I vote yes but the map op had up there is nothing but a joke, having the old eastern region and the old mid western region is nothi g but a joke,it will never happen,to be on a safe side I think division along North and South will be more peaceful and stronger than all this ethnic lines you guys are coming up with. The kind of war that will be fought among communities in the Niger Delta region over control of oil fields both onshore and offshore cannot be imagine. |
Acidosis: Have you ever been to Kano?why can't you find out if the person you are quoting is a Lagosian or better still a Southwestern?please we are not haters, Btw nice development,I don't want to know if they don't have traffic right now, they will in the nearest future have traffic. |
Party leaders apologising to the president and the "first lady",who are the people Gej is surrounding himself with?is the first lady also a party leader? |
^^^how many times do you want to be told that there are statutory agency like LIRS that collect tax from the people, not the head of market association,be it the market president, iyaloja and babaloja. |
Please, PDP is not an option for replacement. Not now or in 100years. UPN will win in my mind before PDP. Maybe Accord.
as Omo eko myself,I utterly, vehemently, absolutely concur,PDP should not be an option in Lagos, our fellow brothers are just trying to protect their daily bread, but little do they know that they are selling their future and that of their children away,am really proud of all the truth speaking Yorubas on this thread, its just a pity that we don't have a better alternative party right now, labour party would have being better but ogbeni Mimiko has decided to be a PDP puppet, telling us that colour white is black,he could have used this opportunity to make his party popular here in Lagos...oma se o YORUBA e ro nu. |
Am utterly against the unholy matrimony union of the north and southern Nigeria,I honestly think the core north would be better off with their beliefs and way of life,at the same time I Seriously don't belief Mr Harold Smith story, just didn't add up. |
elbulk: Pls whre did u get ur stats @ worst in dose states its almost an equal distribution...its my region so I knwkwara, kogi and Niger states are predominantly Muslims I really don't know the figure for nasarawa. |
55 million people in the north in the 50s,you guys have perfected the acts/arts of fallacy,if you don't want the people of SW to ally with the "core north"please come up a with a better story than that,SE and SS has being the major ally with the North from time,if ACN and CPC want to merge I honestly don't think we should fret about it,PDP should just perform better, clip the wings of the 1st lady and you all will be surprise that the SW will vote the same way they did in 2011 presidential election, they can be naïve but they are not morons.they might still vote APC for Governors but if Gej can have a change of heart and change his sycophantic advisers, they will definitely return him at the polls. |
Can the government please do us a favour and scrap NYSC and JAMB,before someone start blowing up people calling themselves nyscharam. |
elbulk: Pls whre did u get ur stats @ worst in dose states its almost an equal distribution...its my region so I knwit might be your region but please clarify which of the states you av 50 50 ? |
lagerwhenindoubt: All I am saying is these acts and similar perpetrated by locals and supported by LASG is simply a necessary evil that must be managed, the more you struggle with it, the tighter the noose gets. na just manage, resistance is futile (not worth the energy nor time better used for business)my brother until when they come up with another ridiculous scheme of getting money from us is that when we demand that they should stop?the necessary evil you are talking about is nothing but "monkey dey work baboon dey chop"its slavery in another form. This is not the same case with the entity called Nigeria where her leaders can sit and share her oil revenue,Oga I pay various taxes in Lagos am always proud when I see the government doing something with it,but seeing all this local champion claiming rights on the people is just nauseating. |
take dat: Why won't the Local Government appoint a Babaloja, when Presidents of the market association cannot be trusted.why on earth should they pay money to lagos state motor vehicle administration agency?if that's the body the report is talking about,If there is any agency in lagos state government that is called Lagos state motor vehicle association agency,I would like to know why people who are selling vehicle spare part should pay levies to them,I would also love to know if they are government agency and if they remits the funds into the government coffers. As for the lagos state motor vehicle administration agency, they have their sister agency LIRS to collect their funds for them not the babaloja or iyaloja pf which am not aware they are suppose to levy the market men and women after collecting money for drvers licence and other permits. |
lagerwhenindoubt: If it is a Constitutional Institution, then we must respect its Authority and abide by its instructs.. if it is a Traditional/Ceremonial Instituiton, (we must for the sake of Peace and Diplomacy) manage the situation unless you want to cut your losses and deal with Boko-Haram up North.what has boko haram got to do with this brazen daylight robbery?if its an association are they not at liberty to join or not?there is nothing traditional in iyaloja and babaloja collecting fees from market woman,at best they act as liaison officers to the court of the King where they reports to the Iyalode, not even to the King directly. |
omar22: Its a criminal offence world wide to refuse to pay market rate or shop levy or corporate taxnobody is disputing payment of tax and other levies to the statutory organs in authority, but the appointment of iyaloja and babaloja to collect this funds is nothing but fraud.we have lirs staffs/agents whose job it is to collect tax and levies on behalf of the government, there are people working at the local government level who also collect tax on their behalf. Btw who monitors/audit the funds collected by the iyalojas and babalojas. Of what use is the money being collected at motor parks and every bus stop, than the money going into the pockets of the excos, only for them to marry more wives and throw owambe parties.this practice should stop, its of no value to the economy of the state. |
Am I the only happy one that there is nothing like one north anymore?I just dong understand why the leaders of this peolple will sit down with the leaders of their enemy and play politics while their own people are being killed in southernkaduna, jos and others? BTW the middlebelt is made up of six states three predominantly Muslims the other Christians,I don't see the Muslim state leaders endorsing Gej here. |
Its sicking and disgusting that my people have turned themselves into this,of what benefit is babaloja and iyaloja to the economy of the society?just like Nurtw excos they are bunch of parasites doing nothing productive than to collect money from the real practitioners thereby causing inflation in the price of Goods in the market, same way Nurtw is a menace to the society, they are the main cause of transport fares always going up defying law of gravity.I am also aware that this same practices cut across some other artisans association.the truth is that it must stop,it negate the principle of fair competitions among traders artisans and their likes. |
Traders of the popular Ladipo Market, Mushin, Lagos State, have been warned against tolls evasion.http://www.punchng.com/metro/failure-to-pay-market-tolls-criminal-offence/ |
From 2008,why is it difficult for our leaders to just do the right thing?sending their names to the senate shouldn't be a problem. |
Baba obj should, just do us a favour,go and enjoy your life in your farms and let us be,you have done enough harm.stop the lamentation. |
We can hear you guys!! When it is done by Fashola or any other SW governor, it is a great project being executed by a visionary who has promised to deliver it on schedule. When it is done by any other governor elsewhere or FG, it is a white elephant project and will never be delivered, even when the project life cycle has not expired. The conspiracy seem to be that ' we are the only guys that can do it right...' Some of us are watching with rapt attention.
dude all the guys you are referring to are not fashola apologists,I don't see reason why you av to drag SW into this, when we see good things we appreciate, this is a good thing, btw most of the critics are people from the state if am not mistaking. |
kaze4blues: Why ur own too much sef....do you know that no other tribe revolt against their ruler the way YORUBA people do?yes toba lase but OYO mesi. |
Pukkah: The woman in question is an adult and there's no doubt about that.it has already,am pissed off |
Eko Ile: Well said.Oga,please if you have access to the former governor, tell him that he can not be right all the time,he is only human, even if the oba confer the title on the lady without his influence, can't they(tinubu and his daughter)reject the title and look for someone else?for the fact that he introduced BRF to us and he is performing doesn't mean others are,you guys should learn from history, adedibu does not have any legacy in oyo state again because he did the same thing tinubu is doing right now.please tell him oooooooo,we just don't take nonsense here in lagos,no amount of NURTW thugs will scare the people of lagos into submission.kilode gan na?is doing the right thing so difficult? |
Desola: which stup1d loved Oba? Where exactly is your home town in Lagos to call others out? Who are you? Who you be? Nonsense! E don tey wey una don dey sell una useless akara but na today I go take am stone all of una!av just got a new crush on nairaland.....looking for flower icon. Please inform them, eko o gba gbere ra ra o. Its high time we dethrone this emperor,if we have to vote pdp just to make a point in 2015 that we don't tolerate a lamidi adedibu or a saraki in our state. Am not a fan of pdp BTW...enough is enough |
I don't like unitary system, that's the same system Nigeria is running, and the problem with Nigeria. |
Aint you guys tired of of this lies?tinubu does not have the power to install an iyaloja, the power belongs to the Oba. |
akpomeme: Cost of doing business in Nigeria has always been high. DSTV in SA does not deal with power failure or generator to power up its bases in SA but in Nigeria they do. Our laws governing international businesses in Nigeria can add up to many overhead cost. It makes more sense for a company like dstv to go on monthly plan package for its subscribers in Nigeria in order to manage risk and be assured of its receivables.Dstv does not operate in Nigeria, its operates from South Africa,it does not need phcn to broadcast, multichoice is just a marketing firm,so why can't we also av a pay as you go option? |
God bless you ,your piece are very interesting, educative, informative and entertaining. |
zetdee: comment from the news24 article.this was the same factors MTN and econet claimed when they were billing us per minutes instead of per seconds until globalcom proved them wrong,am not against the SA businesses in Nigeria, but their level of extortion is killing, BTW am not a fan of foreign investment either, government should just give us power, security, and a good transport system, and see what the magic Nigerians can do,the developed economies of today did not develop with FDIs,USA,china,Japan,Korea western European nations where all developed through a healthy competition between the cities that made up most of this countries,FDIs always comes in when the economy is stable and profit can be taken off the host country.Nigeria economy is stable right now but if we remain the way we are rightnow,we will be in deep trouble in the next 2 to 3yrs.Japan is one of the most developed country in the world but nobody is investing there, have anyone asked why? |
Ogbeni Dayo, when it comes to women in YORUBA land, its not hereditary,no family connection, you av heard of Asipa family,Ajiroba,Balogun but not iyalode family or the lesser iyaloja. |
percipi1: Section 6 provides that “Any person who, otherwise than in conformity with the terms of a licence granted by the Minister or under other lawful authority, uses or displays¬”if the first lady is in order,I guess the president is out of order for giving her the authority to use a "counterfeit"seal, state Governors wives must not be allowed to do same, what the are doing is belittling their spouses offices. |
