AT LAST GOOD NEWS FOR CORPERS, THIS NEW ALLOWANCE WILL DEFINITELY HELP ALOT AS THERE ARE SO MANY CORP MEMBERS SUFFERING OUT THERE STILL ASKING PARENTS FOR MONEY MONTHLY, THIS WILL HELP ALONG WAY TO HELP THEM ESPECIALLY THE FEMALES FROM the Federal Government came yesterday cheery news for Corps members. Their monthly allowance has been jacked up from N9,775.00 to N19,800. President Goodluck Jonathan approved the increment in a letter to the Office of the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC). The letter has been sent to all state coordinators. Brig. Gen Maharatzu Tsiga, who spoke to reporters in Abuja said: “I am delighted to inform you that the President and Commander-in- Chief, Goodluck Jonathan has graciously approved increment in the Corps members allowances from N9,775.00 to N19,800.00 with effect from March, 2011. “ The payment will take effect from March, 2011”, he said. “2010 Batch ‘B’ Corps members that just passed out from the scheme will therefore be paid in arrears,” he said. Tsiga, appreciating the gesture, said Corps members should be appreciated for their contribution to national development. He said the struggle for the increment has been on for a long time. “They are serving their fatherland, we are posting them to states outside their state of origin, nobody gives them anything except the allowances and it has been stipulated in the law establishing the NYSC that the Federal, States, Local Government and other stakeholders should periodically review the allowances of the Corps members,” he said. He called on states and local governments to emulate the gesture of the Federal Government and improve on the allowances, accommodation and other welfare of the Corps members as the future of the country, he said, is in their hands. http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/news-update/12148-corps-members-to-earn-n19-800.html |

Hello Doc-osward i really appreciate you sharing all this information as they are very educating and helpful. Please i will like to ask if eating too much Pineapple and soursop can increase one's BLOOD SUGAR LEVEL [quote author=Doc-osward link=topic=681691.msg8457027#msg8457027 date=1307246764]PINEAPPLE Pineapple is loaded with Vitamins and Minerals: The obvious benefits of pineapple are all the vitamins and minerals the fruit is loaded with. Its nutrients include calcium, potassium, fiber, and vitamin C. In addition it is low in fat and cholesterol. It Strengthens weak bones: One of the benefits of pineapple is that it helps to build healthy bones. Pineapples are rich in manganese, a trace mineral that is needed for your body to build bone and connective tissues. Just one cup of pineapple provides 73% of the daily recommended amount of manganese. The benefits of pineapple can effect the growth of bones in young people and the strengthening of bones in older people. It is Good for Gums: Your gums are very important to keep healthy. The gums hold the teeth in place and your teeth would be in bad condition if you have unhealthy gums. By eating pineapple, you are strengthening your gums to make it through the hard years later. It Prevents Macular Degeneration: Pineapples contain a lot of beta-carotene that is good for the eyes and for your vision. Studies show that eating three or more helpings of pineapple a day may lower your chance of getting age-related macular degeneration, the main cause of vision loss in older folks. IT Helps Arthritis (diseases of the joints): Bromelain is also considered an effective anti-inflammatory. Regular ingestion of at least one half cup of fresh pineapple daily is purported to relieve painful joints common to osteoarthritis. It produces mild pain relief. The Lagos State Government has concluded plans to offer Lagosians who have registered in the ongoing voter registration exercise free ride on the Bus Rapid Transit, BRT buses owned by LAGBUS Asset Management Limited. According to the Managing Director, LAGBUS Asset Management Limited, Mr. Babatunde Disu, the free ride on the red BRT would take place on Thursday and Friday between 9 a.m. and 3p.m. He said at a news conference yesterday in Lagos, South West Nigeria that the voter’s card would serve as ticket for the two days, saying that once commuters tender their original voter’s card, they would be allowed to board the buses free. “The voters card will be your fare that day and once you present it, you will be allowed to board the buses to any destination free. The idea behind this is to get many people to register to vote. “If you don’t get yourself registered, you lose your right to vote. We will like various organizations that support democracy to come out and encourage people to register and vote,” he said. Disu supported the call by several Lagosians on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to extend the voter registration exercise which has now been extented. http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2011/01/25/lagos-to-offer-free-ride-to-registered-voters/
