013
emmysenior: In another news, the devil is set to repent after reading this guy's comment.
lolz.......that's what you get when you dnt implement ASUU demand,
BTW @ op,what is wrong with us in Nigeria?the President was an ASUU exco when he was a lecturer, why can't he negotiate with his people?why is ASUU fighting one of their own?something is wrong somewhere,if Gej was part of ASUU before he became a deputy Gov he should have a firsthand knowledge of ASUU demands and implement it,if he now realise that the demands are unrealistic,he should have called his people "ASUU"to inform them, shouldn't have waited till they embark on strike.if they (ASUU) can't get what they want from one of them(Gej)they should forever hold their peace.both parties are destroying lives.I spent 7yrs in school for a 5yrs programme during Obj administration.

PoliticsRe: How Lagos Broke Its Own Laws On Deportation - Femi Falana by Samxiulee: 7:37pm On Sep 02, 2013
babyosisi: Unlike you,Igbos don't sheepishly applaud someone just because
If they have no problem calling out their own when they step outta line, they sure wont entertain chameleons
If Soyinka acts right he is hailed but if he decides to play dirty politics in his twilight years or allow jealousy get the better part of him,he will be chastised
did you call out Gov Obi When he did same in 2011?
PoliticsRe: How Lagos Broke Its Own Laws On Deportation - Femi Falana by Samxiulee: 6:19pm On Sep 02, 2013
Mitch D Leo: I see this Deportation thing as rubbish Its just like asking Black Americans to leave America and return to the continent they originally came from Africa. What about beggars that were Born in Lagos are you saying they dont have a right to call themselves Lagosians. huh huh huh huh huh. Am not Yoruba but i was born in Lagos and raised in Lagos and am Proud to call myself a lagosian. All this tribal and ethnic things are rubbish because at the end of the day the world does not care if you are Yoruba, Igbo, or Hausa, they only care about the country you come from Nigeria.
no doubt you are a Lagosian but where the problem comes from is the state of Origin issue, you can ascribe to any post you want in the state, but you might not be able to get a bursary from the state.....the problem is our constitution. As much as Aregeshola,Lai Mohamed, opeyemi bamidele can be commissioners in Lagos,I can't be a local govt councillor in their various states even though am YORUBA from Lagos, they will send me back to Lagos.
PoliticsRe: How Lagos Broke Its Own Laws On Deportation - Femi Falana by Samxiulee: 6:09pm On Sep 02, 2013
Uncle Femi, LASG has said the act was carried out on good faith and they are going to improve on the system, make it more humane, the laws you just quoted are mainly for people with special needs of Lagos state origin, not all destitutes are mentally challenged, even with the law it just impossible for the Government to cater for all the poor people roaming the street, sir I beg to differ, the state Government did nothing wrong.
PoliticsRe: Sharia Coming To S.W. by Samxiulee: 10:51am On Sep 02, 2013
AbdH: Stop being mischievous, everybody saw where the man wrote sarcasm at the end of his comment.
Why are you lot crying over this? Shariah is a welcome development and I don't see how that affects you since it is not coming to your region like you have made us realize.
Islam is a complete way of life and the sooner Muslims are given the right to be judged by Allah's law, the better for us all.
I hope you people are joking sha?av got both Muslim and Christians in my family, sharia ko Sara ni....

PoliticsRe: Jonathan Declares Support For National Conference by Samxiulee: 3:43pm On Aug 30, 2013
ilebaami: The only President that will identify with a Rewriting of the constitution based on ethnic representation is one from an Oil-Producing community in Nigeria for now. Today, OBJ or IBB, Atiku, Buhari or even Fashola or Aregbesola will work against either the whole or the part of it that will enforce resource control. I repeat most states will want to work against the SNC when the debate on Resource Control and State of Origin will be addressed. In fact, the Igbo will work against Biafra because they will want to retain their economic expansionist tendencies.
Please believe GEJ sincerity. The only Nigerians that have nothing to gain by being part of Nigeria is the South-South. President of SS is more profitable to GEJ than President of Nigeria, the SS budget will be much bigger per head.
If you want SNC sooner than later, give GEJ full support (but I doubt if the APC sympathisers can).
no need to put tribal sentiments into SNC,Obj conveyed on but NASS shot it down, tbh SNC is not the answer but fiscal federalism,we can have that even with NASS....let everyone control their resources, the SW are the most vocal when it come to SNC and fiscal federalism and resources control they don't need SS oyel.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Declares Support For National Conference by Samxiulee: 2:57pm On Aug 30, 2013
Snc will only lead to brake up,what Nigeria need is fiscal federalism, let all state control their resource.
